Yahoo Mail Beta - New Look for Yahoo Mail

nelimitat
I'm really curious about the new interface of Yahoo Mail. I'm going to visit the link right now and tell impressions about it. There are a lot of nice pictures on the address that is above. Can we test this new interface at yahoo mail. The last beta interface that was used by google could be tested out by enabling an option from the general preferences. I'm going to access my account and see if I have such an option again. The Interface is very clean and I really like it. It looks very similar to the Yahoo Messenger interface. smile.gif

yeah, I too am curious to try out the new Yahoo Beta.. but it is not available to everyone. Moreover even if you want to register as an interested beta tester, you need to have a "yahoo.com" email address.
So guess, I have to wait till a wider release is available or beta testing is available for other yahoo mail domains.

Till then, if nyone of u get to test the beta, please do post here a few screenshots and also more importantly about all the new features there are available.

Cheers.

It is my opinion that yahoo is loosing way too many users to GMail. Once gmail users started having more and more invites all of a sudden Yahoo has 1GB of storage and now they are working on a more sleek and ingenious design. I am not surprised. Mail is a comodity that more and more people need and use as the world continues to evolve and become more technologically dependent as well as based. So much more can be done with the use of email and electronic conferences. In order to be competative the email clients out there have to grow and become better with the times and the technology. For Yahoo the less users they have the less the advertisers will be getting and the less revenue that yahoo and other email account providers will be getting. I think its all about the dollar because if they don't provide a great service then the consumer will go somewhere else and <- snipped -> there.

Competition is good. I'm glad to see Yahoo! is trying to be innovative. But it gets more and more difficult as a company gets bigger and bigger. My bet is on Google and Gmail for future growth. Although I am a Yahoo! mail subscriber and use that service regularly.

I thought that Yahoo has so many freaking users for all it's other services that it's email is not that important anymore. I guess I'm wrong.

I had got interested in the topic sometime back and read user as well as professional reviews on the new yahoo! interface. One guy (who happens to be a programmer) was saying that he was jealoys at the folks at google 'coz of this layout and one other professional was saying that this interface has the potential of getting Yahoo! an edge over Gmail and a strong fotthold in the business. I've long been a Yahoo fan but always wanted their email interface to change and now they've done it. There will also be option to go back to the old interface if ppl are not liking the new one. Yeah rite, that's gonn be a less used feature!

It doesn't look much different than the current one. If they step up on additional security and ease of use, then it will be a great move to stay competitive against Microsoft Hotmail and Google's Mail (beta). Free e-mail sites are a wonderful tool for everyone to have!

I'm impressed by this new interface, it looks alot better and on the surface seems to look much easier to use than other web based email clients that are available right now. I hear that hotmail is doing the same thing as well in terms of making an desktop application-like interface. Pretty soon I won't bother with using a desktop application as a web version will be just as good. With AJAX the gap between desktop application and web application just keeps getting smaller and smaller.

This is one of the coolest new things I've come across in a long time. Go to getdropbox.com
and watch the video that is included. It has a pretty descriptive narrative. Basically what this
software does is allow basically allows you to maintain a folder that is accessable from any
computer. Simmilar to how you can just upload a file to a website and re access it from anywhere
else. This gives it a very attractive UI and also makes it pretty simple so the not so tech savvy
parents will be able to easily upload pictures and files to you. Supposedly the tech....

I started a new topic because my question was not getting addressed in the other post about

    (6)
Microsft has released 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 Technical Refresh (B2TR) for Microsoft
internal use. This means this beta system will be available to all Microsoft employees 7 days before
the public release. The public release of B2TR will not be announced publicly by Microsoft until 14
september. This b2TR promise to remove all those bugs present in Beta 1 and give the user a fast
hand experience of Office 2007 final release. The final release date of the full version has not yet
been disclosed by Microsoft. Apart from this Windows Vista Rc1 has already been....

So has anyone downloaded and tried this yet?
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/be...en/default.mspx It's the entire suite for free
and it's really cool. It's such a huge difference from the Office 2000 I've been using
for years. It's a big 450 mb download but I think it's worth it. You have to log in to
download it but all you need is a hotmail account and you don't even need to give them legit
info or anything. I just put in garbledy gook for all fields besides email. The installer is fairly
smart and will remove previous versions....
  6. Firefox 2.0 Beta 1

If you've given the newly-released Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 a spin, you've probably noticed that
there aren't a whole lot of eye-popping new features. However, there are a few subtle
improvements that make it a nice upgrade. In addition to built-in spellchecker, Firefox 2.0 also
has close buttons on every individual tab - a much-needed feature (especially on Mac OS X.)
There's also better (but still not great) RSS integration. When you click on a site's feed
icon (at the far end of the address bar), a preview page with the option to choose your feed rea....

Well as I was updating and reinstalling everything on my computerm i came across microsoft ie7
browser since i was going to update it anyways and notice that beta 3 was out all i can say its more
stabled and alot faster i think also the interface is a bit more organized as well. They brought
down some of the icons to the tab bar so the the menu options are not taking up a huge amount of
space up top. but other then that it's comign along nicely i think being somewhat updated and
with a cleaner look as well.....

I have heard and that there is a Windows Vista Beta version going around. I have been to a torrent

Do any of you here have Windows Vista Beta? If you do what are the system requirements for it to

they will continue to reel out new computers until the end of the earth. The Intel® CoreTM Duo

  11. Skyos Beta 8.5 Better But Still Very Beta
An alternative OS+GUI, a bit like BeOS (0)
Mostly for entertainment and to see whether Robert Szeleney (one-man shop) has made much progress on
it, I downloaded and installed SkyOS 5 beta 8.5 on my main basement x86, an eMachines T2958 with
add-in NVidia. I had tried 8.4 but had some issues. Fewer issues in 8.5. This is way-alternative,
far left (or right, rather) of Linux. For an early beta it's pretty slick. Looks and works a
bit like BeOS, but more current and with a custom GUI dev system (SkyGI) that beats the heck out of
