| | I tried Xanga and didn't really like it. It's good as an information storing page but doesn't let you search for and find the people you know all that well. I use MySpace, which has over 50 million people on it. I know a lot of people who use it. Xanga just seems a lot less organized and structured as far as coming across people, and I'm not that crazy about the look of it either, looks too... impersonal. All the sites have the same polished look to them that doesn't really draw you into them like MySpace's. Just my opinion. |

I used to love xanga. Infact, I even paid for a year's subscription. But after I was half way through, I got bored of it. The features became lame and I really didn't feel like updating the journal. Plus, one of the main reasons why I paid for the subsciption was for the skins, which I later found out that people on free accounts could change. Also the 2gb picture gallery was cool until i found out about greatestjournal, which does the same exact thing but for free! The last issue I have with xanga is the fact that they still haven't added anon posting. They promised it 2 years ago and still haven't offered it. They basically force people to join just to leave their friends comments which is just a hassel.

I like Xanga. At the time it had a lot of features. This was before MySpace though. But it still holds it's merritts. I do like the ease of customizing. And to tell you the truth, myspace, even though is very popular, is at times very hard to read with the whole transparent crap that they put on there. I choose not to use Xanga anymore though due to the fact that I have had 2 sites on there recently, that were both hacked, and shut down. And I got no help from the support team there. Downfall. So I refuse to use them now.

Even though Myspace has bunch of problems like ahemmm...IM. I would still prefer it over it xanga. Xanga i tried for a whole year. It got really boring. Cause its like people you don't know can comment and they like flame your page or make rude remarks. I know i can delete them but having to read them is innerving. Then again most of my friends are on myspace. So i joined that and forgot xanga. I don't know most of the asians are like gangsta hoodlum wannabe. lol. well the ones i see. i'm so discriminatory. then they type weird. WadDUP muH HOmiZ wHad chA dOiIng. lol.

I have a very interesting twist that occurs when comparing Xanga to Myspace. About half of my friends have Myspace, and the other half use Xanga. I have both, and use both, but I am much more active on xanga because it's simply a blog. You give comments to quality posts, not just random comments for no specific reason. It's more of a blog than Myspace, which is a whole popularity contest group of everyone.

Lol yeah, I used to have Xanga last year, it got really boring and all my friends quit or either have Myspace so what was the point if you post about your day and no one comes and reads it?! Alot of people on Xanga that I know quit Xanga for Myspace... and Myspace is alot more active than Xanga.

i dislike it, same as myspace. if you want to have a good looking website which you can customize and have no adds they are useless. just set up a forum, people can make custom profiles and pages and then you use the rest of the forum to chat. much better than those cheapo websites.

It's only fun if you have other friends who use it. Otherwise, no one comments, and you don't have anybody's xanga to read. And that'll get quite boring. It's fun as a blog, and to get to know your friends better =)

Adsense On A Xanga?
possible? (1) I already have a different site for my adsense account, but I thought that maybe having it on my
xanga too might boost my clicks a little. Does anyone know if it against adsense or xanga rules to
put the adsense ads on xangas (they seem to put their own google ad there anyway)? Also if it is
okay does anyone know how it might be done because I'm not too sure where I would put the code
because I don't think you can edit the xanga websites in its entirely like you would normally be
able to change anything on a website.....
Xanga
Its an insult to professional web designers... (21) I am one of the many people who hate Xanga. I believe its an insult to the professional web
designers that put hard work on to their site and have no one come to it. Xanga however is all
premade for you and its popular. Its for the lazy people that want a site but don't know how to
use HTML, PHP...etc codes. So what do you think?....
