| | I'm only pro-surgery for serious medical purposes. So I'm totally against changing your face or body just to look nicer or younger. Why do you want to look like you have 10 years less when you are going to die at the same age. It's no use to skip to a previous generation. And I must say that these surgery is easily recognizable. You may know who have done it if you look carefully... in some cases are more evident.
I also think it's like a drug. First you only want to get rid of something that makes you feel ugly. But then, you like the results and you feel the urge to "improve" yourself to be the perfect man or woman. And imagine if we all did plastic surgery, having the same icons, actors, actresses, top-models, etc, we would all look the same. It would be boring, alienating and terrible. |

Hi, I totally agree with you Sprknwn as it does become an obsession after sometime to keep changing and then you end up looking really Plastic. Is this like a sign that we are getting a bit too superficial as technology goes on reaching a higher level? In many ways I think it is that we are going superficial in some ways in need of proving ourselves.

Yeah, you know, everyone's saying they're against any kind of surgery except if it's to fix like a disfigurement or something, and I wonder how many of us will think that when we're fifty and wanting to be twenty again, but at least for now I would never agree with anything like botox or plastic surgery unless it's absolutely necessary to correct some sort of major disfigurement. You can do plenty of stuff to make yourself look better without having to pay for expensive treatments or surgery.

I am against all plastic surgery just because you don't think that you look good. I am also against a whole lot of makeup. You also have to think that you would have a chance of getting infected during recovery. Increasing your chances of getting sick shouldn't be worth it to look a little younger for a short time. People don't remember other people for looks as much as they remember them for their actions. If you are nice, kind, and ugly, people will still love you. If you are mean, selfish, and pretty, nobody will like you. If you eat right, exercise, and don't drink too much alcohol, you should age pretty gracefully. Even if you don't, most nice people only care if you're nice too.

I suppose I'm just against the whole 'external appearances' attitude. Well, I suppose one should be clean, well-groomed etc. up to a point, but I think there are limits to how far one should go to look good externally. I think it's your mind, your thoughts, your attitude and your personality that should count - both with you and with others. Plastic surgery for people seriously burned, disfigured, etc. I can understand. But cosmetic surgery, I'm wary of that. I have friends who don't necessarily look 'optimal' but that doesn't affect my attitude to them - they're wonderful people to be around, and I like them, and that's what matters, not what they look like. As for age, everyone ages, it's nothing to fear, and there's nothing bad about it. I once read an interesting article that said that as you age, your character is written on your face, the lines tell the story of your life, of your good times and bad, of happiness and sorrow, of love and sunshine and joy and pain. And I think that that character makes old people beautiful. How sad to wipe the slate clean just to look young again. Besides, no matter what you look like outside, I think that how young you are is really decided in your mind and heart, in your attitude to life. There are those who are young at heart at eighty, and there are those who are old and conservative at twenty-five. Can age be a state of mind after all??

No. Does anyone know though if they get the blood for cosmetic surgery from organizations like the Red Cross (whichever place provides the blood for life-saving surgeries in your country)? I heard they do, and it just doesn't make any sense to me ("oh, sorry, we can't save you because this woman getting breast implants used the last of the hospital's o-negative blood yesterday..."). They might be separate though, I'm not sure, IMO anyone getting cosmetic surgery should have to provide their own blood.

My answer is no I would never do any plastic surgery unless it is really neccessery like after some accident or something similar. Also I think that people should be satisfied with their bodies and should go to plastic surgery to satisfy someone else. That is the main problem in my oppinion. Also I have never considered that they use blood in plastic surgeries and I would really like to know where does this blood come from as this is really interesting topic because all those people who are giving blood are giving blood to save someones life and not to waste it for someones smaller nose or larger breasts.

Hello, I guess no one here would want to do surgery for beauty yet a lot of people are opting for that and it is said to be a worrying issue among teenagers. Are people really ready to pay a price just to look prettier for a few more years. Ironically the materials used are dangerous example: Botox is a kind of venom I think and sillicon is used in implants that can cause a problem if it tore or something.

i'm totally fine with plastic surgery, as long as i can pay for it. but i think it should only be done in moderation, meaning it shouldn't become an obsession brought by stress of wanting to look good. and like what one of the members said, plastic surgery would be good to those who have physical deformities that they want to have fixed. personally if fixing my nose would allow me to breathe better, i'll have it fixed.  i'm not that comfortable with any kind of operations really, but i'm not closing my doors. i think that's my only reason for getting plastic surgery---for function, and not because i want to look better.

My current girlfriend got nose plastic surgery because she got in a car accident. I almost had to get plastic surgery, really its nothing I worry about. I'm against un-natural breasts, otherwise I'm not too bothered. I hate how people care what YOU look like, and not worrying about themself. It just bugs me to death, I hate walking down the halls and seeing people being picked on because they are fat, or w/e reason. Stupid that they have to make fun of him, because he wishes to enjoy his life, although unhealthy, he wants to enjoy it, not spending time on thinking baout what his weight is. So usually, I don't care about plastic surgery, but those people that make fun of others because of their looks, doesn't help it at all. So It's just stupid in my opinion, unless its required to look normal again (like your nose gets destorted like my girlfriends, or etc)

Array Pointers Can Be Backwards
(Kind of) (7) I just found this out today: When you're using arrays, when you reference a certain index, you
can switch the pointer and the subscript around. I know I'm not explaining that very good, but
here's and example: CODE int a[] = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11}; int b =1; int
c[] = {0,-5,11,0,0,5,0,0,0}; cout << b[a][c]; //Same as
c[a[b]]; See? 'b' is actually just an integer, it's not an array,
or pointer, or anything. Usually, you would have to put the array first, then an integer. Like....

(0) Well it has been awhile since I did a movie review due to school and all that stuff, and with hte
wonderful stress I build up because of it I am glad I went to the movies. Before I get into the
movie I have to mention something that was very freaky, this artist had build a life size old man,
paper mache or maybe something else but, at first look you think it was real because how life like
it was. Also what made it even more convincing was the fact that the lighting to this sculpture hit

Kind of pixelated. (1) I've been trying to make an applet to draw things, and I just started looking into it, and I
realized with GeneralPath's curveTo function, it looks kind of pixelated. I'm not sure if
it's the AWT image, or if it's the way curveTo works. I've tried drawing the curve to a
bigger image, then drawing that image on a smaller image, and that didn't really help. It just
used up more memory for no reason. Then I found this thing about anti-aliasing, and that didn't
help. What I'm looking for is a way to make curves that are as smooth as t....

Frog Setup

I stumbled upon Sim Town. What a cute game it was! You got to build roads and put down
restaurants and all sorts of little houses. I don't think there were any taxes for the town;

(86) Well, I'm from Argentina and I like eating meat alot, but I don't like spice food, or
fattening like Fast food, but well when I'm hungry I'd eat anything, snaks are the worst,
specially if there's cheese around...I like Italian alot I make pizza all the time, in fact last
night I made two and they were pretty good. I like Japanese, because I like fish a lot too, Indian
