| | This is a thread for people discuss their opinions about who will rise to be the enxt super power of the world, or if at all. USA as everyone knows is the current world super power but what do you think will happen to it? undoubtably Britain was the worlds greatest super power in history, which eventually declined, so can the same thing happen to the US? I think a decline of the USA and rise of the economy of China are inevatable, but weither they become a super power is an issue. Discuss. Don't just post a countries name. Justify your opinion which mature answers. Not some country fanboy reply like " USA r0xors and will rule the world forever!" |

According to The Times of India newspaper - one of the most read newspapers in India, China will have a great impact on the world by 2020 and will match USA in every aspects and will overtake Superpower status by 2020 itself. The finding was none other than the FBI of the USA. The measurement was done according to the strength in various fields - including economy, military, infrastructure, etc. Unlike the era of Britannica in modern's world SIZE of a country matters alot the finding says. And by 2050 India will overtake it from China. Though USA will continue to have influence to other countries it won't be able to bully around other countries like it does today, the finding also says. EU is another dominant factor to reckon with, but clubbing many countries under one roof will not have so much strength like a unified one country with the same size of EU like India and China, the finding continues. EU will be in fact pull by its own pressure within and will only be able to maintain only its equilibrium. So, the next 20 years a very different poticial scenario will emerge in the world.

China may pump its communist propoganda throughout the globe, but without a doubt, the one country that will remain untarnished is LUXEMBOURG. Yes people, LUXEMBOURG. Home to the world's highest GDP per capita, LUXEMBOURG will inevitably rise to the occasion and tame the Big Red with its supernatural abilities. Don't ask questions, just take my word for it!

Yeah. And then Luxembourg will form a SUPERUNION with Andorra, Monaco, Lichtenstein and San Marino! It's so obvious now, I don't understand why I didn't see it before! Anyway, I think both India and China have good chances of becoming powerful eventually. Both are big countries with lots of people in it, and both are getting more and more economic power.

Definetely India and China will have lasting impacts on the world. India and China both have rapidly growing tech industired (India for example, Google has hired many people from India to work for them.). Thse two countries each have over a billion people in population. A India is projected to have the largest population in the world by 2015. They also nuclear development and nuclear power plants. And adding the population together, they make up 30% of the worlds total populaton.

It is simple people. Keep work in the USA. Stop making other countries rich and strong. Greed is an extreme problem here. US companies continue to outsource. KNOCK IT OFF !!! ASAP before its too late and we all end up paying the ultimate price. -Chasse

Don't be foolish, China and India will never be Super Power. They are third world countries and will stay like that. Don't forget China export most of their weapons from France and India nuclear program in under british control. so they are still some colonies where you can get cheap labor. Its obvious France and Germany will form one nation, the US, Uk and Canada another. Thus isolating Russia. Russia will become a third world countries in the next coming years since the oil wont have an economic impact no more.

It's seems possible that china may indeed become a super power ,but even if they don't China is a country that we shouldn't ignore.

I'd definitely believe that India could eventually become the world's superpower. There have been several things thay've been working on over there that would re-inforce that theory.

I believe that these countries will be placed up near the United States Of America by 2020.
-People's Republic Of China:Rating 9/10(Their Military strength is enormous. They are researching, constructing and testing modern arms technology, including aircraft carriers,5th Gen fighter bombers,anti-satelite missiles and their excellent command economy has outsted the west. They have the worlds largest industrial system and export enough to supplement themselves. They are making friends and forging alliances as we speak, even warming relations with the US.But their Key allies are in Africa,South East Asia,South America and Russia. In terms of social they need to work more on equality, standard of living, access to technology and freedom of speech while maintaining tradition.)
-Russian Federation:Rating 8.5/10(They are like a dormant volcano,if you care to describe it that way.Do not forget the soviet union,or the 22,000+ Nuclear weapons they posses. In a military sense they need to take control of their economy, they used to be the No.1 exporter of top-grade military hardware to the rest of the world, and they stick to time-tested designs,so they could again if they get their act together. They still have many friends and are on OK-terms with the United States. They definitely will emerge with China & India)
-Republic Of India:Rating 7.9/10(Although still rampant with poverty, corruption and inequality, they have huge potential. They currently have a thriving arms industry to supplement an experienced large and well trained military.Although still reliant on foreign ideas and old equipment, they are progressing and moving forward. In terms of economy, there is a lot of domestic work to be done. They need to clampdown on poverty & hunger instituting economic reform and a better social welfare system.Would progress with Russia and China)
-European Union:Rating 8.12/10(World's Largest Economy, partially socialist partially capitalist. Not "State-Like" enough yet,but they are working on it.Their needs to be a Unified military, which mainly Germany & France would head, but Germany is more advanced in terms of military technology.Their International Peace-Keeping force is not enough, they need a unified Military of the EU.Also all of Europe has to be included and Friendly relations with the Russian Federation are required for a long-lasting EU power.Economically not much is needed, apart from a more central system because there are so many different members.Would Come Up in the ranks by itself)
These nations are not only being compared to the United States, but also their individual capabilities analyzed and critiqued.Main focuses are Military,Economic,Political,Social,Historical,Technological & Problematic Factors. These can be summed up,but not always accurate. They mostly can provide you with Generalizations, but these are all characteristics of any Modern or Future superpower. No point saying 50-100 years because we honesty cannot predict that time period. But 2020-2025 is more plausible to be pondering on at the moment. What we do need to know is that the US is not the most powerful nation on Earth, but is definitely on of the most powerful.Yes they have huge economic and political influence around the globe, but it's still limited by those very factors. They cannot wage a full-scale war with all their technologies for more than say 6-Months,even shorter if the loss rate is appauling. No nation can,so they go back to time tested methods.
I Hope this has been informative, educational and entertaining to the mind.
Makes you think doesn't it.

reflexions over the next super powers
The Next World Super Power?
I firmly believe that the U.S. Will remain as a super power, but not the only one.Everybody has mentioned China and India as the next super powers along with theU.S. But those two nations will exercise more dominion in their respective geographical areas, causing them to a probable confrontation. As hard as it may sound the American people have to realize that their country its not the number one nation in the world and in the upcoming 50 years they will be down grated to a 3rd place behind china and India(that in the economic ground). Military speaking the U.S.Have a great gap of advantage over any nation in the world and will still do so for many decades to come; bottom line, they will be 5 spheres of influence in the world which are U.S.A., INDIA CHINA, E.U. RUSSIA (not in that specific order). One last word, throughout history two super powers could not co-exist which lead the to war (Athens-Sparta, Greece- Persia, Rome- Carthage, England- France, U.S.A.- Russia)
War is on the horizon, and that is a fact that history has shown over and over again.
Greetings fromMéxico

My personal experience tells me that there won't be a second superpower other than the United States within the next 50 years or so, maybe even 100+ years. In that time frame, China could become a great power; India could become a great power; Russia could become a great power; May be Germany? But, I don't see any of them has a good chance to become a superpower like today's United States (in the above time frame). Having a superior economic, military, and political influence requires an adequate system, the whole system rather than the political system alone. China is not close to having that. I would guess India doesn't have that either. Both countries are growing quickly today mainly because of low-cost labor on top of social/political stability. As the economy grows, low-cost labor will gradually disappear! An adequate system, the whole system, is required at that point to continue the growth. It is very difficult to predict which country can do that successfully before things unfold... Smaller countries might also have a chance, but probably a smaller chance.

The Next World Super Power?
no **** about EU... You should kno that if Russia, India, China, Japan come together... You'll know which country is the next superpower... But neither of that will happen cause now people don;t wanna be under each other or don't want to help each other out... So I think... The result would be same for all

response to "china as super power"
The Next World Super Power?
Response,
I do not necessarily believe that China could be the next super power. They could be, but they have their own internal and other problems. The USA is a great country and super power, and it can always be if the American people want to do it. The USA has only tapped perhaps 5 per cent of its potential, and we will have 500 million people by 2050.The problem the USA faces is the idiotic and cancerous American left. Their stupid policies like the virtual shutdown of the USA industrial infrastructure by the global warming crowd is a good example. The damage the left is doing to the USA is terrible, the global warming sham, the so called "Go Green" (communist)movement, socialism, bad business climate, communist tax system, bloated govt., multiculturalism garbage, etc etc etc.. If we as Americans wake up and stop the left we will remain great - and rich and powerful beyond imagining. If we continue down the path of the American left we will all be equally poor and miserable in this huge, blessed country called the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
