Hello to all, Opening this new thread regarding the working and non-working programs/softwares with Windows VISTA Beta 2. Whoever is using this beta release is asked to share their information on what programs/softwares works and doesn't work with their copy of the beta OS. Please remember - this thread is NOT about the list of features about the beta version, ONLY the programs/softwares which can be / cannot be run on this OS, with any issues/malfunctions. In response to your post, it's very likely that alot of programs aren't going to work with Windows Vista at first, this is simply because all operating systems apart from linux are uggy to start with don't you think? As well as that, Vista has alot ore hardware interaction than its predecessors because of the new filesystem, the new graphics architecture and the new window system. The graphics arcitecture is a massive step snce it's a complete change from Direct X, Avalon is supposed to use different hardware algorhythms and different graphics formats, so there's gonn abe lots of problems with htis between Microsoft and other companies because since Win 95 they've never changed the graphics core. In addition, like Windows XP, applications programmed for Vista are going to malfunction because Vista won't interact with programs perfectly at the start. Personally, I'm not gonna download vista 'til at least 6 months after its release because of all the security flaws. What do yo guys think?

Well i know trillian pro v3.1 works for vista and thats all i really have had time to fool with. Ill let you all know anything else i try out.

Well of course it's very likely many programs won't work with Vista because they make things too secure on that thing. Sure it is a good thing to be protected from security risks but that then makes it so you aren't free to do other things on your computer like run some of those programs. I'm not saying that is why they don't work but probably some. That's why I'm going to stick with XP as long as I can.

What Would You Rather Change In Windows
minor things that annoy me in Windows (5) This is not a Win/Linux/Mac dispute, rather pointing out a few minor things that I find really
annoying in Windows OS and I'd rather change if I had the chance/knowledge (disclaimer: I mainly
refer to winxp but I've used almost all other versions, I have some experience with Linux and
almost never used a Mac OS) copying/moving files: ever tried to copy a folder containing one or
more corrupted files? if I were the OS I'd just skip those and copy the good ones, then prompt a

operating sistem) and flash transparacy... The site structure is: Menu (dropdown with javascript)
and under that a big flash with wmode=transparent param enabled.. On mouse-over the menu is not
appearing because the flash hides it... With all other browsers it works. I understood that this

firefox 3. In below code changerows is not working for me. Where as same is working in IE6.

Backup Not Working [resolved]
(5) I am trying to backup my files on my account(in preparation for the next server disaster), and I am
unable to download it. In my CPanel I goto the back-up screen to generate a full backup. Once
that's done and its ready to be downloaded, It only downloads to 13% or 50mb before stopping.
With and without a download manager. It doesn't help that resume is not supported in download
managers. I have too many files on my account to backup with an FTP client, that would take hours
and hours. What can I do to get a backup of my account?....
