I posting this here because the mainframe of this post is related to health in terms of does wifi really damage your brain? To start off I have been wanting wireless for years and first my mum started saying about how anyone that had wireless could hack in then I pointed out that its password protected so not just anyone can hack in! Anyway she said she didnt trust it until recently my uncle who is ace with computers on the building, how they work side rather than coding etc actually using them he is probably above average... well anyway he explained it to her so she has no excuse. Then when I asked her the other day about it she said about how it damages the braine (she watched a documentary!)... now of course I dont doubt that it does every kind of wave affects us some how even radio waves however I doubt it will be strong enough to cause any noticeble or even lasting damage- using a mobile is even worse and I have one of them even though to be honest I wasnt allowed one till my 13th birthday because of "Health issues"! Anyway what do you think and if any of you can come up with a kickass counter argument it would be much apprecciated!

Most research agrees that wifi is not bad for your health. It operates at such low power levels that it is doubtful that it could cause any sort of harm, and a cell phone has much greater amounts of radiation (not that cell phones cause damage either, but they make a good comparison). This article from the BBC covers a lot of information about it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6676129.stm

Regardless of any information you're presented with, if you're worried about the health issues that come from having a wireless device, just place it in an area that is pretty open and away from you. If i'm not mistaken, most information presented deals with just one device, rather than several. For, of course, more than one device is bound to provide more RFE. And in an enclosed area, like in a car, is worse than outside in an open area. Even those with cell phones are told to get headsets if they don't want to place the cell phones on their body parts (like their waist).

There is a recent study about some disease from Mobile phones regarding sleep. They have seen that a person subjected to a radiation beam similar to the one of mobile phones seems to sleep less and wake up before. I have never heard anything similar concerning wi-fi.

It s best not to keep your mobile in your pocket all the time. It often happens that after a technology has been in use for over a decade, a study pops up saying that it is harmful for so and so reasons; so its best to take precautions. Ps. Levi's has made jeans which have pockets on the shin area, so that least radiation is absorbed by the body !

wireless technologies are all very new. they have been in the market for only about 5 years or so. the real effects of a technology or a product can be noted only if it is old enough to show its after-effects. this technologies are still in its early stage. here and there some labs come out with some results but we cant solely depend on it. there are cases where such small labs have gone wrong. whereas, we cannot totally push out their results also. there can be some element of truth in their theory also. so far, there hasn't been any major labs concluding that wireless technology is very harmful. there are research going on in many big labs. we can only keep our hands crossed till they come up with some conclusion. meanwhile, i don't think pushing away an amazing technology just for the sake of a minor element of doubt is a good idea. i suggest you to convince your mom to allow you to use it. if at all some research comes out with the bad effects of wireless technology then you may sit down with your mom, discuss it and take some action. good luck!

Iris Scanning Technology: Coming Of Age
(5) QUOTE THIS MAY SOUND incredible but the way technology is growing this will shortly be possible.
Research by Sammy Phang, Queensland University of Technology’s Faculty of Built Environment and
Engineering scholar, helps overcome one of the final obstacles to application of iris scanning
technology to unlock our homes, access bank accounts and log on to our computers. Of all the
biometric technologies used for human authentication today, iris recognition is thought to be the
most accurate. Iris is an externally visible coloured ring around the pupil of every human eye....

How To Avoid Red-eye.
(7) Red eye can be very problematic, and can make one's work look very unproffessional. Many
compact cameras and digital cameras have this problem, but it comes very seldomly with professional
equipment. You may be wondering, "How do I reduce red eye?" But first, in order to reduce red eye,
you must know the cause of red eye. So what causes red eye? Red eye is caused when a bright flash
goes off. Your eyes, or anyone's for that matter, do not have time to constrict when the flash
goes off. So the light goes into your eye through the pupil, and relfects of the ....

Unable To Renew Ip Address Or Connect To Internet After Broadband Software Uninstall
issues after removing DSL software (5) How many of you experienced this? QUOTE Unable to renew IP address Unable to start RPC service
You invite a broadband service, i.e. Verizon DSL, and they provide you with an installation disk.
You gladly use it but later you add LAN to your home and decide to add a router. You follow the
manufacturer's instruction and set up your home network. But this is strange... the computer you
were able to connect to the internet just before a home network is now cannot connect to the
internet. And according to the router manual you installed the program correctly but ....

The Marvels Of Technology
Smaller Device, Lots of Space (2) The marvels of technology surprise me to this day. Like my new MP3 player for example. It's a 1
gig, and it's smaller than my index finger. Or my newest phone, is like half the size of my old
one, with a camera, more features, and four times as much space for downloads. iPods are mildly
annoying in their marvel. They're tiny, but hold so many songs. Like the iPod nano, which holds
1, 2, 4 or 8 gigs depending on the generation. The marvels of technology amaze me. It makes me feel
old not just to remember cassette tapes, but to own a cassette player and cassett....

Voip
Not ready for Satellite Broadband yet (5) So I just got my VOIP router in the mail today and I immediately tried a couple calls on it.
We've got Wildblue satellite internet, 1.0M download, 200K upload. I tested out the upload speed
today and it came back with 237kbps at toast.net, so the bandwidth is there, but the far end
couldn't hear half of what I was saying. I heard pretty much everything from the far end, so
that worked all right. I'm going to call the company, voip.com tomorrow and see if they have any
suggestions on how to tweek it, but I'm not holding out much hope. I fear it's going....

Heard Of Oled?
latest visual technology (13) Hey guys have you heard about OLED? Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) technology An OLED is
an electronic device made by placing a series of organic thin films between two conductors. When
electrical current is applied, a bright light is emitted. This process is called
electrophosphorescence. Even with the layered system, these systems are very thin, usually less than
500 nm (0.5 thousandths of a millimeter). When used to produce displays, OLED technology
produces self-luminous displays that do not require backlighting. These properties result in thin,

Broadband In Gas
Carrying internet over gas pipelines (5) I recently read about a company called Nethercomm that is promoting a broadband in gas technology.
Apparently, this company has some patents pending on devices that can be installed in gas pipelines
that go to commercial and residential buildings to provide the "last mile" connection for broadband.
It appears the technology is based on radio frequencies propogated down the gas pipe as a wave
guide. Nethercomm boasts data rates up to 40 Mbps are possible to the home. Anyone know of any
actual implementation/trials of this technology going on presently?....
Use Of Technology In High School
(53) I really despise high school students that can learn real computer skills in their school; part
because my school's computer program is crap. Anybody can use the computer better than the
computer teacher, and most of us don't even get a computer class. The result? Half of my
classmates doesn't know how to use Excel or Powerpoint. Most of them hardly know what Photoshop
is. Technology is progressing at a really high rate, and it is becoming a big part of our lives.
You're basically disabled if you can't use a computer. So why doesn't high school ....
Sony's Patent On Apparent "matrix-like Technology"

extent, but this patenting is ridiculous. QUOTE The patent - based only on a theory, not on

off and make a patent on something currently in development and yet not fully developed and have
exclusive rights to the technology or what? And does that mean they have exclusive rights to that
technology? (I think so, but then, I'm not an expert in IP law) Anyway, this is ....

How To Make Firefox Faster If You Have A Broadband

the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make

Technology
good or bad... (32) Do you think humans should keep getting more technologically advanced, or should we start using
less? You see what I'm saying? We kind of being controlled by machines, if you know what I mean,
and we should live much simpler. I mean, we shouldn't get rid of all technology. I guess this
post is ironic because I'm using a computer. but That's my opinion. post yours.
