Windows Vista Beta Testing - What you think about it

sader
I allready tryed new OS "Windows Vista" beta.
Did you smile.gif? Tell us what you think about it.

Here's what I think.
Yee new style looks very nice:transparent windows, new minimize maximaze and close buttons shape and style, new explorer structure, new "start" swystem and afcourse new icons smile.gif

Like i sayd style is great but there is and many problems with drivers
allmost all my devices ware unknowed so I event couldn't connect to the internet sad.gif

And there is and one more bad thing. This OS eats to much computer recourses. My PC is not weak(1024 Ram, 3GHZ AMD proccesor, Radeon X800 video card) and it still is noe enouth "Task menneger"
trafic allways was green to the top.

Final word
I think I will wayt for full working version of "Vista" and till then I will keep use old XP smile.gif

Not that I'm not trusting you, but Windows Vista is currently only available to MSDN developers. I would think a MSDN developer would have better spelling skills and wouldn't exactly have free hosting here.

I'm just skeptical, don't mind me.

Anyways, Vista stands for:

Viruses. Instability. Spyware. Trojans. Adware.

Get Mac OS X Tiger. smile.gif

P.S. Moved your topic.

Windows is a virus in itself, as much as they say there not, and as much as they say there sercure. There is always a back door to the system.

The world is full of sercets justing to be hacked on a windows machine! biggrin.gif

How many sercurity patches do they release for on OS tongue.gif

You should really read the mastercard jokes on the second page referring to the picture.

Whoever tried Beta1, let me tell you what Beta 1 in Microsoft means. BETA1 is testing out the basic components and overall structure of the software. No special features, extremly buggy, and unstable to the point where it's like running windows '98 with a ton of DLL's missing.

The Windows Vista Skin is not going to stay the same. There is already more advanced designs that will go into the final version. This skin is used because it's simple... infact if you analize the code, you will see the skin system is the same as windows xp...

Vista Beta1 has already changed 32 times since the release... Beta2 is when you should download it.

If you are reading this, don't bother geting Vista beta1. Wait until 2, because then you can see what vista really has to offer and why it's going to be much faster and much more "simple, yet cuttingly a sense of hi-tech creativity".

nice anagram of vista hmmm i would try but not going to like, but yeah like everyone else going to wait this system out so how well it fares, i think the problem microsft has is that htier employees are doing illegal stuff remember microsoft gets all of its named brand computers made over seas and thus virus central, bill gates got to love the man for trying to make money the easy way, by screwing us over.

Whyme you are wrong about that. There are chosen people that are picked when you sign up from some site and they get to beta test Microsoft Vista Beta 1 for free. The release is supposed to be Tomorrow as in August 3rd. But MSDN people can get it early. So you are half right about him not being a MSDN tester and stole it from bittorent, or P2P software. I also think he stole it too, but hey thats how some people are... But I would wait until BETA 2 comes out. It will be a way better release. But Internet Explorer 7.0 beta is something to try. Its pretty stable and most sites support it! Well thats all i have to comment on Vista. So take my advice wait til Beta 2 to steal it if you have to but this release, its just not worth it.

I dislike it when people bash windows, but don't provide any backup to there statement. It seems like blind thrashing to me. If you've tryed the final release it's awsome. It's not as "buggy" as people say it is. But seeing as how beta is done and over with, and the final is out, I'm closing this thread. Please feel free to make a new topic in regards to the final release.

My computer is 8 years old. I've had a grand total of less then 10 viruses. The most common cause of viruses is porn, so unless you plan on looking up porn 24/7 you really don't have much to worry about. It all depends on what you do. And if you need to look at it, bad enough, don't bash windows, just get a Mac.

Yea man, I test drove Windows Vista Beta myself and I have about the same thing to say About the OS. Right now, I am running Windows Vista Ultimate and guess what man? The OS is dealing with my hardwares. It aint like I have a weak computer though (Intel ® Pentium ™ 4 630 HT 3.40GHz w/2MB OnDie Cache, 1GB DDR2 5300, 400GB HDD space, nVIDIA GeForce 6200 LE w/256MB video memory), but still that aint enough for the OS.

I know that I never had any problems with Win XP performance wise but Windows Vista Ultimate is something else altogether. Ok, I would say the Microsoft really tried where the Windows Aero Graphics effect was concerned but they oughta have thought about the kinda machines that would run the OS.

I read a review the other day which stated that up to 50% of US business machines cant run Windows Vista. Well, if you aint got a high (rugged) performance computer and graphics card, dont think about Win Vista.

The two problems I think Microsoft will have, in terms of Vista's sales when it is first released is that the previous gaps of Windows had a very short gap between hte next release. There's been a huge gap between the release of XP and Vista, so during that period, most people have gone up to XP and are quite happy with it. They'll be thinking, "why should I upgrade when the OS I have now does everything I need?"

The other problem, is that there are few programs which are really memory/cpu intensive. Not many pieces of software (im specifically excluding pc games here btw) fully take advantage of your "brand new Dell XPS" I reckon that with a 1.5ghz 512mb ram pc, you could run just about every program the standard home user needs to run, without any problems, so the home user might be thinking "Why upgrade to Vista or buy a new pc when my current one does everything I need?"

Vista will have a slow takeup but most computers will be probably running it by 2009. Fortunately, Vienna isn't scheduled for release untill 2011, giving Vista plenty of time to gain popularity.
