You might be able to do it with msconfig... built into windows, just go to Start->Run and type MSConfig. Although fiddling with this is quite dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Be careful. Also, if you drag and drop shortcuts into Start->Programs->Startup they automatically run at startup... funnily enough, I was actually doing that with Winamp just a short time ago as far as time delay start goes, you'd have to write or find a program. there's probably one around... maybe Google search "startup scheduler" or something. all the best

On win98se: start > programs > accessories > system tools > scheduled tasks to begin a process. The process would need a command line interface. To shutdown, there are settings for how long the machine is idle before it goes to sleep . rt-click Desktop > properties > screen saver > settings > power schemes. Does this help? You don't tell us what O/S you are using, and I don't know if the same features are available in newer versions of Windows, but this might lead you to discover something which works.

There is a scheduling program included with every version of Windows. As jlhaslip mentioned you can launch it from the Start menu. A few notes: You will see an extra icon in the system tray (the area by the clock); you need to be familiar with the programs command line parameters; scheduling programs to run is pretty much a breeze.

I recall a program called similar to "auto power on" or something like that... You could schedule programs to be startet or you could reboot or shut down your pc or you might be able schedule your pc to wake up from standby!! (depends on your system if that is possible) Maybe you find something when you search in google

How Many Times Do You Reinstall Windows In A Year
There goes some useful tips about it. (15) I reinstall (restore) windows almost every 2-3 months. What about you??? Seeing the title some would
say "I do it daily" and some others "How to reinstall?". Let's see the poll results. Linuxers,
see you in other post. Reinstalling windows is a daily chore for the students studying computers.
They have to switch a lot of softwares, compilers etc etc. Windows as we know, will not tolerate a
whole lot of (Un)installations and will ultimately slow down the whole system. This is not the case
with Linux. Just consider this, I installed Red Hat WS 3(the older version whi....
Windows Xp & Ubuntu’s Cold War
(5) This is an essay I written for a my linux class and I thought I would give my thoughts about how I
compared XP with Ubuntu. QUOTE Windows XP & Ubuntu’s Cold War In 2000 years, there
have been many epic battles, many of which have produced both heroes and villains and many producing
winners and losers. However, in today’s world another cold war is brewing, that cold war is
between Microsoft’s Windows XP and Ubuntu. They will never pull out all the stops and launch
nuclear missiles, but instead will try to provide a whole new world for people t....

code name Midori and it is based on the Cloud computing concept, which by the way Dell is trying to
copyright this name for. All I know about cloud computer is that it will be internet based

Windows Xp: Explorer.exe Crashes On Certain Accounts
(3) I share a Windows XP computer with two friends, and we each have our own User Account on the
computer. Recently whenever my friends use the PC, they begin to have problems with it. For no
reason whatsoever, Windows Explorer will crash and close all the current folders that are open. I
went onto their User Accounts to see for myself (with permission, of course), and found that
Explorer would crash any time I right-clicked a File, and would also crash on occasion if I clicked
"File" on the Folder Window's Menu Bar with a file selected. It also happened on rare occasion....
Open Program Copyrights For Third World Nations
By making software free many can become employed (7) I propose the idea that giving free premium software to those who could never afford a purchase can
only help the owners of that software. Some say that if a sale was never going to happen it
can't be a lost sale. I agree. If people can get started learning to use programs they could
never buy, they may develop skills and abilities that would enable future revenue and loyalty. At
the same, time a third world nation can have more development as skilled and trained professionals
grow. Another important issue would be addressed as well. Piracy. By lifting the copyrig....
Best Video Editing Software

of skills, you can download plenty of add-on effects and you can futher mod it if you wish in After

their newly upgraded versions. The new CS3 Prefixed Premiere is now compatibl....

Lightweight Free Anti Virus Software?
(6) Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew of a good free lightweight antivirus program, as I just got
an internet connection on my slower computer. The computer itself can hardly be called
internet-ready, it's over 10 years old, but it still works fine, the problem is I'm worried
that an antivirus program would slow it down too much. (I have Norton Antivirus and Firewall on my
other computer, which is much faster, and it slows down the computer a lot, especially booting. I
kinda want this computer to be usable online.) I know that there are some great programs out ....
Internet Connection Sharing With Xbox 360 And A Laptop

Software To Remove Voice?
(10) I am looking for a free software which is able to remove a voice in a song? To just keep the tune,
something similar to the karaoke, I do know that not many songs provide only the tune for which
there isn't any singing. I have been searching for quite some time as well, but the programs I
found did not do just that. I have also read about how impossible it is to achieve with the programs
because they only filter out some frequencies and it isn't possible to filter out to the point
that only the instrumental part of the song is heard. But nonetheless, I hope someo....

Is There An Adium-like Im Client For Windows?
(18) Recently I've been getting sick of connecting to so many accounts on so many different clients.
