| | Window Media Player or Winamp? Which one do you like? Reason.
I like Both though I use Window Media Player to play movie instead of using it to listen to music. Window Media Player I use it when that I watch anime then having a codec attach to it. It is easier to watch it through Window Media Player.
Winamp, I used it to play songs. It is easy to use and simple. You can have a movie on Winamp too but it is a bit hard (for me) to use through Winamp and play the movie. When you play songs you have adjust a sound too, or tune it. |

I use Window Media Player for music and videos because I don't find any point of installing another player that does the same thing, since Window Media Player is already included in Windows OS which we've paid for it. The features in Window Media Player and Winamp doesn't make huge differences as well. If anyone prefers Winamp, please state your reason too, I really want to know why people still like an additional player which does the same thing.

Before my audio driver went I had used both Winamp and Windows Media Player. I used Winamp to listen to my music because Windows would be a pain in the butt because it froze. I would use Windows Media Player to watch trailers to upcoming movies. All in all I liked them both, for some kind of reason that equaled up. I don't have either anymore due to my audio not working but if it worked then I would definitely have both. I depended on them both. Ever since I've been without, music just hasn't been the same.

same here.....i use both windows media player and winamp as well. it seems to me that most of the people follow the same thing that they use WINAMP for the music and WMP for the videos. The best part about Winamp is that it is very easy to operate and has loadz of plugins through which we can improve its performance. well, i use WINAMP version 2.9 because it is light and uses less resources.

I use both - Winamp for music files and Windows Media Player for movies, trailers, etc. Winamp is quicker to start up in the first place and is pretty much all I need if I just want to play files without waiting for WMP to start up. Aside from that I also use iTunes.

I use both because Windows Media just takes too long to load. With Winamp you click and its there, WMP takes ages and just annoys me.

well, i must say that winamp is my favorite! There are several reasons...First I think it is esteticaly speaking a lot more beautiful than Windows Media Player (WMP). Than I think it works faster evethough it is not directly implemented in windows. If you have a slow computer than winamp should be your choice without any fancy skins or stuff like that. It also takes less ram and eats less disk space. It also has many more plug-ins and other adds than WMP and the most important thing is it is A LOT more simple to use. Than there is media library and internet radio. I think that winamp offers wider and better range of internet radios than WMP, although i don't really know how good WMP's are All in all....I LIKE WINAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!

For most of the music I play, I use iTunes, with Winamp as a backup. For movies however, it's Windows Media Player Classic all the way. With WMP Classic (with Real Alternative installed), you never have to struggle to find correct codecs, and subtitles work like a charm -- you don't even have to configure the path to them, they just play. I also have the VLC Media Player, and Zoom Media Player because I find that they usually have a higher success rate in playing incomplete files that other programs automatically deem as 'corrupt' from the get-go.

I was a great fan of winamp and used it all my life until i got Win Vista which have improved and integrated the new Windows media player so good, that I really enjoy using it now and one most important thing that made me change this program is SPEED! It opens in a fracture of a second while winamp really do take some time to load and do stuff...Plus the library of windows media player is very nicely integrated with windows vista features... In windows XP I always used Winamp!

I use winamp for almost everything. It takes much fewer resources and is quicker. You can watch video, sync an ipod, etc. along with all the features of WMP. Another reason i use it is because of the plugins for it. There are amazing DSP plugins for winamp that really improve the sound quality of your music no matter what the rate of encoding are and there really are not any good free ones for WMP. Another thing is that winamp has lots of internet radio stations that you can access right away that are very good quality.

I don't use Windows media player because I use BSplayer Pro which I think is much better for watching movies and videos. It also has more features and can do things which Window media player doesn't. For music I use Winamp because it was my first program for mp3s when I got a computer that could play them and I got used to it and that's why its the only program I used to play music for several years. I know they may be other good programs maybe even better than Winamp but I was lazy to check. What I think could improve in Winamp is that it uses too much resources. And I use the modern look Winamp because I like the look of it.

Windows Media Player 11 for XP Review Ok, my first impression while downloading is… DAMN
this is a huge file. 22.9 Mb to be exact. So it took me about 2 and a half hours to download. Now,
the installation took a while, but it went smoothly, and gave me 2 options to use WMP 11: Express,

nice. The glossy look portrays a look of vista, while the 3-D graphics blow the old WMP out of the

From What I heard about WMP11, Microsoft's original plans for Windows Media Player (WMP)
11--formerly code-named Aurora--were fairly low-key, with just a few minor new features. That's
all changed: Microsoft has canceled Aurora, and the company is moving the Longhorn media player to
XP. Now code-named Polaris, WMP 11 will be a major release. There's just one problem: Instead of
shipping in November, as per the original plan, WMP 11 will now ship in a public beta during that
month, coinciding with Longhorn Beta 2. The final release is roughly scheduled for ear...
