Which Forum Software Should I Use? - Please suggest me some scripts

OK, here is my predicament, I know I've posted this before, but... This time I have tried both forums... I am trying to decide between IPB and phpBB. Here is what I want for my forum from each software... I like the ease of use, and simplistic design of phpBB. I like the many feature of IPB, such as changing rankm colors, and the rank masking system for forum permissions. I also want three of the mods I currently have on my forums, the Army System, IBPro Arcade, and D2-Shoutbox, I know phpBB has an Arcade mod, and a Shoutbox, but frankly they both need some work and are currently crappy. I also like the theme of IPB. But the IPB 2.x is not yet ported to PHP-Nuke, like 1.x is.. So, what is your input based on what I said about each individual software.

If you forget about the mods may I recommend SMF? Its a great board with lots of development going on as of now. You can check it out at www.simplemachines.org
huh.. this time i gonna be on a fresh meat.. use ikonboard. i can provide you to view my demoboard running on trap17. flexible, simple, reliable and nice cosmetic. but this is perl cgi thou. still free, functionality much like ipb,vB and simple like phpBB. you can track my thread at my sig. good luck...
Maybe this will be of use: Its the simplicity of phpBB with many pre-added features... I use it too on 2 sites now and people keep requeting on GUA lol

Just want you to know that IPB 2.0.x isnt free and I dont think it'll appear at phpnuke, so phpbb is a rather good choice for free boards with its flexibility...
I would say your best choices would be either the latest IPB 2.x, or VBulletin, though they are both paid. But I'm not sure if they work with phpnuke.
If you don't care if it works with phpnuke and you just want a free one that is like IPB, go to www.invisionfree.com, it's IPB 1.3 (I think) minus a few features, but it's free, all it does is ad an advertisement at the top of your page.
But, other than that, I suggest you just go for something like PHPBB, I think that is compatible with PHPnuke, in fact, I think it comes with PHPnuke, no?
However, if you already have a paid IPB board of course you should stick to it cause IPB attracts more members if you're using paid ones and you'll not waste the license...
Or if you want use some others like yabb and smf, which is good to experimental with...

However the invisionfree domain has only a basic google search function (full forum search capability disabled), but redirect/mask domains to the invisionfree address which is usually s(number).invisionfree.com/forumname.
Invisionplus, not much difference to invisionfree, but some differences are that a subdomain is provided and full forum search capability is provided. However the reliability and speed may be questionable at times, but uptime is generally very good.
It still hard to decide, with regards to free forum software, which one I would choose.
I like phpBB, except for the fact that it takes too long to install mods. I also like SMF, but the skins are plain ugly...
With regards to paid software, i love vBulletin...sorry if you like IPB, but I guess im more looks orientated to solidarity...and i really dislike the look of IBP

Hi ... Please I need help quickly ... I am an administrator of a "IPB-Invision Power Board Forum"
and I cannot login in the ACP (Admin Control Panel) anymore. When I write the user name and password
both are accepted and the login is successfull but then suddenly I get an error message that says:
Could not retrieve session record What can I do to solve the problem ? Please help me

In a subdomain of my site I have an installation of MediaWiki, and until now it's been working
fine. But today I've been having trouble with it. Previously, whenever I logged into MediaWiki
it worked first time and I would stay logged in for about an hour, even without the "Remember Me"
option checked. But I tried logging in now, and after logging me in, the next page I went to showed
me as "not logged in". I cleared the cache as I know this has been a problem before, and then tried
logging in again, but it still said I was not logged in! So I tried one more ....

What do you think the most useful software out. For me its Aim, xfire, or Notepad. Most people
won't understand notepad but watever. For my favorite Explorer is Firefox. I never upgraded to
3.0 but who cares talk people!....
I really like using software that have very good user interfaces. Most mac softwares are really
good-looking (Adium, DeliciousLibrary) but most Windows applications are just plain ugly. I was

Just got back on line. Things have been quite a mess here for the last few days. On
Thursday night June 12th we had a tornado and 80+ mile-an-hour winds in my town. The tornado
evidently didn't touch all the way down to ground level as only very old, tall trees were
toppled or uprooted. Falling trees caused much damage to houses, cars, power lines and telephone
lines. Lost electric power for over 20 hours at my house and others still don't have power.

Its really distracting seeing people "create" what they think are master pieces on windows movie
maker. Its the lamest and really requires no skill. So im gunna whack my vote on Adobe Premiere Pro

Hey guys, Sorry if this isn't in an appropriate section it's kinda difficult to navigate
all the sections to find one that suits each issue, and from what I can tell there isn't a

When you delete file and empty recycle bin (Windows), it doesn't actually gone permanently!

Concidering it is a part of the rules that we put signatures in the signature portion instead of
typing it every time you make a post, i made this to tel people how to put the signature up for
people to see. It will automaticly be added to the end of every single post you make! First Off
you need to go to "My Controlls" which can be found in the top right hand side of the screen...
