A classic book, that makes me feel warm, is the wonderful
novel written by Michelle Magorian, Goodnight Mister Tom.
Its a masterpiece about loneliness, friendship, loss and love.
It's a book for all ages, and my favourite one.

My second choice would be The Shadow of the Wind written
by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. It's also a masterpiece, and skillfully
written novel. I read the first chapter or two and was
completly swallowed up by the story, and I couldn't stop
reading before I reached the last page.

my favorite is les miserables by victor hugo. though i read the abridged version. hehe. its the only classic book that i actually finished and liked. how sad.

GOODNIGHT MOON!!!! lol but seriously...classics...uh, idk if its a classic but to kill a mockingbird was really good, made me soooo sad.

Good question. I konw they've had the topic of favorite book but I didn't even begin to think about classic books. I guess you could say that my favorite classic book is to kill a mockingbird. It's just an amazing story that really stood out to me. I enjoyed it a lot and learned a ton of stuff about racism and unfairness. The characters were all playing this book out in my mind as I read. Really good book.....good movie too.

I don't know if it counts but what about "Lord of the Flies"? That's a classic IMO and definitely shows a lot about society and personal behaviors. The idea of kids living alone on an island trying to make the perfect community is such an odd one.....but it's so entertaining. It definitely reflects problems in normal day societies.

Mine favourites are the Aghata Christie's books. They are all interesting, and when you start to read, you couldn't get away from the book

From her books, mine most favs are: Death Near Nile (<LoL<That's the book), Ten Small Negroes, The Heroisms of Erquil Poaro... And much more

Alrighty. This is kinda weird for me to post this because I really don't read that much but
there are a few that I truly love! First of all, I really like "The Davinci Code" and "Angels
and Demon's" Both outstanding books! Great plot! Unexpected endings! Kept moving to

As I Lay Dying - Faulkner's Classic (1)

Has anyone here read "As I Lay Dying"? by William Faulkner. I recently had to read it for a
literature class at the U. At first I was put off by the style it was written. (it had about 15
characters narrate the book). I guess it grew on me eventually, It was about a southern american
family who tried to fulfill a mother's (and wifes) wish to be burried in a nearby city. Sounds a
bit boring, but it was interesting, and I'm not even really into fiction anymore. at any rate,
if anyone has any thoughts about this book i suppose this is the place. ...

Greetings and salutations to one and all! I can't be the only Harlan Ellison fan here, so
I'd like you all to come outta the woodwork and talk to me! For those who don't know...
IMHO Mr. Ellison is just the best writer the 20th century produced. It's hard to categorize his
work, but whatever you do don't let the man himself or a rabid fan ever catch you calling it
