I like phpBB. It's not the best, there should be more features. But it's very easy and nice. With styles you can make it look good. i think that ipb may be the best. it's better than phpbb, i know. i haven't used vbullentin, so i don't know.
Invision powerboard seems pretty good snce this beast of a website was amd out of it. I like the layouts alot.

YaBB is so nice, easy to use and also it has many developers, and it's so customizable and opensource.
for me YaBB SE is the best!!
The problem with some of the PHPBB pre-modified boards is that they have some modifications that you dont want, it slows your board down alot.
My vote is with VBulletin although the price... lol
I use IceBB (icebb.net). It's being developed by some developers that used to work for Invision but decided to break off when IBP went comercial. It is a very great board.
