| | OK, so far I have tried now.nu and da.ru but both sign-ups failed, hence rendering the subdomain I wanted invalid forever and ever and ever and ever.
Why I don't want to try .co.nr is because they require a button link on your main page, even though they claim it is ad-free. That is one of the reasons why I won't use their service - I hate people who make false claims.
The other reason I won't use their service is because the site I'm making is for a school submission and it just is going to look very stupid/irritating to have a site that you worked a million hours on, and all that work ruined by a dumb button link that blinks "Free Domain Names" every other second.
It's frustrating. I want to break something now.
Anyone has other recommendations for me for a short subdomain redirect service preferably with URL cloaking.
Thanks for all your advice/comments!! |

There is also cjb.net which is awesome but recently i've noticed they have a small bar on top of your pages. If you dont mind that try it, many people say its the best small subdomain redirect.

i was going to say ne1.net, but you already pointed that out, well theres another one but its no good, since you get a tinyurl.com/33kkn <-- :/ you dont really get to choose well its just to shorten the url really tinyurl.com, i HATE dot.tk cause they advertise when you go to a site with a .tk >.< so the best one, or i would use is ne1.net havent seen better ones :/ if you find a good one please tell me -Microsoft

Well, if you use cjb.net's DNS services, it can make your life better... no ads, and allows you to use emails... for example, if you registered "dooga.cjb.net", you can set up emails for it, like "fake-email@dooga.cjb.net" (ignore any - or ... it's just to prevent bots from spamming... I don't want to get lots of errors)

http://shorturl.com/ is my favorite because you can choose from a number of different extensions. I think you said this was just for school, but if it isn't I would recomend simply buying one. You can get them at godaddy for about 10 bucks a year!

Well, I liked "metamark.Net," which makes your URLs pretty short. For example, you can turn an URL like "http://www.Google.Com/search?hl=en&q=URL+Shortening+Services&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=" into "http://xrl.Us/ouh6p." Plus, you can choose your URL. But Snipurl is different. It lets you choose your URL as well, but I like Snipurl better. The URLs look something like: "http://snipurl.Com/4jsrl." Even though the URLs are a little longer, you can choose a private key, and it automatically copies your snipped link onto your clipboard! Pretty nifty, might I add. And very spiffy if I do say so myself~ So, those are the two best URL shortening service (in my opinion, of course). But some other I have checked out are: "tinyurl.Com" (Just like most URL shorteners, you can choose your own URL), "doiop.Com" (similar to tinyurl), "zipmyurl.Com" (this service is nice, but not nice enough to satisfy my "needs"), "notlong.Com" (notlong MAKES you choose your URL name, which I don't like. I mean, really, it's a service. But notlong does have a comparison chart of a couple other services), "is.Gd" (good, short domain, but you can't choose your own URL? Not was I was expecting when I first visited the site), "moourl.Com" (pain in the butt for me to use, but whatever floats your boat, you know?) And so that's my list. I think Snipurl is the best to use. But, sorry if that list isn't what you were planning for. snipurl.Com/4jtiv Actually, I'm not sure 'bout that "complete list" part, but it's a list that's way longer than mine. I'd like to add more to my list, but that link just might be what you're looking for. Besides, it'd take too long to type a complete list. And so, if you read my entire post, I congratulate you. I'm almost at 3000 characters, and my hands/wrists/arms hurt. So, again, I congratulate you. Thanks for reading~ -reply by Timothy

I would personally say co.nr is one of my favourites out there, the button is pretty simple and it one of the better because you know what type of advertising you are going to get, with dot.tk i am getting ads coming up every time i go on my site and their banner will not go with most webpages. I also found their e-mail forwarding doesn't work very well either. Hope This Helps. thewebber1988 - - - - - - - - - Are You Local? - The League of Gentlemen

Free E-mail Service

I remember I time when everybody I knew had hotmail accounts. Free, fast, easy....but somehow
whenever I saw someone with a an e-mail address that ended in "@hotmail.com" my mind screamed
"Noooooooooob!". Did anybody else get that feeling? Does anybody still get that feeling? I've
always heard that a person's e-mail adress should look at least somewhat professional,
particularly when putting it down for something important, such as a job applicatiohn. After all,
would they rather hire "JoeJohnson@nc.rr.com" or"Fuzzy_Pink_Bunny_Slippers1982@slumberparty.net"?

Free Redirect Domains.

I found some place that gives free redirct domains. http://dot.tk you sign up and get an adress
like example.tk and it redirects you to another page. I use it for a free forum's URL since it
was too long. It is completely free and easy to use......... like it will ask you for contact info,
but they dont use it so you just enter in some made up stuff, a contact e-mail (that has to be
valid) and presto, you confirm it from and e-mail and it is activated. No payment no hassle. I just
thought some of you might want to know about it....
