The only book there that I ahve tried reading is the Hobbit. After 50 pages though I just got bored and stopped reading. The only books that I have properly read are all the Harry Potter books.

I don't know what I think of the books that you own because I find reading boring and a waste of time. Making graphics or riding a bike are much, much, much better than reading. Atleast they don't waste time

Reading is part of life and teaches you things, just like anything else.

To me, I would say you have a good choice of books there. I really liked the hobbit and the lord of the rings trilogy was just awesome(as well as the movie) and the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and all the books after it are just great. I kimda got a huge "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Omnibus" which contains all the five books and that bonus story "Young Zaphod plays it safe".

i say you got a good collection going and no reading is not a waste of time. what would you do if somehome a nice electric surge just blew out the world power you have nothing to except read and eat also the reason most people find books boring is that they do not understnad what they are reading or have no imagination to get into the book.

Yeah I agree with you Saint_Michael... we can't live without books, they rock! All of the best ideas are from books, most movies and tv shows are from stories someone has written... when we study in schools and universities, we're essentially studying from books someone has written, noting down disciplines tried and tested through the ages... so how can one not think reading is worth while? quiksilver - I think u have a good selection of books there, esp. the LOTR series, but the others are right, you gotta get into HP! yoofus - I think ur signature is very offensive, especially in light of the recent London Bombings.

Your books are pretty good, especially the LOTR Trilogy and The Hobbit, which I all happen to have. The Hobbit is one of my favorites, actually. I finished it in one day, it was all good! I recommend you read some Roald Dahl books. They made me have a lot of fun when I was younger. (I read them in the library when my mom is late in fetching me...) His books are good for all ages. It has a lot of comedy and adventure in it, teaches morals, and it makes you have chocolate covered and big-sized fun! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG and Matilda are some good things that'll get you started!

Books Into Movies
does it irritate you? (20) Me and my girlfriend are both pretty big movie buffs, but at the same time love to read. Lately
we've been having a pretty big discussion about our distaste for books being turned into movies.
The most recent "big" book title to be turned into a movie is, one of our favorite book series,
Twilight. Twilight is an amazing book and I'm really looking forward to the movie. She,
however, is very upset that they decided to make the book into a movie as it will "ruin her view of
the characters." We can both agree that the movie will not compare to the book; however,....

I'd like you all to come outta the woodwork and talk to me! For those who don't know...
IMHO Mr. Ellison is just the best writer the 20th century produced. It's hard to categorize his
work, but whatever you do don't let the man himself or a rabid fan ever catch you calling it
sci-fi. A fate worse than death awaits you if you do! If you aren't familiar with the man

What Is The Most Messed Up Book You Have Ever Read?
Tell us what books are really messed up, but not necessarily good/bad (9) I myself just started reading the book "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis. It's seriously
the most effed up book I have ever read. I was reading during "DEAR" at my school today ("Drop
everything and read".... hella retarded name) and my mouth gaped open in awe at what I was reading.
I was like oh em gee, dudes!! This stuff is messed up. This guy, the "protagonist" (Though
the reader kind of hates him too), is a psychotic. He is very homophobic and hateful towards almost
everyone . He rapes his girlfriend. He went up to this bum and started offeri....
Books Converted Into Movies Or Movies Into Books.
Once again I find a new topic about something and movies... (15) Hello! I hated Harry Potter. It was good at the first few movies, but it just got worse. I have
lost interest. Unforunate Events was good, I liked it. It was funny, but in the movie the wedding
play was supposed to be before they moved into Monty's house. Otherwise, it would have been
better. If you would like to say which book should be a movie, say it here or share your comments of
the movies that are already out. I like books converted into movies, but the novels thay come out
with for the movies are weird. Most have 8 SCREENSHOTS FROM THE MOTION PICTURE! ....
Bret Easton Ellis
His Books.. (1) I don't know if many people read his books, maybe some have read American Psycho but aren't
really into the author. I happen to be a very big fan of him, it all started when i read The Rules
of attraction. Its about 3 people (Sean, Lauren, and Paul) Sean happens to really like Lauren, and
Lauren kind of likes Sean, but at the same time Lauren is still in love with victor. Meanwhile, Paul
(lauren's ex) has a crush on Sean. Another character happens to have a crush on sean...but its
not so promising, and she is probably my favorite character in the whole book....

What's Your Favourite Book? Why?
A small investigation about most popular books (94) The question is very simple, what is your favourite boook? And why? I have also added a small pool
about how many books do you read each year. Anyway my favourite is L.A. Confidential written by
James Ellroy. It's a very good police story with a intriguing plot, but it's also a
masterpiece of politic and social analize. The power games of institutions, the corruption that have
attacked police and government and the general undeground atmosphere are the pillars fo this
beautiful book. It isn't a simply police book, but a fresco of a society and of a period of ....
