Top combination = Photoshop + Dreamweaver + Flash or Illustrator  but if your budget doesn't stretch then just basic word of publisher are good... not for scripting just basic html or xhtml.

Photoshop... and well.. nothing really needs to be said about photoshop... its awesome.... For coding, I use notepad. I have dreamweaver... but really I may as well uninstall it... the only thing I find its useful for is spell-checking... because I don't have MS Word  ... The major advantage to using notepad is that you increase your skills and abilities in coding, and word processign in general. And you can feel special knowing you used nothing but a text-editor... lol I think large web-editing programs are a waste of space, time, and money. With practice you can do it all from scratch, and you grow much more in your abilities.

I agree with KansukeKojima, I also use only notepad (++) and Photoshop. Altough for complicating designs i use microsoft expression or microsoft visual web developer for web applications. I used Dreamweaver as well but in my opinion its to complicated, so many buttons and stuff, it makes me dizzy

i use dreamweaver together with notepad++.. dreamweaver is fairly easy to use once you get used to it's interface.. it's also suitable for coders and designers alike.. notepad++ is free and i usually use it for coding..

Myself I too use Dreamweaver, notepad PSP. but I find myself using note pad more and more. Just wish that some of the Flash programs and PHP programs was as simple.

I also happen to link dream weaver. when I started out doing pages, I was using coffeecup, but was limited with what I could do. then a good friend bought me a copy of DW as a christmas gift. Between that and paint shop, fireworks. I have really enjoyed.

What Is The Best Free Html Editor?
(8) im looking for any kind that is free really.... i use windows but if you have one for a different
platfor, go ahead and add it for reference for other users. If you have one for normal text editor
and wysiwyg, add them both. i have been using notepad as my normal html editor but im looking for

Has Anybody Tried Ms Expression Web Html Editor
It's much better than Frontpage (3) I was desperate to finish a site I was designing after I lost my hard drive and my software. I
downloaded Expression Web from the Microsoft site for a 3 month free trial, and guess what? It's
surprisingly good! Nothing like that crappy frontpage, it's standards compliant and very
good for writing CSS. Haven't heard anybody mention the program and wondering if anybody else
has tried it out. It's free to try from the MS site.....

It is NOT like frontpage!!! (4) Many folks asking about best html editor available, and I notice nobody seems to know about MS
Expression Web. It's very cool at designing standards compliant pages, CSS just drag and drop ,
it validates and highlights your errors in code view, etc. It's available as a free 3 month
trial for download on Microsoft's website. Yes, I hate frontpage as much as anyone, but I lost
my hardrive a few months ago in the middle of designing a site and lost my software, so NVU and
Kompozer both act like frontpage putting garbage in your code and I stumbled across this....

Need Help Designing Website For Online Novels
Making lots of text comfortable to read (3) I want to start getting my website hammered out, and I realize that I'm not exactly sure how to
balance an attractive design with basic readability. I generally don't like templates and
programs, preferring to work things out from the bottom up as much as possible. I've got some

I need a new web designing program (13) Ok, I am a web designer and I am having difficulty finding a good program that I can use that as
what i'm looking for. Now I have been using TSW Webcoder but it is causing alot of errors for me
and am getting sick of it wiping clean some of my site files. Well I am looking for a program that

Dreamweaver's a good Webdesigning Studio (22) I recently downloaded Macromedia's Dreamweaver 8, and I can say that it is the greatest
webdesigner that the world has ever seen! The only problem is that it costs too much money in my
tastes, but otherwise it is perfect! Does anyone know of a webdesigning studio that does not
cost any money and that can be downloaded off the internet? I tried using Notepad++ (search Google,
I cannot recall the site) and it is a coder, but not a webdesign. It doesn't actually show you
what the site will end up looking like, but it shows you colour-coded codes for your sit....

Which Program Do You Use?
For Graphic Design ... (3) I use Paint Shop Pro 8 and Paint Shop Pro 9 myself, and they serve my graphic needs really well. I
mostly create fan fiction banners for Harry Potter Fan Fiction and Fiction Central via this
site, The Dark Arts . The Dark Arts is a graphics community which make forum graphics, fan fiction
banners, etc. I'm getting Adobe Photoshop CS for Christmas , and then I'll be using both.
I find PSP easier now, but friends of mine who use Photoshop say that it's easy to use.

Dreamweaver Permissions Issue
Access denied when trying to FTP (5) Okay, so I was trying to FTP these files over dreamweaver today... and it seemed to be working fine.
But then, certain files won't let me transfer from my hard drive to the internet, or the other
way around. It gives me this error message: QUOTE An FTP error occured - cannot put form1.html.
Access denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. Anyway, I know
that the file does indeed exist. I've opened it on my hard-drive... and it is there. But it
