Id have to say Azureus by far. For some reason all the rest dont seem to reach the same download speeds for me (not sure why). Also it seems to be the most commonly used any way
I have been using bitspirit and now azuresus, and i am looking for some other program. for a torrent app i just use bitcomit
I'm currently using µTorrent, but torrents are almost the same, you just have to have one that support the variest and torrents that you can almost find anything you wanted... I personally go for isohunt or mininova, but I rarely use torrent as their content is not totally legal and unsafe...
for a torrent app i just use bitcomit It is not bitcomit but BITCOMET and yes it is a wonderful program in my opinion. It has all the functions you need and I get top speeds with it...Another nice thing about it is that it doesn't eat up that much RAM and that is very useful with older computers (i don't care with my 1Gb of ram greetz
I also use uTorrent. I love it because it is a very small program that does not take up much memory unlike many of the other clients. Also, i just get better speeds from it. Before (i was using bitTornado) i got roughly 50 - 90 kbps depending on the number of seeds now i get 75 - 180 kbps depending on the the seeds so i obviously have stuck with it.
I second the usage of BitComet. It is an easy to use interface, but then again with regards to downloading torrents, there is no difference with which program you use because they all provide the same functions. Torrents are really coming out now, even websites providing downloads are providing torrents as an alternative to download along with mirrors. However I almost do not use torrents because they are way too slow for me, the fastest I have ever gone is only 27 kb/sec and that is when there are plenty of seeders, with a mirror I can go up to 700 kb/sec. But it depends on your preference and which works better for you.
I find BitSpirit to be the best. I have used many.. but BitSpirit rocks.. it gives you fast download speeds and is stable.. it can also download from private torrent sites without the waiting...
I use Azureus, mainly because it has never failed me. And if anyone says that this BitTorrent client gives you faster speed or whatever, they're lying or not too smart. The type of BitTorrent client you use doesn't really matter, it's the torrent that you're using that affects the speed. (And also your ISP of course.)
Azureus a bit of a computer resource hog, so if you don't have a fast computer (like me...) then you're better off without something else. BitTornado isn't that bad. Latest Entries
uTorrent rocks already.
It haves an included search engine, it doesn't have the stupid XXX chat as BitTorrent does. uTorrent is the FTW here. QUOTE The type of BitTorrent client you use doesn't really matter, it's the torrent that you're using that affects the speed. (And also your ISP of course.) To reply to what one previous person says, and that no people who say this arent stupid, the bittorrent client can affect your speeds. First of all, not all clients offer advanced features for the user to tweak for their own ISP and router settings which obviously increase your speed. Secondly, if you have a client that hogs resources, your whole computer (which includes your down and up speeds) will suffer proportionally.
I have used Bittorrent , Azureus and Utorrent so far ... Well, here is a small review from my experience...
Azureus : It is the best out of the three i have used. Thats because , i got better download speeds in azureus than what i got in the other two .. But it drained my system resources a bit... So thats an issue if we use computers with minimal hardware... It also needs java platform to run on.. Bittorrent : Though i have it installed , i dont use it that often.. Only when i find something wrong with my Azureus, and utorrent ,do i switch over to bittorrent.. It does not need the java platform .. And it is more reliable than azureus i guess... Utorrent : The most fascinating thing about utorrent is its "lightweight" feature.. The standalone is about 120 Kb only.. But i didnt find anything exciting as far as the speeds are conerned..
I use utorrent. It's great. and it's very small and it use less memory to run. I have tried bitorent and bitcomet. Bitcomet was good but slow down my computer a bit but utorrent offers all the good features so i use it.
