| | I know a friend who's addicted to sex. Most of us are fond of it but this guy's totally obsessed. He's got the largest collection of pornography and watch them any time he can. All he ever talks about is the chicks he's been with today, yesterday, high school. I don;t know what to do with him. Maybe I should refer him to a therapist... |

I'm totally addicted to sugar, and soda, and it totally sucks. I weigh 530 lbs. I'd like to be on biggest loser, and maybe finally lose the weight, but that might be scary too. But hey it's life, right? Maybe I'll make $100,000 this year with my blog, and be able to pay for gastric bypass surgery.

Well i think an addiction is an uncontrollable craving, or seeking for something. Sometimes is could be referred as compulsive drug use, psychological dependence, and continuing use despite harm. Well I think my addiction is the whole computer and internet thing, I couldn't live without it. And I use it whenever I have the time to. Sometimes I procrastinate with work because I am addicted to it.

yeah.... if you see if we think logically, everything that we do in excess is an addiction. for example, sleeping for long hours, drinking tea or coffee more than 2-3 cups a day, always exercising etc etc. but, the key is if we can easily change or come out of that habit then i don't thing it is a addiction. it is just lack of motivation to come out of the habit. see, i have the habit of siting before the computer for a very long tme at a streach. but i can easily stop sitting before it if there is any other work to do. so i think it is not a addiction. it is just because i am not motivated enough to not sit before the computer for a long time. hope you get my point...

QUOTE(velma @ Mar 31 2007, 04:30 AM) Hello everyone, The other day I was talking to a couple of my friends and as I was nagging them to stop smoking one of them said that my nagging too is sort of an addiction like their smoking. I mean the fact that the habit of nagging is considered an addiction. That set me thinking that for all we know, Everything that we do might be an addiction, our computers, books, videogames, Junk food. I totally agree that Iam addicted to food, books, talking and games. Dont you think that posting too is an addiction in a way? Freaky but so cool. I'd love to hear about what you define as an addiction and I would love to hear yours Cheers Addiction to me is really defined by unhealthy behavior that affects you or others negatively, and is uncontrollable and often unobserved. In that, I'd say I am in no way an addict. However, I like to think that I am addicted to: -My girlfriend, gawd she's gorgeous -My computer, it's... a tool. Hahah. -My car, 72' red vw super beetle. HOW THE HELL NOT? -My family, I can't live without them -My studies, they give me purpose

Addiction? Well, let's see what a dictionary has to say; QUOTE("Dictionary.com") the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma. However, my view on the word "Addiction" is this; Basically, if you start doing something, you find it pleasuring, entertaining, or good to do, you do more of it. Soon, you'll realize you're doing it almost all the time. That's what I think an Addiction is.

Coca-cola Addiction
Sorts of addiction (16) When people talk about some kind of addiction they usually connect it with the drug abuse or drug
habit (cocaine, marihuana, ecstasy etc.) but I think that every thing that is consumed in high
quantity can be considered as injurious to health and it's after someone need it for ceaseless
use so we can say it's addiction. I'll give you an example with one of my friends that has
addiction to Coca-Cola. He always come to work with at least 1 bottle of 500ml, but often he can be
seen with 2 litres bottle. He drinks Cola all the day, in work, in the café or just ....
I Am Very Much Addicted To Internet
addiction to anything is a bad thing (19) I AM VERY MUCH ADDICTED TO NET and my freinds used to call me net-eria(means a net being) i
couldn't concentrate on my studies at that time but i worked over it to overcome that addiction
now i only spend 10 hours a week on the net only. i think it is not addiction anymore relative to
50+ hours a week which i earlier used to spend on the net and that too on cheap sites. i think
maturity comes only after some experience. ....
Addiction To The Computer
(26) Once I ever got to know how to use a computer and found out many things that a computer can do I was
surprised. It all started when I got on a computer for my first time playing a game that my cousin
had let me play. This was 5 years ago and now I am very addicted to the computer and if I stop using
the computer for about a day or week I feel like i'm gonna die or something. The only time I
don't feel like using the computer is when my cousins and families visit from other places. Or
when I play a video game that is not on the computer.....
Prescription Drugs
Beating addiction to prescription drugs (2) You could (and once upon a time I did) say just don't get on them, but maybe you didn't
break your sternum while you were trying to heal from four broken vertebrae. I was in the hospital a
very long time, and while I was there they gave me Dilaudid, which is stronger than morphine, which
is stronger than any heroin you'd find on the street. I was very worried because in my job I
meet people who got addicted to these medicines and ended up buying them on the street, losing their
jobs, etc. People I worked with lost their jobs because of it. Until this year, I....
Addiction To Games
(34) So I was watching the News the other day, which is slightly unusual to me when a Report came up on
Video Game Addictions. I thought this was sort of weird, because Video games don't contain
nicotine, or an addictive substance, at least I hope, but further on the Report started to make more
sense. It explained Video Games cause a psychological addiction ,and the addiction occurs because of
the experience, and the good feeling you get from playing them. I am a gamer myself and never
realized the addiction, so this Report sort of scarred me a bit. Now that I look back o....
Caffeine Addiction
Is Caffeine Really A Drug? (31) As many of you may have heard, caffeine can be considered a drug to some. What are your opinions on
this subject? Obviously, like any drug, caffeine can affect some, while others can be unaffected.
For example, I drink soda, usually two cans a day. Now, I have gone sometimes a week or two without
soda though, clearly stating it has no control over me, but I have heard it can affect others in
strange ways. For some caffeine consumers, if they go too long with it, they will get headaches,
nausea, etc. But I rarely see this is people. This is most people's defens....
Common Addiction Solutions
Ever gone cold turkey or cured an addiction? (5) Have any of you cured a common addiction that you or anyone you know have experienced? Feel free to
shout out any helpful tips or what you think would be the most effective way of solving an
addiction. Or simply add which method you feel would be the most effective. Whether you used an
advertised product to help cut down, made your own program or cutting down moderately, the use of
