Does anyone know any sure fire way to get a mass amount of visitors to your website. I knwo that my site is not on the top 20 list for most visitors. But I do want a good amount of visitors to my site to keep it active and also possibly to make a little profit off of. so does anyone know how to do this and do it for free and legally. anyway, using this would be bonus for you to understand "what your visitor looking for" from your site.. onestat dot com is what the trap17 using, have a look right corner, on the top of page "tracker".. and i'm also using.. i also have a good experience with this service also..
actually, there are also a lot of other resources which you can find on.. if you Google it!!

I think the key thing is content. Everyone who goes to a website likes to have lots of stuff to see/read/do. Think of what you would like to see in a website. I would like interesting ideas, a nice looking layout, something updated regularly. The more you work on your site, the more you will have for people to enjoy.

And hey, I think that is the point of it all - to get visitors, you need to get your links into a search engine, or on a forum, or talk to people about some other way. To keep your visitors, and hopefully have them come back again and again, you need useful content, and the more the better.

I'm just a newbie when it comes to websites though, so others might have some better information for you.

No, you hit the nail on the head right there. It's all about your content. You can have the best designed, most search engine-optimised site on the Net, but if your content sucks, people will come once and never return. In my opinion, you're just gonna drown in a sea of competitors if you try and be one of the sites that offers something for everyone. You need to focus in on a specific topic and then provide content that really appeals to the people of that area of interest.

That does sound true. I've heard some people saying that they make the most money on their sites that are strictly about one uncommon thing. I thought that if the thing was uncommon, you'd hardly get any visitors, but apparently you get enough to make it worth while.

Plus, the ones that you do get will keep looking back to you for more information, just because there isn't many other places to go. That sounds like a good thing to me.

You'd be surprised how many people are into uncommon things. I work with two Medieval re-enactors and until I met them, I had no idea about the sort of following it has worldwide - there's a whole industry built up around it and it's not until you're a part of it that you realise the full extent of it. So if it's like that for something (as seemingly) obscure as Medieval re-enactment, it's bound to be the same or better for other topics.

Content is a major factor in the attraction to more visitors but on those lines "attraction" itself is a priority aswell. Humans tend to gravitate and stay with things that look beautiful ( now im not saying doll up your site ) but make it appealing to the eye or maybe google for colour schemes that are known to appease people and create a mood of homely-ness and then try these tactics on your website. I know looks and feel play a major part in my surfing list cos i like flashy looking sites with all the bells and wistles but at the same time a cluttered website tends to turn me away since its hard to find exactly what im looking for wen you want it and manouverability becomes a problem then.

Tell me if im on the right track here with this idea
