There are some viruses that do, but not that many, most just damage software.
There are some viruses that can damage the hard drive by turning
fast destroing it. Anothers can turn off the fans to made the cpu overheat. But most of the viruses afect the software
yes...sadly there are some nerds out there that have NOTHING better to do than hurt peoples computers....so they just felt as if they HAD to create viruses. and some of which hurt hardware, but as people before me have sadi most will damage your software....but this can end up being just as bad as hardware....believe me! good luck!
yes...sadly there are some nerds out there that have NOTHING better to do than hurt peoples computers....so they just felt as if they HAD to create viruses. I can see the attraction of making them, as they seem fairly fun to make. Worryingly I can also see the attraction of spreading it, but I doubt I would ever do that. However I doubt I could ever spread a virus if I got round to making it, as I would feel guilty about the people it affected.
Virus is a software program created by experts to cause problem to the computers.
mostly it attacks on the operating system like windows or linux or mac however there are some viruses which affect the harddrives printers and other hardware stuff. to protect the computer from viruses one should try going to secure websites and opening email with attachment which you think is from a trusted source. Virus is a software program created by experts to cause problem to the computers. bill gates has made one that has infected the majority of computers in the world.
The short answer is now, but there are some that can disable your software from reading or making changes to hardware. But mostl viruses are designed by script kiddies and do annoying things like email them selves 5000 times and clog mail servers.
The worse part is when a virus zombies your computer and then allows folks to use it for a lot of bad things from piracy, to DDOS attacks, to a kiddie porn server. It really suck if someone did that to you and the authorities come blasting down your door.
Actually there are viruses that can damage hardware. There is already a topic talking about this, I'll try to find it.
Just to let you gets know, I won't say there aren't ANY viruses for mac/linux, but there aren't MANY. There are only a couple and they usually come through iPods and such. Easily detectable btw. No one makes viruses for macs because they figure we've suffered enough already.
Some viruses make the CPU run too fast, and then make sudden stops. This not only hurts your CPU, but it also hurts your hard drive and your fan.

I wouldn't say that it would be as bad as the hardware because you could always just do a system restore, or format your drive. With hardware you would be forced to pay for new parts to fix whatever the idiots broke Some virus dmg the motherboard immediately. That was wat happen to my previous comp... Yeah... I have heard that virus called Chernobil spoils the motherboard. Last year something happened with my HDD. In the morning when I opened computer it didn't start. It was unable even to format HDD. I thing it was because of virus. Eventually I have changed HDD. Some people say there are viruses that makes work of bios unstable and harms hardware with this way.
