Virtual Desktop and OS Emulators are 2 separate softwares that produce different functions. QUOTE So, first of all, what is a virtual desktop? Simply said, a "desktop" is what you see when you run windows: the actual windows desktop, with the icons on it; some open windows; some minimized windows. The main goal of the project is thus to allow working with only some of the applications visible at a time. Later, some other windows may be visible. The program thus allows to have a few set of applications/windows, where you can simply choose which group is visible, and switch between one group or the other. You can have 4 virtual desktops for example. The first one shows all your office work and programs like Microsoft Words, Excel, Powerpoint etc. And the second virtual desktop keeping your online and internet stuffs like MSN messenger, GoogleTalk, IRC etc. So on and so forth for the rest of the virtual desktops. Basically just to keep your desktop organised. OS Emulators, like VMWare and Microsoft Virtual PC, does not provide that function to organise your primary and current desktop. Of course if you installed the Virtual Desktop software within your Virtual OS, then your Virtual OS will have the look and feel of the organised virtual desktop. Virtual OS or OS Emulators just emulate another OS on your current machine without having to re-format your current computer.

I have never use virtual desktop or any related program before and I am now very much interested, I'll try this one and see for myself, thanks for the info.
