I have a Harry Potter website. I design graphics for my site in Macromedia Flash and Adobe Photoshop.
For making the avatars, etc. I need to cut scenes from the movie and use it in the GIF format. Can anyone suggest a [b]FREEWARE software which allows me to cut clips from any video and export (or save) it in the GIF format.
Did I mention that it has to be freeware!

I don't know a decent one that doesn't cost a good sum of money. Check downloads.com.

Maybe you can check the AVID website. I don't know, if it helps in your specific case, but it is a professional video editing software. They have a free version (the other ones are v e r y expensive, indeed) here: http://www.avid.com/freedv/index.asp

You can find a free demo on its official website of mainconcept.
Also you can download it from the following link:

It's a chinese website that your Pc may show some random codes. You can just click the middle active links. Then you will get the mainactor 5.2.13 and the keygen.
