Yeah, Both should be compatible with each other because they will always have backward support.
However, if some device has sharp requirements of a USB 2.0 port, then I don't think that is going to work.
usb 1.1 equipment will all work on a usb 2 configured port , but usb 2 equipment will not work on a usb 1.1 configured port.
Thank you! I was afraid that a produkt i will order not will support my USB 2.0 port.
QUOTE(niloc @ Oct 8 2005, 10:01 PM) usb 1.1 equipment will all work on a usb 2 configured port , but usb 2 equipment will not work on a usb 1.1 configured port. usb 2.0 will work on usb 1.1 port but the transfer rate will be the same as usb 1.1 you could go out and buy a pci usb 2.0 card and stick it into your computer. It's only $5 + (if you know where to buy it). I have an old computer that only have usb 1.1 so i bought a pci usb 2.0 card so i could get better speed between my external hdd and computer. And it worked great. Bought it for $5 at www.geeks.com on one of their "green light special" sell.
90% of all of my USB 2.0 products work on USB 1.1 but it goes slower and it wont charge things suck as my iPod (well at less than half the speed) but a little bit doesn't...
