1) do a google search for filezilla (should be the first link in google) if you prefer ftp method of transfer. Download and install. 2) in the address bar put your address of your ftp which should be something like ftp.<name>.trap17.com 3) in the username put your login name for the control panel *refer to your pm from wassie or admin for these details* 4) of course your password and port # will be 21 which is also default if left blank. **you can find these 4 input text boxes towards the top of the ftp program.** 5) once it is connected you will see a box on the right hand side that has your site and all the folders etc. 6) on the left hand side is your computer and all the files as you navigate through that are on your machine. 7) I always make sure I am in either a) my www folder on my site or my public_html folder. 8) then locate the files i wish to upload on my machine via the box on the left right click on the file(s) and select upload **to get files from your server reverse the process stated above. Note also that Filezilla is a free program under the GNU license**

Troubles Extracting Zipped Files
(15) Well I haven't been able to extract any sort of archived files. Everytime I do, no matter what
size they are, I seem to get a fairly big error. I forgot to copy the error, so I don't have
the exact writing of it. But, it has happened with .zip files and .rar files. ( I tried .rar just
to see if it would give the same error.) Has anybody had the same problem? I mean I could easily
just use an FTP and import file by file, but uploading by archiving the files is easier.....

(3) This is quite a complicated question so I hope it can make sense. I'm still to buy a package
for Web Hosting under the new MyCent rules. The problem I have that's stopping me from doing it
is, I want to keep the content that is on the site I own already. But I DON'T want to use the
same subdomain, because the subdomain I used to use referred to a part of my site now defunct. This
leaves me in a pickle because from what I can see, if you're planning on importing your old
hosting plan, you have to use the same Subdomain and give it's CPanel Username ....

allowed in the php.ini file of your server In the past, I've always been able to upload
images to Cutenews. I assume that file uploads are allowed in the php.ini server, since they always

How To Transfer Files Directly From My Computer To The Trap17 Account
(8) Hi! I've been hosted in trap17 for almost 4 months now. In the beginning, I tried to setup a
WebDisk to directly transfer files from my computer to my hosting account, but I didn't manage
to make it work. It might have been from my Vista's weird firewall settings, or my ISP settings,
I have no idea. Anyway, I used the File Manager since, as I don't have a lot of files on my
site. Needless to say, it is really annoying when I do just some little changes and I have to go
again through CPanel, FileManager, UploadFile... pffff So my question to you... How....

New to using content management, seeking advice. (12) Other than my aborted attempt at setting up a site on my previous free web host, this will be the
first time that I have set up a dynamic website with an SQL back end. I came from the Internet

Increase Upload Limit
(5) I had this setting done before, but I replaced the file and need to know how to do it again. That
is, increasing the max upload limit. It currently is set to 2mb(on my forum for uploading), and I
would like to increase it. I think that the limit is software related and not host related. How

have-heart.net/chantelle i was wondering if there was a way to install Chantellepaige.org into
cpanel, but only have it be for have-heart.net/chantelle if i cant, i might start a new trap17

Www Vs. Public_html [resolved]
(3) I didn't know where to post this..... this category seemed about as good a fit as there was. on
most webservers (my trap 17 one included), there is a public_html folder and a www folder, anything
uploaded into one also gets put in the other. so i am wondering what is the point of both of these
folders? can someone tell me why each one exists?....

As in, which directory? (2) I recently got approved for hosting. I have an account right now, but I don't know which
directory to post my FTP stuff in. (I don't know if this is in support or not; the search
results didn't return anything.) I remember with my last host that had CPanel that you had to
upload it into the "public_html" folder. So I do that, or do I just upload it into the root
directory? Thanks in advance! (EDIT: Oh, never mind, it is /public_html.)....
My Subdomain Not Working
imbibe.in (4) I have a addon domain in my account (ramansingla.info): imbibe.in All subdomains on imbibe.in work
fine but one. ike.imbibe.in isn't working. It's more than 24 hrs that I created it. Also
when I tried to change Nameservers for ramansingla.info at GoDaddy for Primary Nameserver I entered

there's still another question (2) I am just wondering, for example if I buy the domain www.test-test.com and redirect it to my trap17
site will I still have the subdomain I signed up with? So just breaking it down:
test-test.trap17.com *Before then add domain www.test-test.com can I still access my website using
test-test.trap17.com? and second question, can I use two domains and redirect them both to my
trap17 site, so for example I have two domains www.test-test.com and www.testing-testing.com can I
redirect then both to the same trap17 website? not saying that i will be doing this (domains are

Transferring Files From One Host To Another
Take my site to trap17 (9) As I said, I had to move my web site away from Trap17 temporarily because I had ran out of disk
space. Now, when my upgrade is finalised, I would like to ask for a little assistance. The provider
I will be moving my site from, back to Trap17 also uses Cpanel, and the admin let me know to do a
backup and that backup could be simply transferred via FTP to my new provider. The backup includes
all my files and MySQL data, in other words, the whole web site. It is in a .tar.gz format. How do I
get all this across? Do I 'unzip' the file and then transfer them bit by bi....

(15) I use a single php file for all my tag decorations and image calling so that each page is lighter
and therefore isn't bogged down with the same repeated code over and over, which allows me not
only to much easier change my layout and design (as I often do) but once I've finally gotten it
up and working here, I realized none of the links work, I doubled, and triple checked them over and
over again to make sure I wasn't making a mistake. I swore trap17 supported php, so why

Help Moving Mysql Files To A New Host
IPB files (2) Well, my partners on my forum has decided to move our site to a newer host. A paid one to be exact.

Can't get it going ... (8) I think I' ve done everything by the book. It was allowed on the forum ACP, it is allowed by
user, it seems to be allowed on the posting form, the tag list has been added at the ACP, the
preview accepts it , but the posts show the raw tags as part of the post. Is there anything else I
need to do? Does the Admin have to allow it? Is it dis-allowed for the trap17 free hosted accounts?
