I have a serious problem with Firefox: the cookies for some sites do not work. In other words, when I'm logged into a site, like as the admin on my gallery for example, my session ends immediately. My session behaves normally when I'm logged into my email services, but my cookies behave really weird in other sites.
I have two solutions to this, one drastic and the other not drastic. I can either format my computer and start from scratch, or I can completely rid of computer of any traces of Firefox, including ALL history, passwords saved, cookies, and cache.
I've chosen the latter for obvious reasons.
So my question is: does anyone know how to COMPLETELY uninstall Firefox? Please do not say something like "Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs." I've tried that, and it does not work because all my older settings were still on my computer.
And just in case something messed up in the insatllation of Firefox and something was installed in the wrong place (which may, even though this event is unlikely, be why yuo were suffering from cookie problems), do a search on your hardrive for anythinf with fire in the title, then for stuff with fox, then for stuff with ff to makes sure you get everything. And a tip on the reinstall, don't share cookies with IE, it can lead to problems.
its ez just go to search, then search for just FireFox, and delete every file you see? ok---

What do you mean by "share cookies with IE"? I thought Firefox and IE can't be connected in any way? I may be wrong... How would one go about sharing cookies with IE?

There are two ways to share cookies between IE and Firefox, the first isn't true sharing. It is when you install Firefox, import all of your IE cookies. The second, which is true sharing, is done through IE. IE allows you to change the Temporary Internet Files folder location. This folder is the folder IE stores cookies in. If this folder is set to the location Firefox stores its cookies, it may cause problems. It can't really be set to the location that Firefox stores its cookies in, because Firefox uses a file, but if the IE cookies and the Firefox cookie file are in the same folder, it may cause problems. The problem may lie with the Firefox file as well. What version of Firefox are you using, if it is not 1.01, update and see if that helps. Otherwise, open the cookie file for Firefox (c:\Documents and Settings\you\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\bclibax8.default\cookies.txt where you is your user name if you are using XP. Otherwise, do a search for "Firefox" and open the folder labeled Firefox and then search in that folder for cookies .txt). Make sure the file begins "# HTTP Cookie File # http://www.netscape.com/newsref/std/cookie_spec.html # This is a generated file! Do not edit. # To delete cookies, use the Cookie Manager" without the quotes and the line breaks may or may not occur.

You can access your FireFox cache files by typing this "about:cache?device=disk" into your FF URL
bar There is the cache directory will tell you the directory in which cache is stored, this is not
IE and you'll not be able to browse by going to that directory, because its in encrypted form.
If you want to browse your cache, you're in the page! The about:cache?device=disk is the
disk cache page! browse around in here. This is completely different to what is temporary

Hi everyone, this is hard to explain..Basically i use firefox for browsing and i like the way ive
got it set up, but now im ging into web development more i need the development addons for FF. The
problem is i dont want to have millions of addons on my normal FF browser as it gets clogged up in
the toolbars etc and would annoy me. So i thought i would get another download of FF and use that
and add all the usefull Dev addons i could find, the problem is both FF exe's use the same
settings, probably from the same registry entry, if i clear history in one, it gets clea....

i've recently noticed the my mozilla firefox doesn't download the things that i download
from sites. there are some exceptions, but most of the stuff can't seem to be downloaded.

I've been using Firefox lately, and i placed an extension in it, to try it out, but after
uninstalling it, the feature is still here... I dont mind the feature all that much, but it does
become inconvenient for me when there's lots of scrolling, and i want to use the "home" and
"end" keys. Also, i cant do quick edits to my posts cause of it. I love the quick edit feature. I

After installing firefox 1.5, I realized that on every site, there are no scrollbars. It is really
annoying and I'm wondering if someone could help me figure out why they are gone or is everyone
else having the same problem? Also, the little box's scrollbars on sites are missing too. Any

experiancing this problem ( I experianced it too for about 5 pages until it clicked ), and you use
Firefox extensions, you might want to disable them sequentially to determine whether or ....

(codenamed Deerpark) is out of beta and available for download. I had tried the beta and was pretty
impressed. I have downloaded it but due to some complications with a virus, I'm not able to

Seemingly FireFox is almost the only open-source project that confirmed to be better than any
commercial application for internet browsing. Even if i like better Opera i am still fascinated by

Firefox, a great new browser that everyone loves. And why shouldn't they its free, stable,
secure, light weight, customizable and gives you any feature that you could possibly want with
extensions. But these extensions could be responsible fo the death of the internet as we know it.
One of the very first extensions that anyone installs is AdBlock. It blocks ads from any and every
site you visit. Great isn't it. Not really, because the ads are responsible for keeping the rest
of the site free. For example Gmail, it gives you loads of space and loads of features ....
I have problems with both IE and Firefox. IE always crashes or freezes on me all the time. When I
can actually use it, it never displays flash. Like if somone has a flash animation in their banner
it just shows a still picture. I went into the internet options and enabled flahs and stuff and it
doesn't show the animation. I even got the newest version of Flash. Firefox doesn't crash as
much as IE but it does from time to time. I have ran spyware and virus software and nothing comes
up. I dunno what the problem is. Also, whenever I download something on IE or Fire....
Im reinstalling my OS, but i have a lot of bookmarks. I found a file around the folder at the
program files called: "\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile\bookmarks.html" But
it aint got my bookmarks, its kind of a help file. I want the actual links to my pages. Does any one
