Unable To Access Hosted Site - Problems with hosting account

Just browsing around on the forum.. I notice that I am not the only person having this trouble tonight.
However I thought I should bring this to your attention anyway.
I am unable toaccess my hosted site. When I type the address (wildcattech.trap17.com) into my web browser.. I get the generic Cannot Find Server Message. If I try to ping that address I get the message Unable to find Host.
It seems that the DNS servers can't translate the address. Just seems odd though... Last night I was able to access the site with no difficulty whatsoever.
Perhaps I am just impatient.. maybe I just need to allow time for the DNS entries to propegate to other DNS servers. But it just seems odd that it would work last night... but not tonight.
now 69.50.188.18 can been access. you can just ping this ip address. if can reply from then it 's all right.

Isn't that basically what I said? DNS will not resolve wildcattech.trap17.com to any ip address. Thus making it difficult for anyone (including myself) to access my website.
I can access my cpanel through the IP, edit files and everything, but if I try and go to "sarcastic.trap17.com"(my sub domain) I get FireFox's could not be found error message.
Course, I just did it like 30 mins ago, maybe it'll take a while, or maybe its a bigger problem, or something else really simple and I'm an idiot..I dunno, I'm stuck.
I noticed that you seemed to be having the same issue as myself.
We are both fairly new accounts... so perhaps it is a simple DNS Propegation issue. It can take 48 hours or so for DNS entries to propegate around the world to the different Nameservers... perhaps that is the issue.
Patience may be all that we need... and the issue may resolve itself over the next couple of days.
But.. just in case there is a bigger issue behind the problem.. I figured it couldn't hurt to post this problem and see if anyone was aware of any other issues.
Let me explain this to EVERYONE. There's no need whatsoever to alert the admins in this case, because it is not within their power. This is not an issue that lies with trap17, but with the DNS servers all over the world. It can take up to 48 or more hours to have your website visible there. And also not all DNS servers work with class D URLs.
Every website has an IP, let's say 123.465.789 as example. To memorize websites like that will be a real hassle and next to impossible. So we use alpha-numerical values (letters LOL). Those DNS servers are what allows us to use the name instead of the IP. But we do not control those. Give it some time and it will be sorted. If it is not, please post again, then it's possible your ISP (whose DNS servers you normally use) can't handle Class D.
Sometimes you have to give time to let webservers propagate your subdomain address through out the net. You once were able to access your subdomain probably due to initial setup or some other fluke. But the rule is always wait 12~24 (or sometimes longer) to let your subdomain name to be PROPAGATED through out the web.
Your site is up and running. I can see the default index page. Problem solved. Topic closed.
I just got web hosting approved and I want to host the site I created using Struts framework.
I'm a complete newb when it comes to web hosting, so I need a little help. Is there a tutorial
that covers this subject? I apologize in advance if this question was already answered, but
I've been unable to find the answer anywhere. One thing I have to note is that I need to know
absolute address of the uploaded files in order for my application to work. Is this even allowed?
Any help with hosting of Java applications will be appreciated.....
It was working the day before yesterday and then it started giving me error messages about not being
able to access the site. I can't access cpanel either. Neither page ever loads. I don't
have this problem with any other internet pages, just my site stuff on Trap17. My site's at
www.jzambrano.trap17.com btw. This is one of the few times I'll need it up for sure so I'd
appreciate if the issue can get fixed in the near future. ....
Hi, I got some problems mainly related to connection issue. Firstly, I can connect to FTP server to
upload files. Secondly, I can not access cpanel account, it does not accept my registered data, the
one which is totally right. I do not what happened because it was working fine before. ....
I still can't get to my website and cpanel, Tings I did: requested xisto to unblock my ip
cleaned my cache/cookies Did this with both IE and FF When I am @ my dads house he can acces my
website. So I guess it is still an ip problem. I did read some posts but couldn't find a

Okay, so last night everything worked fine. I loaded up cpanel, fixed issues with the site after the
database move, etc. Today I'm unable to load up the site. It just keeps giving me ping
timeouts. With what I'm being told by others it is only me having this issue with my site, and
yet there have been 0 changes to my pc between it working and not. I have tried multiple times
during the day with no luck. Along with this, if I load my website using a proxy service then I do
not have any issues. The only time it will not allow me to access it is if I am "using" my....
After all the troubles over the past week, I have everything set up, my access to MySQL databases
restored, however, I cannot access my webmail yet. I log in on the screen before you get the choice
which webmail to use (Squirrel, Horde or Roundcube), and when clicking on Horde I get "Login failed
because your username or password are incorrect", with Squirrel mail i get; "ERROR: Connection
dropped by IMAP server." and Roundcube (probably as the name implies) keeps going round in circles.
According to the opening screen of cpanel, I have 3 email accounts (as it should be)....
After all the recent problems, my account has been restored. I have setup my parked domain agin, and
that works fine. However, I can no longer access my MySQL databases (I can from PHPMyAdmin, but
that's all). I had to create a new user for my databases, and created the user with exactly the
same username and password I had before, but some of my web pages do not let me access the pages I
have associated with my databases. Where could i find out what my DB password is? (Although I am as

Is it possible to directly access my local database from my website? For example, if somebody
submits info on my website, the info they submitted would be transferred to my local database
directly. Is that possible? And if so, how do I set that up? The reason I don't want to upload
my database to my subdomain is because it would be difficult to keep the website database and my
local database in sync . . . or is there a way to do that? Thanks for any replies.....
Can you just reset my cpanel / website FTP and all to how it was when I got it new please? Don't

I would like to close my hosting account because I am moving to a new paid host but I am unsure how
to close the account so that if I need to in the future I can open it without having negative
credits. (I realize that all my info from my site will be wiped and if I reopen it will be from
scratch and Ill probably need to get the 30 creds again and what not)....
Okay here is the problem. My site www.echo-of-thunder.trap17.com is not showing any graphics,
Background header logo nothing. Uploaded them all. now here is the kicker to this. it all shows just
like it it is supposed to show up on my old host What am I doing wrong here.....
I am looking at different solutions for paid hosting and I know that that trap17 has some connection
with a paid hosting company and I would like more info about it because I like the way this place is
run and it has been a good place to have my website. So what is the site for the paid hosting?....

I can't delete a little file using file manager in Cpanel. I'm trying to delete a .png
image, actually, I'm trying to replace it. The response comes back as a success, but when I
reload my site it's still there. Then I go back to the file manager and go up a level, then back
and WOOP! There it is! I'm beyond frustrated here. What is going on?....
Hi, my subdomain here is tf2maps.trap17.com, and I was wondering, how do you enable anonymous ftp
access for the public_ftp folder? I cant seem to find the option in Cpanel. And every time I try to
access http://tf2maps.trap17.com/public_ftp/tf/ it gives me a 404 error? Is there any way of

Hey all... Whe I try to access my site, it always times out, when I try to ping, it does the
same... DNS records are accessible, and I get all my emails for the domain (todorowww.net)... I am
hosted on Gamma server, and I can access it, and get that cPanel page... But, when I try my site, it
won't load... Is there some problem with the server or something? FTP doesn't work either...
This is the case for a few days now, at first I thought it was just a temporary error, but it
appears not to be... I have avout 20 credits left, so that shouldn't be the issue.......
I am posting this here rather than in the 'Web design' topic as it seems to be something
which happens exclusively to my Trap 17 web site. When i have my web site open, which you can find
here , every so often (quite regular actually) a short and high pitched beep is sounded. At first I
thought it had something to do with my sound card or my PC, but recently I discovered it only
happens when I have my site open. It does not matter which page of the site I have open, or whether

I'm seeing some weird warning message show up at the top of my page when I go into "my
controls," then load my topic subscriptions page. At the top of the page, the following code appears

I like to experiment with a lot of things and I was thinking of making a sort of instant messenger
