It didn't slow down my computer whatsoever. Just had to start the computer up in safe mode to get it installed and that was it. I tried uninstalling it which did give me some problems which was the fact that the icons remained and same with the startup screen with the loading bar under it still say Windows Vista. Didn't matter though cause I got new parts for my computer and got rid of the harddrive. I think it was partly because I uninstalled it incorrectly.

I have a website devoted to this kind of stuff. To be honest though this kind of stuff slows down your computer. The transparent folders, and things just use tons of RAM. I use it though, but i switched it back. If you guys want you can actually see a screenshot of what my computer looked like after i changed it here:

Incase you want to see the results afterwards. There is one problem i have always had with it was look at My Computer and All Programs. See a problem there? haha

It slowed down my computer quite a bit, but this probably due to the low specs my computer has, it especially struggles on RAM and graphical stuff. It did look fairly cool when I was running it.

I dont think so i mean ym computer has 1.66 GHz and 1 GB of RAM

ya thats cool. ive heard about that. when i get my new computer it comes with a free upgrade that i can use to automatically upgrade to the full version of vista when it comes out. so i dont need to really put it on the old computer.

I just found out that the Vista theme is only suitable for computers with the window vista capable stickers. Otherwise, ur computer will haf serious trouble. In my experience, my comp shuts down automatically whenever I play games. I reformatted my comp, and everything's fine now.

I did a similar thing with my 486 laptop. I used Calmera which wraps a windows 95 look over the 3.1 feel. It is way easier to use now

seems really cool. I am defiantly going to have to try this out. I want to get vista for my computer but i have to wait to get 1gb of ram. I currently only have 512mb. I know that 512mb can still run it but i heard it is really slow and better to get the 1gb of ram before you get it. So thanks for the info about the transformation packs it will really help me out until i get 1gb of ram.
