Transcend has hopped on the high-capacity-SD-Card bandwagon with their new product a 16GB Class 6 SDHC card. It’s based on the latest versions of SD memory cards, which is SD 2.0. This new version also supports the FAT32 file system format. This size card can store almost 8,000 plus high-resolution 7-megapixel JPG photos.
The features incorporated into this 16GB card include a mechanical write protection switch for data protection, up to a minimum write speed of 6MB/s and ECC or Error Correcting Code to automatically detect and correct errors during data transfer.
The price or availability of the cards have not yet been disclosed.
What's the point if no device currently supports such huge capacities??? But good innovation though. Soon there will be a gadget for it! Trandsend and WesternDigital are really workin hard on increasing memory capacities (WD's made a 2Tb Hard disk drive!!!). Kudos to both of them
