It seems I've encountered a brick wall and haven't found a way to go over/around it. I don't know what CMS I should use to maintain all my pages. I want it to be as search engine friendly/optimized as humanly (or computerly) possible. Also, I have a few hundred pages I'd like to incorporate into the CMS so I won't have to add in each one separately. The pages I want to add into it are mostly HTML with just a little sprinkling of PHP for items like headers, footers, etc. I've looked over quite a few different ones and they all claim SEO/SEF, URL friendly, etc. One that I looked at that seems ok is called SEO-CMS but there is practically no documentation and absolutely no template examples that comes with it. No template at all comes with it! Let's see... there is PHP Nuke, PostNuke, Drupal, Mambo, Joomla, Xoops, Wordpress, Jupiter CMS, Movable Type, OneCMS, ocPortal, RedCMS, ReloadCMS, Subdreamer, SiteWorks Pro, and the list goes on and on. But what would be the best to use?

Well if nothing else, I would strongly recommend NOT using phpnuke.

It is a really poor piece of programming imo. (not to mention it leaves many things to be desired aethestically.)

I don't think that, if you look in the internet you'll find ALOT of addons for phpnuke to make it better and beautifful, i think it's pretty cool and save us alot of time in 'programing' 'designing', and you can use phpnuke for almost everthing you want to do! The most 'problematic' thing is the database, it uses alot, in a few time with new things/users it will get bigger and bigger, and when i say bigger, its really big!! tongue.gif
But beside that its pretty cool for a free 'program'!!

But, as I've said, I'm not looking for beautifful(sic) but for search engine friendliness/optimization as well as URL friendly. I'd like to get opinions/input before I end up making a mistake with the wrong CMS.

Well I use Wordpress for my blog, and there are a whole load of themes and plugin scripts to use to expand the site. You can create your own theme (like mine) with extreme ease as well, just to get a personal touch. Wordpress has a pages feature, which are static pages, just like a normal site, that are not really related to the blogging system. You can customise the URL scheme that Wordpress uses. I use a system derived from the date I posted, but other people just use page titles and other systems. This means that search engines can generally find the site quite easily and put you near the top.

True2Earn, there are 2 addons for PHP-Nuke that address your interests:

- nukeSEO is a GPL addon module I wrote that provides several tools for search engine optimization, including META tags editor, a dynamic Google Sitemap generator, results analysis and more. Download it free from http://nukeSEO.com
-TegoNuke is a GPL addon utility that allows short URLs. Download it free from http://montegoscripts.com
