Top 2 Worst Free Webhosts. - inspired by the 2 best webhosts topic

NOTE I am in no way responsible for the hurt fellings of any webhosts mentioned in this thread...
I was looking through the index and saw a topic about the best two free webhosts besides trap17, and thought of this, what does everyone think. I am making a prediction that freewebs, one of my picks will rank among the most useless.
My nominees are www.freewebs.com (good for image and other file hosting though... Except a freewebs download is about 10 slower than a normal download!!!) & www.proboards.com (not really for websites, but still bad...) I can't say much just that there are countless hosts for PHPBB and IPB with more customization and power. Number two was a hard pick...

right now i'm going to have to add my current free host to the list... http://100webspace.com, they started out with no ads and now they place freaking huge ones on my site

Lol, I use them also, I agree not too good, better than some... Trap17 is good though, I beleive, I can't be one-hundred percent sure, I'm not hosted yet...

I've only tried a few hosts...and I've found GeoCities and Anglefire to be the worst. I had another host, ProHosting, but they're not as bad as those two...I've heard bad things about freewebs plenty of times...Glad I never had them.

I think Tripod needs an honorary mention as well.

Every time you go to a member's website, you can't access it because it has used up it's allocated bandwidth for the day...

I would say Angelfire and Tripod. I actually like geocities and proboards. Proboards hosted my old forum and I just liked the extent to which I could customize it. Geocities has a hell of a lot more than Freewebs. I remember when I was there, I had to use a whole bunch of remotely hosted stuff because I couldn't activate CGI or anything. And then the links back that you had to put on there....ugh...

My two worst hosts that I have experienced is Geocities and Thirdage. Geocities is good for beginners playing around with HTML, but it's really not a good idea if you plan you host a site there. Thirdage was a host that I loved because of its unlimited bandwidth feature and no ads policy, but the latter went out the window. In addition, they offer no FTP access, no cpanel, no MySQL, no scripting languages, no email accounts, and the space they give you is 9 MB. I suggest using it if you want a place to store media less than 9 MB.

geocities isn't that bad because they allow hotlinking of images. That way, you can use geocities as webspace for image galleries. hotlinking the images from geocities means no ads will show up.

I think it's a really good place to host image galleries... other image hosts usually put up ads.

Yeah, well, when I had GeoCities, I constantly ran out of bandwidth. I don't know whether they increased the total bandwidth or not, but I see your point. They don't really offer many good features...Still, you're right. It could be used to host images...never even thought of it. However, I did mention that I hadn't tried that many hosts, so it's one of the worst to me.

Ugh tonnes of ads... and a huge thing up the top. Just terrible.

Tripod/Lycos UK too... for the frame ad.... I used them for quite a few months and then they decided to increase ads everywhere.

You have to give Freewebs some credit - if you only want a simple HTML page which doesn't need much updating, it's quite usable, without ads and easy signup and setup.
Don't think Geocities is too bad either... the ads are easy to minimise, there are lots of beginner tools... I would say for someone starting out, it's a good host...

My worst is geocities. I used them like 2 years ago. I tried making a site with their online creator thing and well it sucked..... alot. But freewebs is actually pretty good at least they used to be when they allowed hotlinking and super fast speeds. I uploaded like 4 mp3's on there and i made a respectable site with their online creator. I used to think I was sooooo good till I learned html and php. Now i can't stand freewebs. But why does everyone hate 100webspace? They're tons better than most hosts because most hosts dont even offer php,mysql, and email account. I'm so glad i found trap17. Just thinking of those hosts....

Well, im still new to web creating and all that and geocities is the best i used because all of the other are just too hard to understand. Geocities is a good beginner site. And i've been working on my Trap17 but i need help... if anyone can help me PM me please

most worst web hosts:
-www.hostultra.com (pop ups, they try to install something in your computer or something XP and when you go to an error page, you're attacked with pop ups)
-www.freewebs.com (not enough space and you can only get up to 50 files uploaded....)
