| | Pop-up windows and Pop-unders have always been annoying for me! I hate them and I do not want to one at my one site, because I know people do hate them too! They usually slow down my computers evertime I am surfing and There are times when adult pop-ups would just come out when I hvae my family around me while I am on the computer. They are worthless most of the time, and just waste my time. |

I completly against popups not to mention they can put spyware,adware,viruses, and all kinds of nasty stuff on your pc. Now it may be different if your advertising for something you want people to use. However putting pop-up code on your page from an advertiser so you can make money is where you can get all the nasty stuff from. I have a popup blocker and it doesn't do a very good job of getting rid of these annoying popups. I personnally prefer banner ads than pop-ups because they normally don't give you viruses and all that stuff with the exception of a site called lordsoflegend.com or something like, one of their banner ads gave me a virus but I think with banner ads your less likly to get any of those nasty things.

i think pop-ups are increadbly bad..some of them will just download a virius as you are sitting there reading it..some of them are just stupid ones like it will show some guys chest and ask who's it is..or it will show some girls legs and askss who they belong to...i think popup are the stupidest thing in the world, but advertisements such as the one on these forums are funn sit there and shoot duck etc..lol neways, i think they are bad because of virisues these days..

Ok I know some people try to use pop ups as ads to make money to keep their site going, but now most days people have pop up blockers and that isn't the best way to go. When people see a pop up they normally attempt to close them because they are known to be bad. Basically people don't really use them anymore except to give people viruses or whatever. Now that google ads is out people can embed them onto their web sites and I think that is a much better way to go because the ads are related to the content and it is maybe what you are looking for.

With rare exceptions, pop-ups are really annoying. I think the only thing worse than pop-ups would be those flash adverts that appear just after you load a page on some sports/entertainment sites.

I have to agree with the majority, I hate popups. In any form they are annoying as hell. I suppose it really really starts to get under my skin when I visit a professional site and BAM one just smacks me in the face. I really didn't expect it from a company like that, and that makes me want to shut the site down at all costs and find another program or source to purchase/view from... Well thats just what I do  . Really not a fan!

pop ups can be tricky. some of the geeks in our school try their best to improve the school's network and softwares to prevent popups from appearing when one surfs using the pc's in the labs. personally, i've had problems with popups (which almost destroyed my pc). even in my previous hosting site. when i found out (through mozilla) that my previous hosting site adds popups to their members' free accounts, i withdrew my files and transferred to trap17.

I do clasify them as bad, because not only they are irritating, but they also may contain virus. One such website is mpcforum.com So this website helps a lot by banning the ads in boards, I just love here, giving me the warm of home rather than other host.

popups are the worst form of ads, they drive away visitors, i would myself never click on a popup. most popups are about sorry content anyway Moreover i always use a popup blocker

Do you think massive enternal hemeraging is a bad thing? Do you think AIDs is a bad thing? Do you think the antichrist would be a bad person? Well, he'd probably destroy the world by flooding it with popups. Whoever first invented the popup ad should be shot, drawn and quatered, and then dragged through the streets as an example to others. ------ All sillniess aside...they're really really really obnoxious.

Is 2d A Thing Of The Past?
(12) This topic is sort of about 2d games competing with 3d games, and aimed more at game developers. Is
2D in the past? With modern gaming, would you even consider purchasing a 2D game? I use trap17 to
run a site for RPG Maker XP/VX(I know a few others on trap17 do also), which is an all round site
for creating 2D games. Some interesting discussions have come up on the forums on 2d vs 3d game
making. I usually go with 3D saying that it is much better than 2D, and with todays modern games,
creating games in 2D is just going backwards. But I think most of us on trap17 are ....

(3) I was reading some of these messages in this forum and I noticed that I had heard some of them
before and when I thought about where I believe it was copied directly from a religious tract
(little hand outs that Christians use to spread their faith) I know that if you copy/paste from a
website it is against trap17's rules but what about this? It is the same thing, plagiarism (tho
technically they most likely have the rights to copy it in any way possible but it still is not

Free Graphic Programs As Opposed To The Real Thing
(5) I am sure many of you have heard of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and their "FREE"
competition, The Gimp and Inkscape. Personally myself I love all Adobe Software, but can't
afford any of it. Anyone here use The Gimp or Inkscape and can they show some of there work from it.
I have just recently started using the two, although I design my websites with Adobe Photoshop, but
it's my fiances brother's Adobe Photoshop. So I just use it more than he does to get my work

What Is The Advantage Of Safe Mode Off?
Why is "safe mode off" a good thing? (3) I've seen a lot of webhosts where a paid upgrade is "Safe Mode OFF". I know here at Trap17 that
it's turned off by default on all webhosting, but I'd just like to know, why is this an
advantage? What features that are enabled are so important that they have to be disabled in safe

Weird Disk Quota Thing
(1) My site won't let me upload anything new. I was trying to upload a new flash thing I made, and
it kept saying that my disk quota was exceeded, so I deleted some files, to see if that would help.
That didn't work, so I deleted some more, and it still didn't work. Then, I was looking
around, and I found the /etc file, and it had three files, passwd, quota, and shadow, and they were
all 0kb. Then I decided to use the cpanel, instead of fireFTP, and I tried emptying the trash to

I Am Very Much Addicted To Internet

How To Add Mugen Char
well...Since this is kindda the only thing I really know...Its all I c (0) Hello In order to add a char to M.U.G.E.N you must first open the MUGEN folder and open "Char"
folder Next you must look for the char you downloaded from any MUGEN website and check the name
of the .def file. if the file and the folder have the same name then insert the new downloaded

School Timetables
It may seem like a minor thing, but its really bugging me (4) We get our school timetables after our summer holiday. They are meant to be created over the summer,
which gives the staff 6 weeks to sort them out. So, why on earth do they never have them ready on
our first day? They always send a note out on the first day apologising for the fact they
haven't even started the timetable. Then, magically, its done by the second day. If they can do
it in 2 days, why can't they do it in 6 weeks ?!? And, when I finally received my
timetable, it was wrong. Not just little errors, but quite major ones. I have 9 lessons in a sub....

Strange Thing Happened To My Computer
(26) I was on my computer a couple nights ago. Chatting with some friends and email what have you. And
