| | the most annoying pop-ups are the ones u get if you have viruses lol. but i dont really like having popups on a site cause some look fun but if i click it everytime when i do a virus scan everytime it will say that www.advertising.com is a virus. and the only time it shows it is when i click on a pop-up with my virus scanner. |

Well Depends on the pop up. I usually will use small pop ups on my website when I want every visitor to read or see something that is important. Pop ups are a great way of getting peoples attention. Unfortunately lots of people use pop ups to advertise which I think is just plain annoying. Especially when their is more then 1.

Pop-ups off all kinds...expecially from another site are ANNOYING!!...who wants to waste time cutting through web popups and ads...just to get to what they really want?? I always x out the popups before they even get a chance to fully load...what a waste

The thing I hate more then few people in my class are POP ups.. I hate them because they don't fit anywhere.. I think soo.. and when they jump out when your searching something.. then i just want to burn them down.. if theyr funny I can look at them but if they have some kind of text or information i don't care i just want to destroy themm.. Im sorry for my agracivity

I think that pop-ups are one of the worst things that are on the internet. Almost none of them have links to sites that anyone cares about that are usually some kind of free offer scam. They plain just get in your way. Many of them have annoying flashing text and some even have sound. Pop-ups unlike other kinds of ads get in your way.

I just don't like 'em, but when caused by adware, I hate 'em. Do you know of somthing lika Ad-aware or Spy bot? They have worked so far helping me to remove anoying thigs, also helped with many pop ups. Those things should be prohibited!

although popups are annoying and i try to block them all, i think the only use for a popup for anyone hosting a site is to collect a visitors email address for a newsletter,autoresponder while giving away something free that has value to your targeted visitors. but if you do that, you should make sure that it doesn't pop up everytime they visit....only their first visit. my personal preference is not to see any popunders or popovers. i tend not to visit annoying websites ever again unless it's vital to what i need....but that is once in a blue moon. smart webmasters that have what i need don't lower themselves to over advertising. they don't need to when they can attract visitors with quality services and information

One should not be forced to have a window open (pop up) on their computer if they did not ask for it. They are very disturbing and annoying, I would seriously try and avoid the as a web designer whenever I can.

We are livin' in a world of advertisments, we can't do much abou tit. It's the media,billoards,pop ups, etc. That keeps this world runnin' as it is. All we can do is resist it or deal with it.

we will deal with it. just like the whiners complaining about everything on t.v. not being G rated for their children. can't please everyone. my basic philosophy is if there are too many banners, i wont return, too many graphics or flash, i wont return, any popups or popunders, i wont return(in general) and if there is little webpage content, i will NEVER return unless by some fluke accident. i deal with it because i love searching the web. i know what to expect when i search the web and so should everyone else although i do expect it to be too much for some people and one day we will be hearing about some nerd going postal over one too many popups. but then, as always, he will be able to hire a cheap lawyer who is after a quick buck arguing about civil rights and rights to privacy or something like that....or hire that one lawyer who argued and won that mcdonalds coffee was too hot gotta love the world we live in. this stupid crap makes it comical and interesting

Is 2d A Thing Of The Past?
(12) This topic is sort of about 2d games competing with 3d games, and aimed more at game developers. Is
2D in the past? With modern gaming, would you even consider purchasing a 2D game? I use trap17 to
run a site for RPG Maker XP/VX(I know a few others on trap17 do also), which is an all round site
for creating 2D games. Some interesting discussions have come up on the forums on 2d vs 3d game
making. I usually go with 3D saying that it is much better than 2D, and with todays modern games,
creating games in 2D is just going backwards. But I think most of us on trap17 are ....

(3) I was reading some of these messages in this forum and I noticed that I had heard some of them
before and when I thought about where I believe it was copied directly from a religious tract
(little hand outs that Christians use to spread their faith) I know that if you copy/paste from a
website it is against trap17's rules but what about this? It is the same thing, plagiarism (tho
technically they most likely have the rights to copy it in any way possible but it still is not

Free Graphic Programs As Opposed To The Real Thing
(5) I am sure many of you have heard of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and their "FREE"
competition, The Gimp and Inkscape. Personally myself I love all Adobe Software, but can't
afford any of it. Anyone here use The Gimp or Inkscape and can they show some of there work from it.
I have just recently started using the two, although I design my websites with Adobe Photoshop, but
it's my fiances brother's Adobe Photoshop. So I just use it more than he does to get my work
done. I have to say though the developers of The Gimp and Inkscape did a really good ....
What Is The Advantage Of Safe Mode Off?
Why is "safe mode off" a good thing? (3) I've seen a lot of webhosts where a paid upgrade is "Safe Mode OFF". I know here at Trap17 that
it's turned off by default on all webhosting, but I'd just like to know, why is this an
advantage? What features that are enabled are so important that they have to be disabled in safe
mode?....
Weird Disk Quota Thing
(1) My site won't let me upload anything new. I was trying to upload a new flash thing I made, and
it kept saying that my disk quota was exceeded, so I deleted some files, to see if that would help.
That didn't work, so I deleted some more, and it still didn't work. Then, I was looking
around, and I found the /etc file, and it had three files, passwd, quota, and shadow, and they were
all 0kb. Then I decided to use the cpanel, instead of fireFTP, and I tried emptying the trash to
see if that would work, and I got this: CODE Unable to create trash folder. ....

I Am Very Much Addicted To Internet

How To Add Mugen Char
well...Since this is kindda the only thing I really know...Its all I c (0) Hello In order to add a char to M.U.G.E.N you must first open the MUGEN folder and open "Char"
folder Next you must look for the char you downloaded from any MUGEN website and check the name
of the .def file. if the file and the folder have the same name then insert the new downloaded

School Timetables
It may seem like a minor thing, but its really bugging me (4) We get our school timetables after our summer holiday. They are meant to be created over the summer,
which gives the staff 6 weeks to sort them out. So, why on earth do they never have them ready on
our first day? They always send a note out on the first day apologising for the fact they
haven't even started the timetable. Then, magically, its done by the second day. If they can do
it in 2 days, why can't they do it in 6 weeks ?!? And, when I finally received my
timetable, it was wrong. Not just little errors, but quite major ones. I have 9 lessons in a sub....

Strange Thing Happened To My Computer
(26) I was on my computer a couple nights ago. Chatting with some friends and email what have you. And
