  2. Wireless Vs Wired - (10)
I'd just like people's opinions on a simple fact of connectivity, stability, and speed on
the aforementioned topics. I consider myself quite well versed in networking and computers, and
although I am well aware that my nForce NVIDIA mobo is more suited to network as it provides a much
better network management than any of the wireless plug in cards or usb adapters that I've yet
to see, I always figured 56mbps was more than enough than what I would need for my internet
connection (considering it's capped at 5mbps tops with the best of conditions). Even if ...

with the speed and accuracy of a Google search. How exactly does Google manage to find the right

PigeonRank™, a system for ranking web pages developed by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin

  16. Could Not Connect To 2wire, Wireless - With a HP ze4400 (5)
Hi every one. This is a brief story of something that happened to me a couple days ago. I have a
ze4400 laptop, and a 2Wire router, wich can be accessed by USB, ethernet and wireless connections. I
first connected my lap to the router usin ethernet and configured everything to work like that, I
found the router registered my lap's name. I did so, because I couldn't get my lap to detect
the router wireless signal. So I did this: 1-Downloaded the newest driver. Didn't solve it 2-
Downloaded a tool to manage the wireless connectio. Finally my lap detected the r...

  18. Linksys Wireless Pci Card - (3)
I have an old desktop at home that is used as a second PC (a sort of backup), for example if someone
is using the newer PC, or its running a virus scan or something. Anyway, this desktop was connected
into my network's router by about 30 feet of Cat5 cable, which was then hooked into the PC with
the use of an ethernet-to-USB converter (it has no ethernet port). We decided to move this desktop
elsewhere, which meant the cable would no longer be of use to connect it with. Despite the age of
the PC (around 7 or 8 years old) I decided to make wireless, so that no matter...
  19. Wireless Router Problems. - Keeps dropping network. (8)
I recently bought a laptop(HP Pavilion dv9000) with integrated wireless and I wanted to set-up
wireless in my house. So, I bought a wireless router, more specifically I bought a Netgear 108mps
router, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C0XS0 . Now I got the wireless router before I got
the router and set it up. But made all of the correct connections and ran the setup wizard. I got no
errors or anything. I set the security to WPA2 and set the passphrase and everything correctly also.
Now, when I got my laptop I set it up and everything and it found my wireless netw...

  21. Wireless Internet On Linux Mint 4.0 Daryna - bcm94311mcg wlan mini-pci (0)
Well, a while back I started to get into Linux and tried out a few distros and found my perfect one.
Linux Mint, a Ubuntu based distro that uses the same packages and repositories I believe. The latest
version, Daryna, it based on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. My laptop is a Compaq Presario C714NR with a
BCM94311MCG WLAN Mini-PCI wireless card built in. It came with Windows Vista Home Premium and I
bought it around December. Well, I finally got my wireless internet working using this tutorial:

  24. Anti-crash Technology - Used in RC Planes (9)
This is not about computer but it is still electronic. Has anyone have seen the Anti-Crash

  25. Sony's Patent On Apparent "matrix-like Technology" - (14)
Sony patents 'real life Matrix' Obviously the news report has been hyped up to a large
extent, but this patenting is ridiculous. QUOTE The patent - based only on a theory, not on
any invention... I mean, how the hell can you patent a theory...? Does that mean I could go
off and make a patent on something currently in development and yet not fully developed and have
exclusive rights to the technology or what? And does that mean they have exclusive rights to that
technology? (I think so, but then, I'm not an expert in IP law) Anyway, this is ...
  26. Use Of Technology In High School - (53)
I really despise high school students that can learn real computer skills in their school; part
because my school's computer program is crap. Anybody can use the computer better than the
computer teacher, and most of us don't even get a computer class. The result? Half of my
classmates doesn't know how to use Excel or Powerpoint. Most of them hardly know what Photoshop
is. Technology is progressing at a really high rate, and it is becoming a big part of our lives.
You're basically disabled if you can't use a computer. So why doesn't high school ...
  27. The Marvels Of Technology - Smaller Device, Lots of Space (2)
The marvels of technology surprise me to this day. Like my new MP3 player for example. It's a 1
gig, and it's smaller than my index finger. Or my newest phone, is like half the size of my old
one, with a camera, more features, and four times as much space for downloads. iPods are mildly
annoying in their marvel. They're tiny, but hold so many songs. Like the iPod nano, which holds
1, 2, 4 or 8 gigs depending on the generation. The marvels of technology amaze me. It makes me feel
old not just to remember cassette tapes, but to own a cassette player and cassett...
  28. Blu-ray - News and considerations about this new technology (23)
Here it is, the new BLU-RAY disc, the next generation of optical media that should replace DVD's
on the market. Some movies are already being sold at DVD and BLU-RAY format, although prices here
in Europe still are around 300€ to 500€ for a table BLUE-RAY reader, more or less the same a DVD
player costed when it arrived at the market. Some laptops are coming with BLUE-RAY too although they
cost around the same amount. I would like to hear your opinion about this new technology and for
those who don't know it yet here I post a link for your information: BLU-R...
  29. Heard Of Oled? - latest visual technology (13)
Hey guys have you heard about OLED? Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) technology An OLED is
an electronic device made by placing a series of organic thin films between two conductors. When
electrical current is applied, a bright light is emitted. This process is called
electrophosphorescence. Even with the layered system, these systems are very thin, usually less than
500 nm (0.5 thousandths of a millimeter). When used to produce displays, OLED technology
produces self-luminous displays that do not require backlighting. These properties result in thin,
    very ...

Cryogenics are the future, with the power to freeze ourselves we can sleep and not age one bit, we
can also wake up thousands of years into the future, we won't have to listen to loud noises and
stuff and we can dream for as long we like. Think about it, the power to sleep for as long as you
like. You have an incurable virus so freeze yourself and wait for scientists to find a cure.
