What is the difference between the brands netgear and d-link? Which would you recommend? Which is faster/longer range?

Personally, I would go for 3-Com, not sure if you've heard of that brand before, but it has been serving me well for quite a long time now.

I've seen it being strike by lightning about 1 or 2 times and it's still functioning well.

I've used d-link before and didn't really like it because the configuration is kind of messy.
I would also reccomend linksys, also another brand that's good.

As for net gear, I've heard "not-so-good" feedbacks about it, but haven't realy tried it yet.

  7. Dell, Compaq, Hp, Ibm, Emachine Name Brand Computers
Which name brand computers do you think are best? (22)
Ok of all the brand name computer companies out there which one do you think is the best. I know
myself that building your own custom system is the most economic and likely the best way to buy a
computer, but if you were offered the choice of all the top brand names which one would you choose
and what makes it better than all the others. I have owned Dell, Compaq, IBM and an EMachine. In my
opinion the Dell was the best. The Dell was inexpensive to buy and was a quite stable system. The
Dell also had very little upgadability though, but man did it look sweet! The Compaq....

low loss cable and a 18dbi antenna. The AP that I am trying to connect to is I tried to tune the
antenna to the right position, but the greatest signal that I was able to get is -80dbm (low/very
low)! I thought that the antenna was the problem, so I borrowed one from a friend (and a 15m cable
also). It turns out that the signal was a little bit worse (-82dbm) than before, so I borrowed a
