The beta software has been out long ago, and the application for it has been closed... Its just too bad for me as I've managed to register for beta testing just in time but I failed to get the downloads... However, its said that Vista Beta is rather fast but not that useable yet... It doesnt works well with many ppl and its still in the beta stage... So many ppl are waiting for the stable vers... read more.
I have heard and that there is a Windows Vista Beta version going around. I have been to a torrent site and found few there. But I’m not going to download it because i'm guessing it is illegal.
Do any of you here have Windows Vista Beta? If you do what are the system requirements for it to run.
And i have heard there are few versions of this beta, one without the graphical 3D software (decreasing system requirements), and one with it.
As far as I know there is the windows vista appearence like graphics, themes etc. But not more than that. I once downloaded it and installed but my antispyware indicated that it contains spyware so I immediately remove it. As for the look it looks fantastic. Could you please send me an email if you knew that there is a place where I can download windows vista full vergion? Thank you.
I believe taht it is being used by peopole who signed up as Microsoft testers. So if you didn't sign up, I think it will be hard to do it. If you can, try to find someone who is a tester who can download it. But make sure it is legal okay? Since it is in beta, it may not be able to be transfered. I know it looks awesome. As far as I know there have been two Windows Vista Betas that have been made available to members of MSDN (Microsoft Developers Network) and to other such like MS technical partners. There are currently no legal ways for members of the general public to acquire a Beta version of Vista.
Apart from the inability to get it why would you want it. XP is 6 years old (please correct if that is wrong) and MS are still issuing patches to fix the holes. a pre release version of Vista would likely be unusable. Plus to get the full fluid experience of the Aero GUI you need a fairly modern GPU with at least 512MB VRAM, and at least 1GB of main system memory, it will run on less, just not well.
Just out of curisoty since it is in fact a beta with probebly many bugs and problems why would you want to try one any way? Just wait untill it officially comes out. by the way when is that exactly?
Ok, as far as i know, Windows Vista is going to come out January next Year, it is the most anticipated windows release yet. For the sake, Bill Gates was at the E3 for his first time to talk about Windows Vista. So it should be good.
Ok according to a text file i have There are two versions of the two version out. One is the 64bit, and the other is the 32 bit. I have got a copy of Windows Vista, but i will continue no further. One is because of the legal matters and two because my computer doesn’t meet the system requirements.
I trying to get a contact with someone who is in the MSDN (Microsoft Developers Network). SO i could try to get more information, it would be cool, if it works like the Windows Live invites.
Idea: Microsoft should make it that people can download the beta version at their own risks, but that version will exterminate it self when the real version comes out. So people would have to go and buy their own. And would probably provoke hackers to find some kind of crack and that’s the end of that idea.
I really can’t wait for it to come out.
The cool thing about is the Games Live, so someone could be playing a Xbox Live game on his 360, and they could invite a person having the same game on his POC (Vista Running) for a game. I can especially wait for that feature. PC vs. XBOX30 LIVE, and they can use their XBOX360 gamer tag in Vista, without a new user creation. That would be cool.
One of the main reasons why most people do not use Beta software is because its full of bugs. If you are finding the Beta Version on the software its more than likely a spyware scam. All software when in Beta is full of bugs and issues. Yes it probably will look fantastic but crashing is way more likely and lots of other glitches. The only reason certain people get to use it is to report bugs to Microsoft to fix them. I have participated in Beta Testing before its not all fun and games. You have to have a good computer to do it too.
the wonderful OS will eat too much memory,if to install,i must enlarge my ram to 1G but the processor is still limited okay,just simulating the vista window feeling is also a good idea now.however,if to attempt it ,i would like to expect the coming fall,to wait the offcial version not beta
I wonder why some people want to have Windows Vista Beta version installed on their computers? The working versions of Windows operating systems are not working good, then why install something that will just give you problems. The Beta version will surely be crashing all the time. leave the testings to those Microsoft people, unless they would pay you for trying the latest Windows Vista.

I am really looking foward to this new beta. The things instore and the new technology available is eciting. With DirectX10 around the corner games will be capable of reacher higher resolutions and graphic capablilities. with this I hope microsoft doesent mess anything up, witch usually wat happens. They always mess something up and hence it is fixed a couple patches and hotfixes later.
The release date isnt a solid date however. There are going to be drwbacks, and the beta will probably last longer than it should. I dont know if I am going to try the beta software, because I dont want to risk my expensive system in such a way. But I can tell you that it is going to be a mjor upgrade for PC enthusiasts that are willing to pay the couple hundred dollars for the software.
With this, hardware will be capable of reaching new stability and performance, atleast I hope so... so gamers be on the lookout for this. its going to be great. (atleast I hope so).

software does is allow basically allows you to maintain a folder that is accessable from any
computer. Simmilar to how you can just upload a file to a website and re access it from anywhere
else. This gives it a very attractive UI and also makes it pretty simple so the not so tech savvy

I read yesterday that Microsoft will remove Windows XP from store shelves in June 2008, and, will
discontinue support for older versions all together. I like Xp over Vista , I tested both myself,
Vista uses too many resources, I even have 4 Gig of RAM and I could tell it was still "Laggy and

Just finished installing Xubutnu 6.06 Dapper Drake in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007., so I can have a
linux Web Server. Xubuntu runs pretty well with 512mb ram out of my 1.5Gb and a 2.6Ghz Celeron.
Took about 1.5hours to install and 2gb ish hard drive space. Pretty simple to do, download Dapper
Drake ISO from the Xubuntu website and Virtual PC from Microsoft. Install virtual PC. Create a
virual Pc, I recommend no less that 256mb ram allocated, create a virual hard drive ( about 5Gb, 2Gb
minimum) click start CD at the top mount the dapper drake image press F4 i think it....

and it's really cool. It's such a huge difference from the Office 2000 I've been using
for years. It's a big 450 mb download but I think it's worth it. You have to log in to
download it but all you need is a hotmail account and you don't even need to give them legit
info or anything. I just put in garbledy gook for all fields besides email. The installer is fairly
smart and will remove previous versions....

Well as I was updating and reinstalling everything on my computerm i came across microsoft ie7
browser since i was going to update it anyways and notice that beta 3 was out all i can say its more
stabled and alot faster i think also the interface is a bit more organized as well. They brought
down some of the icons to the tab bar so the the menu options are not taking up a huge amount of
space up top. but other then that it's comign along nicely i think being somewhat updated and
with a cleaner look as well.....
Ok, some people here have probabely been trying to make their computer look like Windows Vista. I
have to, i found themes and so on but nothing i like they were all crusty, i searched and searched.

Recently I've been getting sick of connecting to so many accounts on so many different clients.
It's troublesome to maintain so many accounts/programs. I liked using Trillian for a while but
it took too much processor memory and it can't connect to Skype or Googletalk (which I
haven't downloaded, but will do so when I find a suitable Adiumlike program). Does anyone know

I heard that VPC was extremely slow and was very bugged. It requires a VPC CD/CD KEY. I suggest
using Guest PC, which you can find free, but all you need is a real Windows CD, not an ISO or burned
CD. Guest PC is also said to be less bugged.....

Mostly for entertainment and to see whether Robert Szeleney (one-man shop) has made much progress on
it, I downloaded and installed SkyOS 5 beta 8.5 on my main basement x86, an eMachines T2958 with
add-in NVidia. I had tried 8.4 but had some issues. Fewer issues in 8.5. This is way-alternative,
far left (or right, rather) of Linux. For an early beta it's pretty slick. Looks and works a
bit like BeOS, but more current and with a custom GUI dev system (SkyGI) that beats the heck out of

How can I get stuff to automatically happen with XP Pro? I tried putting stuff in AUTOEXEC.BAT, but
it didn't happen. Is there some environment variable that I can edit or something I have to

Well if you haven't already heard here is the news brief, Windows 2000 server and personal
editions will no longer have support given to them as of June 30, 2005 and therefore no more
critical and or recommend updates. I knew the day would come when they would stop the support and
basically force everyone who wanted to remain updated with the latest security fixes and what not
would have to upgrade to windows XP home, professional, and or corporate. Therefore, making it so
that people have to buy the upgrade or full install and most people can't afford the pri....
