Okay, I had a thought here. Not too sure if it makes too much sence, but I'll give it a go, because I haven't noticed anyone else mentioning it. (Then again, it might not be this way with everyone's site) So, if you are getting links back to pages within your site, that can't be bad, because even if google is upping your page rank for those pages, and not your homepage in particular, at least some of your pages are getting a higher page rank. And with my site anyway, I've noticed that people who find it through search engines, like google, don't usually hit the homepage first, they are finding the page that contains the information about whatever it was they searched for in the first place. Now if that is where they are going to, and where they end up wanting to link back to, then that will just keep your page going higher in google for the next people that search for that same thing. This sounds good to mean, because then each page will slowly (or more quickly) go up in the search engine results. This makes you get more visitors, which in return gives you more link-backs with ups your rank, which gives you more visitors. It just seems like a winning situation from what I can tell. So, I can't see it as a bad thing. But I'm no expert here - especially when it comes to google's secrets

Your logic's a bit flawed: just because someone has found your page via a search, doesn't necessarily mean they're going to link back to it. They could just read the information they were looking for and then leave.

What I was going after, is that not 'everyone' is going to link back, but the more people that find that page, the more people are going to link back to it. And the more people to link back to it, the higher in the search engines that page will be so that even more people can find the page and possibly link back to it, starting the circle again. I'm not sure if that makes a little more sense now, but hopefully it does.

It's kinda like what I was saying in my post on the previous page: there is no 'bad' traffic. And yes, the more visitors, the more chances of links, even if it's not on the page the visitor arrives at first (they might link back to another page of the site after looking around for a bit or they might decide to link to the home page).

it's useless i think you post the link in a dynamic page, like forum php or asp then the search engine can not add the page to the data so this can not link from the data of engine so this will not rise your pr

If you build your web site in the open-source CMS Mambo, there is hope for getting rid of those ugly
dynamic URLs. There are several components for both Mambo and Joomla that turn
index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=223&Itemid=1 into /aboutus/our-history.html. Here issome
useful info. -404 SEF (now ARTIO JoomSEF) automatically makes SEF links. It works with most parts of
your site, but doesn't make SEF links for buttons (it does for links) in components. It lets you
create somewhat custom URLs, meaning you can enter a URL and its non-SEF destination. -Other use...

Internal Links
- (2)
Hi: Can somebody please clarify for me on the topic of internal links? On my page,
http://www.histology-world.com , I have a menu on the left. I have most pages on my site on the
menu. They all also have a link back to my homepage. However I use a relative directory
structure, rather than absolute. If I were to use the full page URL on the link back to my
homepage, would that hurt or help me in the search engines. Does that count as a link? If this
would help with search engine optimization, it would be a very easy change to make. I don't,
however, want ...
Backward Links

Hi: I sure hope somebody is able to help me with this one. I understand that google page ranking
depends in part on the number and quality of pages clicking to you. When I search on yahoo for
links to my site, I get a lot more links to: http://histology-world.com than I do to:
http://www.histology-world.com Yet they both are my site. I do not want to have my links diluted
by having two sites (one with the www and one without the www). Should I only have one URL and
delete the other one? (If i can...not sure I know how to do this). Google gives my page wi...
Who Links To You?
- Anybody get this to work? (10)
While snooping around on Google, I found the "Who Liks To You?" feature. (link:URL). I know of at
least 6 sites that link to me, but none of them show up when I use that option. I wrote to Google
about it. They sent me an okay response that gave me some other interesting info, but still
didn't explain why none of my link sites show up in the Who Links feature, when all of those
sites show up in a regular search, so Google knows where they are. (They're all real
domains--not subdomains, but they're small, no-traffic-yet sites.) Anybody else have any
