For me it's Netgear. I had it at my College, my Home, my Office. I also have Netgear Wireless Routers deployed at commercial access points. I also have another DLINK Router which is also very good. But Netgear is the best.

The Netgear DG834G I have at the moment is probably the best one I have ever used. The wireless doesn't drop out, the signal is consistent across my house and all the features you could want are available in the browser-based admin panel. It was also one of the cheaper ones available at the time I bought it

Dlink is cruddy. Belkin, I'd have to say. I used to work for a wireless data tech company. I'd go with a Belkin anyday, and leave the Dlink behind.

My family has four laptops all regurlary connected , and it handles it with no slow connections or dimmed speed. I forget what model it is , but it was one of the cheaper versions , but still worth my money. It was all very easy to set up too. about three wires here and there. Nothing as complicated as I'd thought it would be QUOTE(rvalkass @ Jan 10 2008, 06:38 AM) The Netgear DG834G I have at the moment is probably the best one I have ever used. linksys has been doing well for me for the last couple of years, thought it has its rough ends at the beginning due to being my first wireless router set up but it has been going smoothly for me. Wasn't to keen on the tech support but luckily for me I was able to get through it and thinking about getting a new one just to keep myself current.

For me, the Apple Airport Extreme works like a charm. Up to 50 different connections can connect through it at once (but if you have it encrypted, who really has 50 devices that use internet?) and it has a very large range. It took me about 10 minutes to set up, and I have yet to have any problems with it. Sure, I have a DSL connection and my DL/UL speed is slow as the Slowsky's from the Comcast commercials, but even so my router makes it not as slow because it processes information pretty quickly.

I use ZyXEL, and I haven't had a problem yet. It's reliable, and seems to keep up with my laptop. So I'm happy all round. Although I haven't used any other routers apart from Orange's Livebox. Which I also haven't had a problem with yet.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not to sure what the best router is at this present moment in time. So far since I've started to use the internet more often, I've used 1 modem, which was the Speedtouch 330 which I got when I purchased my broadband from BT, and then when I wanted to move into wireless, I got one of Belkin's high-speed internet routers, which has lasted me for over a year now, and has provided me with a fast service. Lately, I've been using a router which I got sent out for having my broadband for a good amount of time, which was the BT HomeHub, which has been very good. So far it has proved more efficient than the Belkin one, giving me faster internet, as well to the other computers in house. Also, it hasn't had any technical issues along the well... So far, from the 2 routers that I have been using, I would say the BT HomeHub has been the better of the two so far 9/10

I would also say that Linksys is the optimal choice. I have sold numerous Linksys routers to customers, with not a single complaint and LOTS of good feedback. I have gotten bad feedback from both Netgear and D-Link (especially D-Link). Also stay away from a company known as TRENDnet...I have yet to find one of their routers with good range and a strong signal.

Currently, i use a netgear wireless router. I have had zero issues with it and no dropped connections. I have used them for over 8 years now and have a total of two of them (getting a new one only to increase speed). With that said, i know there are a few models that netgear made that were not very good. However, i have never had one of them and the ones i do have are great.

I would have to say Netgear, my home network has been running on the same router for many years and everything works completely well. It even works of console systems and printers. And of course it has plenty of ports unlike my other junky 2wire router....ughh and I cant even change the router either for dsl, booo.

Issues With Router Freezing
(3) I am curious as to if anyone else here experiences random freezing with their routers. It seems to
happen to me most when using my D-Link, and I end up having to unplug it and replug it back in every

don't know the model number off the top of my head but I can go check if it is needed. As for

Wireless Access Point Setup
An issue of range. (12) I have a problem with how my current wireless router is set up, in a certain room I do not get a

buy another wireless router and set it up in the room of no signal, then run a Ethernet from that
router to my wireless one downstairs it should work. But instead of having two separate wireless

Wireless Router Problems.
Keeps dropping network. (8) I recently bought a laptop(HP Pavilion dv9000) with integrated wireless and I wanted to set-up
wireless in my house. So, I bought a wireless router, more specifically I bought a Netgear 108mps
router, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C0XS0 . Now I got the wireless router before I got
the router and set it up. But made all of the correct connections and ran the setup wizard. I got no
errors or anything. I set the security to WPA2 and set the passphrase and everything correctly also.
Now, when I got my laptop I set it up and everything and it found my wireless netw....
Wireless Vs Wired
(12) I'd just like people's opinions on a simple fact of connectivity, stability, and speed on
the aforementioned topics. I consider myself quite well versed in networking and computers, and
although I am well aware that my nForce NVIDIA mobo is more suited to network as it provides a much
better network management than any of the wireless plug in cards or usb adapters that I've yet
to see, I always figured 56mbps was more than enough than what I would need for my internet
connection (considering it's capped at 5mbps tops with the best of conditions). Even if ....

locate them using GPS (Global Positioning System). Has anyone ever heard about this device?....

I Just Want To Understand Better
the effect of bandwith on wireless (2) OK, so let's say we have an N network, with all N clients, and a Comcast pipe of 8 megabits per
second. N has a theoretical top speed of 540 mbps, let's say I'm getting 250. But, in
reality, I'm not getting 250, I'm getting 8. So in a way, unless you have a pipe larger then
54 mbps (the theoretical max of G), it is useless to upgrade to N. Is that correct or am I missing
something?....
Linksys Wireless Pci Card
(3) I have an old desktop at home that is used as a second PC (a sort of backup), for example if someone
is using the newer PC, or its running a virus scan or something. Anyway, this desktop was connected
into my network's router by about 30 feet of Cat5 cable, which was then hooked into the PC with
the use of an ethernet-to-USB converter (it has no ethernet port). We decided to move this desktop
elsewhere, which meant the cable would no longer be of use to connect it with. Despite the age of
the PC (around 7 or 8 years old) I decided to make wireless, so that no matter....

Belkin Pre-n Wireless Router And Macbook Pro C2d
Why can't I get the speed to 108? (3) Ok, here's the situation. I've got a Belkin wireless 802.11n (pre-n) router and it works
fine with it's own card in my Dell laptop. 108 Mbps all day long but I can't seem to get
that kind of speed with my MBP C2D. I just downloaded and installed the $2 firmware update today and
it's showing up in network utilities so I know it's active. I just changed the Belkin to
802.11g only thus giving b the boot. So, according to the software manual, it now will support g and
n. What can I do to get the n speed with this thing? Thanks.....
