| | I would run out of the house, go on the nearest highway, hijack a car, drive the car into a river over a bridge and jump on to the bridge in mid-air, come back to the house, watch the wall, get bored, pretend i'm spider man, and then redo.
No.
But seriously I think i'd go nuts and not be as "oh so smart" as I am . |

Well I certainly wouldn't be into web developing / web designing. I'd probably spending most of my days with things like related to Metal-Smithing. That'd actually my secondary choice of a career next to becoming a programmer. Well either that or an architect. Architecture requires a lot of University tuition though. I'd for sure be a lot more active in things like sports, socializing with other people, and going out just for the fun of it. I certainly wouldn't be as desensitized as I am today, if the internet never existed. It's quite intriguing to see what the internet has to offer, which is virtually everything. You just have to know where to look really. The internet has contains certain things that should never be viewed be anyone. Things like 'LOL Cats,' 'Clock-Spider,' 'All Your Base Are Belong To Us,' 'Star Wars Kid,' Chuck Norris Jokes, 'Leeroy Jenkins,' 'Ultimate Showdown,' 'Spaghetti Monster,' and countless other Internet Memes wouldn't exist. Which give us 'LOL's' but annoy most of us even more. There also wouldn't be any StumbleUpon, or StumbleUpon Insomnia. I'd probably be a completely different person if it wasn't for the internet. I'd probably be a much better person actually. I can't say why that is. But to me, it feel the internet is partially responsible for the way I act (what a surprise.), and my sense of humour. Doesn't it seem like the Internet teaches us to find humour in other peoples' pain? The world would be so different without the internet, because so many things are influenced by the Internet. It'd be hard to say what I'd do without it.

No internet, then I can't buy something I can't find in local market. I will refer yellow pages to find a repairman. I will go to library for a question with tens or hundreds books. In a word that's terrible.

If there was no internet i believe the world would be much different and i would be more active on the outside and be doing all the things i used to do before becoming a internet fiend like going out and playing sports hanging out at the library, movies and roaming the streets with friends. Im still active on the outside but without the net i would have more of a life, not saying i dont but the internet can get really addictive to people and for some it can be a way of live (shopping, meeting people, news, media etc.)

QUOTE(Spathi @ Feb 12 2005, 07:48 AM) without internet, i'd spend all, or at least most of my day either programming or learning how to program games. i'd be more of a waste of space than i am now yah i would do that too. but i would prefer to watch tv, hang out with my friends, visit places all around the globe, give more time to my girl friend and all. currently because of an internet freak i am light years away from my girl friend, watching movies, haning out with my friends and all other stuffs i love to do. i would spend more time to learn how to do this how to do that and i would spend more time to build my own real life business. i would read books and sketch my own car designs.

i wood hav tu start reeding tu get my hi skool dumbolma.......naoooo bak tu the pourn actually, it's true....remember the movie "cable guy"? when cable got shut off in the district, dude picked up a book like he was reading it all along. the older generation feel the internet is unproductive. they don't understand it. it's like setting the time on the vcr. they will never get it....even when you show them how to google something 1,000 times. i am who i am today partially because of the internet. back when the internet was semi-public, people always stated that the net wasn't the real world. i kept telling them they were wrong. especially when people would hurt others by the use of their words. it was then and will be tomorrow a form of communication and it's as real as it gets. although, it's easier to put on a mask behind a computer screen. i've experienced a lot on the net and i don't regret a single day that it was a part of my life, even during the most traumatic times on the net. i've learned alot, it helped me grow and now i get a pleasure of guiding others on and off the net ahhhh! did i mention i met my wife on the net? soulmates..... for sure, without the net, i would be a totally different person i also wouldn't have the pleasure of being on trap17 and trap17 wouldn't have the pleasure of banning me for not quoting

(0) Qoodaa Communications , which has been devoted to developing internet transfers services, innovates
and develops a new P2P technology, called MNP2P for short. It creates a new epoch of internet
transfers acceleration for large files. It is well known that the main downloading accelerative ways
are P2P and CDN. However, the traditional P2P needs multi-users download at the same time to
guarantee its downloading speed. BT is the most classic example of P2P. But CDN can ensure
downloading quality under the circumstance that there are a few downloading users and there is e....
Rich Internet Application - Who Is Going To Win The Race?
(7) Last couple of months we can see the competition between 3 major Companies Adobe, Sun and Microsoft.
Everyone wants to win the race. They introduced 3 products to develop RIA (Rich Internet
Application). Flex - Adobe. Silverlight - Microsoft JavaFX - Sun Flex is already in Production,
they have released Flex 3.0 beta. Flex SDK is open source and Blaze Data Services (part of Flex
needed for Server side Programming) is open source. but Flex IDE and LifeCycle (Super Set of
BlazeDS) is not free. Silverlight and JavaFX is still under alpha release. I believe these three te....
Is It Possible To Destroy The Internet?
(99) I have always wondered if it is impossible to destroy the internet all together... is this even
possible? If it is possible to destroy the internet what would you have to do? Would you have to
destroy all the Internet companys like comcast and aol? Or would that not even take care of it?
Just think, if someone took down the entire internet not only would our lives be boring but it would
basically destroy the U.S. & other big countries all at once.....

Skype Rule
Talk for free on the internet (7) This has been available for a while, but I only recently. This is a Voice over IP program that
allows you to talk to anyone on the internet anywhere provided they have the same program. The
software is free. The real amazing thing is the new feature you can now have real phone number. That
means someone can call you from a normal landline and you can call other landline numbers. They have
also just added the live video software also for free, so if you have a web cam you can see the
other person. I know, I know it is not all that new, but this is the first software that ....

Broadband In Gas
Carrying internet over gas pipelines (5) I recently read about a company called Nethercomm that is promoting a broadband in gas technology.
Apparently, this company has some patents pending on devices that can be installed in gas pipelines
that go to commercial and residential buildings to provide the "last mile" connection for broadband.
It appears the technology is based on radio frequencies propogated down the gas pipe as a wave
guide. Nethercomm boasts data rates up to 40 Mbps are possible to the home. Anyone know of any
actual implementation/trials of this technology going on presently?....
Internet Telephony - Any Experiences?
(10) I was wondering if anybody had any experience with internet telephony or voIP. I've tried Skype
with mixed results, and recently read an article about a number of fairly large companies who have
adopted it as a money saving venture. In the UK BT announced yesterday a new phone service whereby
when you take your phone outside your home it uses the Vodafone network, and when you use it at home
it automatically uses voIP over bradband. Sounds interesting.......

Internet Explorer.... With Tabs!
(22) Yes, it’s finally true. Stuck on like a big band aid, courtesy of MSN Toolbar 1.2, we have IE with
tabs. Well ahead of the release of Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft has done what they just absolutely
needed to do, and have provided tabbed browsing for Internet Explorer. Things are fairly undeveloped
at this stage, but reports talk about it running fast and supporting most features you'd want.
"It's a more powerful functionality in a pretty robust tool offering, which already has a
number of differentiators with form fill and the access to MSN services in the t....

erase ALL records of internet files (6) You might consider Webroot's Window Washer. It works with IE and AOL. Once you get off the net
it clears out all your internet activity, e.g. sites visited, temporary files, etc... then when it
completes it's 'wash' you just click to 'minimize' it so that it remains as an
active program. This will prevent someone else using your computer to find out what site's you
visited.. You may want to visit; www.webroot.com they have an array of products, and like anything
else everyone has their own opinion as to what works for them. I have Windows W....
Microsoft Confirmed IE7 Compatible with XP and newer
Internet Explorer 7 only for XP (26) Micrsoft confirmed what we've already expected. The new-coming explorer IE 7 will only be
compatible with windows XP and newer. The two reasons why old dinosaurs that still use Windows 2000
and lower won't be able to use the new IE are: 1. state in which is the extended support of
Windows 2000 and 2. mostly of technical nature (IE 7 is goin to have a few security updates and
imporvements, which bases on the functionality of the new XP SP2 and this is the reason for its
incompatibility with other versions of Windows) Source: Slashdot ....
Voip(voice Over Internet Protocol)
real money saver (16) VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is the communication technology of the future for sure. Legacy
technology carries voice signals over analog circuits and lines. Voice over IP converts the analog
signal to digital and transports the signal to the receiver where it is converted back from digital
to analog and the receiver hears the sender's voice. This provides a more efficient and
economical means of communication. I have know VOIP for quite a some time since i started online.
Most of the time i use msn messeger or yahoo messeger to chat with my friends. Recently,....

satellites connections (phones) had a large delay due to the range of transmission. Would anyone
