I have upgraded once again [Intel Pentium 4, 2.8GHz CPU and a Chaintech A-GT60 AGP NVidia GeForce4 Ti 4600 with 1GB DDR SDRAM video accelerator. Reasons? Simple: to play full-screen high-definition Video/DVD/MPEG in zillion colors, real-time DirectX3D/OpenGL 3D games and draw/manipulate true-color/rendered graphics/3D animation under "proper" conditions. ... Oh, and did I forget to mention, also to OVERCLOCK... NOTE: I have purchased each component separately (shopped around for best prices/deals first), and then assembled my computer entirely from ground up.

Looking at your specs makes me dizzy! I'm using a pretty old computer already: HP Pavilion mx50 - 1 GHz - Intel Pentium III processor - 30 GB - 128 MB SDRAM (originally) + 128 = 256 - 24 BIT screen resolution I don't know what SP I'm using...but anyways, it's still a slow computer

Ouch, some of you guys have seriously heavy stuff. Only thing impressive about my system is it's got 5 Hard Disks. They keep suviving the upgrades, I have a 8 Gb system, 30 Gb Appz, 80 Gb Odds & Ends, 120 Gb Mp3 and 200 Gb Video disk. Two of these are on the RAID IDE. The rest is quite old; Atlon 1800+ on MSI K7T266 Pro-R, 640 Mb Ram, GeForce 2 MX400, 19" Digital monitor (Now THAT is Heavy Stuff!). Still Using a DVRaptor for Video.

Complete Processors Specs List
a nice little list with a whole bunch of processors specs (0) I found this webpage with a huge list of processors with a bunch of their specifications such as how
much heat they resist, their speeds, and their voltage. I really find it interesting, there are some
companies that dont exist such as Cyrix, I have an old compaq that has a Cyrix processor here in my
closet. This is a really interesting page for those of you who would like to know about all the
processors ever made and learn a little history, and how much they have evolved. The webpage is:

Good Dvd Drive? (and Other Specs)
(4) I'm wondering if you can help. If I'm looking at a new DVD drive what would you recommend?
Don't worry about price range, I'll save up if I have to. Also, is there a reason to upgrade
my sound card? It's at the latest an '02 model. I'm at work now so I can't check it.
But sound on the latest games seems to work fine, aside from an occasional skip. Actually here's
a good question. I want to play F.E.A.R. when it comes out. Bad. It looks cool. I realize that the
tech specs for it haven't been released as far as I know, but would you ....

Socket A and pretty decent or Socket 939 and poor specs? (3) I am building a computer soon, and I dont know which to go for. I am leaning torwards socket 939
becuase I can upgrade to AMD 64 3X00 latter when I have more money, but that wont be for at least 6
months. So, then I started thinking about getting a socket A computer that has an AMD XP 3000+. If I
get the socket A, I can get a 128MB VC and a Gig of RAM, but if I get the 939 I will have to settle
with intergrated video and 512MB of RAM for a while. I am asking you this, should I go for socket A
or 939?....
