I can't believe I haven't replied to this topic in all this time. What I use to edit my website depends on which computer I am using. If I am using my Windows PC then I'll usually use Notepad++ for anything quick, or Eclipse for a major project. The various plugins available for Eclipse make it a great environment for coding anything. When I'm at school I use Dreamweaver, simply because they have nothing else that will do syntax highlighting, or Notepad.
On my laptop I run Kubuntu, so I can still use Eclipse for any major work, but I use something like Kate for any quick and simple work I need to get done. illustrator (to design the site, then convert it into html plus-should be CS2 or newer) imageready (adobe-limited control over some content/context) flash adobe designer (to help with online/printed forms and documents) adobe go live director free website/webhosting site controllers; http://www.computinghost.com/ http://www.hostmonster.com/ (est. $4.95-$6/month. rated in top 10 in 7 review sites.)-2-3gb http://www.rackspace.com/index.php?CMP=Goo...top+web+hosting (est. 440/month@ 12 month contract. rated in top 10 in 4 review sites.) http://www.mosso.com/system.jsp (est. $100/month.) http://imagiserv.co.uk/ (check pricing online. not found at website for american pricing.) http://startlogic.com/products_prologic.html (est. $5.95-$6.95/month. $43.45/year [$30 set up fee free] rated in top 10 in 6 review sites.)-supports shopping carts, java, email and web builders/forms, perhl, cgi bins.-300gb https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shar...mp;ci=9072#tabs (est. $3.59/month for 12 months. rated in top 10 in 2 reviews) 5gb (50 email forwards, forums, blogging and photos. extra research/info. to upload dreamweaver and flash constructed sites.) http://www.bluehost.com/ (est. $6.95/month.) rated in top 10 in ALL review sites.)-supports shopping carts, java, email, web builders/forms, perhl, cgi bins, and multimedia.-300gb sincerely, shah boogie I has use a lot all of macromedia suit like Dreamweaver ultradev4 , 4 , mx , mx2004. Is there another good program to design website than macromedia dreamweaver? I just want to try other software may be I will get a new idea and effect for my site. PS. don't try 2 answer microsoft frontpage hehehe
I generally use a combination DreamWeaver CS3 and Frontpage 2003 for the web coding while photoshop CS3 and fireworks CS3 are for the graphical designing. If I have anything to do with flash, I prefer Flash CS3 professional. I combine both DW and Frontpage because I have found out that there are somethings that DW cant do which FP can do and some things which FP cant do which DW can do.
It makes the whole designing a more easier for me if I combine both.
Thanks for that info odomike, I've never gotten to try out FrontPage yet
Myself - I use Photoshop (CS2 on school and CS3 at home), Dreamweaver (CS2 at school and CS3 at home), Flash (yeah you know the drill Coding isn't anything of my particular skills, so f.ex i could easily design a cool busty design, but i have no idea how i would convert it to an editable website. But it's the THOUGHT that matters! Long Live BRAINS! ;P

Well i use ,,a software called webpage maker.
Web Page Maker is an easy-to-use web page editor that allows you to create and upload web pages in minutes without knowing HTML. Simply drag and drop objects onto the page and position them freely in the layout. It comes with several pre-designed templates that help you to get started. It also includes ready-to-use navigation bars that can be inserted into the page. Additional features include built-in color picker, Java script library, image library and built-in FTP client. i hav been using this since a year , i have abosultely no knowlege about php, scripts. but i m learning, and processing, the best feature of this it can include HTML/SCRITS , jus drag and rop. tats the basic funda. Love this Web pagemaker, try it. I use notepad++ to edit my website, I only need this because I use CSS and only use a bit of graphics (small ones). Notepad++ is a great piece of software. It's the only one I use since I the bulk of my sites are PHP codes. It does include a WYSIWYG editor but I don't use it at all. I focus more on functionality than on design. I'm a programmer not a designer. I'm not very creative
I use Photoshop for graphics and Joomla for building the site. If anybody doesn't know how to code, or doesn't know what joomla is, here is some brief info.
QUOTE Joomla! is an award-winning Content Management System (CMS) that will help you build websites and other powerful online applications. Best of all, Joomla! is an open source solution that is freely available to everybody. Joomla! in Action Joomla! is used all over the world to power everything from simple, personal homepages to complex corporate web applications. Here are just some of the ways people use our software: * Corporate websites or portals * Online commerce * Small business websites * Non-profit and organizational websites * Government applications * Corporate intranets and extranets * School and church websites * Personal or family homepages * Community-based portals * Magazines and newspapers * the possibilities are limitless… Joomla! can be used to easily manage every aspect of your website, from adding content and images to updating a product catalog or taking online reservations.
Ultraedit - the best darn almost free text editor there is. Photoshop CS2 and Xara X1 or Corel Draw 10 whatever the job requires. Recently I did a vector graphic from a scan of an old drawing done in like 1867. Corel Draw trace and some tweaking did the trick in really short time. I was going to do it all from scratch in Xara which might have taken me 8 hours and here it was done in like an hour. Bonus 'cause I charged the same price and the client was very happy.
I do use Dreamweaver but only for managing the ftp of all my sites and when I need to make a Dream Weaver template for a website. Usually this is only needed on larger sites. Better to know what you're doing and use CSS styles and a good text editor.
