A forum script to mimic "certain look" is all in the forum skin. You can actually have phpbb to resemble IPB with just a change in the skin. I'm not sure if you have seen how IPB is controled, but in my experience any free forum script that best resembles IPB is SMF - Simple Machines Forum http://www.simplemachines.org/ . This is only because how SMF admin control and the behavior when it comes to customizing the layout of the board. However, SMF does not offer many mods for the board.

Yeh I used to use SMF, people hated the forums... and I hate phpbb, but there are forums where u can only use mods on the default style, so i like to use mods and I like the default style to look neat

Why dont you just get the free version of IPB i think it's version 1.3 thats free and you are legally allowed to use it, plenty of mods and you can get skins to make it look like IPB 2

waht is your problem with phpbb? vbulltin is one of the best but it is not free like phpbb but it is securer than phpbb  phpbb is an open source script and then there is so much added abilities

goto hotscripts, and look for a board that suits your needs. There is MORE than just phpbb. phpbb is the most configurable one out there, but there are others that may offer more than you want but less than phpbb. Invision is a nice one as well

I suggest, you to use IPB itself. It has a neat interface and the system is pretty secure too. So, maybe you should use IPB. DO google for free scripts . YOu will definitely land on manyt scripts . But still , i dont think you will find any Bulletin . There are also many skins for these being made available today.

I used to have a phpbb and i liked it, it was okay. Then i used an invisionfree, and i liked that one a lot more. Im pretty sure that there are a lot more than just those two. Just have to look into it and try to find a good one. Im pretty sure that you can find some good ones off of google.

Yeah I have to say that phpBB is quite a pain the behind to make , but once you get it started then it is awsome. I would suggest that you have someon ehelp you with it, but if anything I would use invisionplus, or invisionfree. They are not as flexable but they are easy to use. Forumer is also a nice one to use, I have used each of these but these and I found invisionplus to be the nicest. However, it did not allow as many features and invisionfree. Invisionfree also seems to have a better admin-to-member relationship. Well good luck

SMF is so far good , has many preferences never exist even in $$ forum scripts and yet stable .PHPBB is very typical , needs lot of work to customize .I personally prefer SMF !

Is the PHP code convertable? (1) I use Proboards Forums, which doesn't allow PHP. I've been looking for a RPG forum game for
Proboards. But sadly, they only come in PHP. So, I was wondering, is it possible to convert that PHP
into HTML? Can Java Script be converted into HTML, too? Some of these codes are in java, as well.
If you don't know, the RPGs have stats, classes, battling, shops, ect. I've seen it on many
forums. I know that boards like InvisionFree abd PHPBB are great for this kind of thing, but I feel
comfortable on Proboards. Plus, those boards confuse me. I know it's sil....

Blogging Software
can anyone suggest me? (9) I am looking for a blogging software for wordpress. I know of Windows Live Writer Beta, but the
only problem with it is it doesn't accept html tags in a post while in wordpress it is possible

(5) I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to go for building a site that I can run
a small-sized community with maximum costumization as well as hook a portal up to it so I can post
content on the site, guides, block messages of text, etc... I was think of going with IPB or PhpBB

column widths). The thing is that when I previously previewed it in other browsers it showed the
whole page - a but squashed, but everything was in the window without having to scroll horizontaly.
