| | I have Ad-Aware 6.0 and Spybot. Are there any other good ones that anybody recommends? I used to have Spysweeper but it like messed up my internet thing so that I couldn't sign on (I have AOL). I think that I have a lot of spyware that they didn't find, are there any other good spyware removers? |

I prefer adaware, but it helps to use both adaware and spybot. If those two don't get rid of the problem then you will have to figure out what specific application is the spyware and get rid of it using a specialized utility. For example, if you have Cool Web Search, you get rid of it by using CWShredder. I would suggest going into Add or Remove Programs and if anything looks supicious look it up on Google. Sometimes virus scanners can catch really bad spyware/trojans.

I reccomend Hijackthis and Spybot S&D, i dont however reccomend Ad-aware....because it doesnt like to work for me half the time and just lies about deleting the spyware and says it quaranteens it, meanwhile it does sweet *BLEEP* all. Go for Spybot S&D for sure tho, Hijackthis will help with browser hijackers and crap that starts up with the system.

yea, ad-aware and spybot are the best free one. if you want free adware/spyware protection, try spyware guard, and spyware blaster

Ad Aware, no contest. It's free and easy to use. And, it has exact unstructions on what you want to do or what to do next.

I've used Adaware to get rid of some spyware, and its pretty thorough. Adaware is excellent for getting rid of spyware. I haven't tried Spybot yet, but I think that's another good program.

I myself use Ad-Aware by Lavasoft and Spybot: Search and Destroy. Both are useful in getting rid of both adware and spyware from your system. You should periodically run your system in safe mode and use both of these programs to completely clean your system of all the garbage. Here are the links: Ad-AwareSpybot: Search and Destroy

Most definately ad-aware and spybot but i recommend going with the latest free edition not just what it shows on the site. or you can try to download a better version off of a P2P network and get the registration key for it at www.cracks.am but i would not recommend this just get a free edition of ad-aware and spybot and clear them out every month or so, jsut to see the progress your comp is making

Adaware sometimes hangs in my computer. It is free and without those annoying nags and ads, and the company is a respectable one. However, I would say that the line between viruses and adwares are becoming more and more blurred that adware remover will someday become another virus scanner. In fact, that’s what virus scanners like Norton are doing, adware removal is now included in 2004 afterwards. Seems that there is no need to get another adaware remover now.

Has anyone been hijacked by an aol-search page? This page jumps from my yahoo email accounts.... maybe from other pages too but notice it most from there. I've run adaware and various spyware removes, no luck. I don't know if it's a real aol search page, it couldn't be since aol would never allow that. But how annoying that it refuses to be removed! I can't find the source.
