Thank you very much, noxit!
...or you could just use xampp it's great it has like 10 services and it's super-easy to install...all you need to do is run a batch file...
What's xampp? Does it also install PHP and all those fully? easyPHP sounds pretty easy already. And if you use xampp or easyPHP to install, does it make any difference?
never heard of Xampp...what is it ..???plzzz give details.
Easy php is easy to use then the xampp because it has a more detialed and well described intro
let me tell you thatt php as a language is incredibly easy once you get the basic hang of it...plus there are so many guys proficient ion this language ready to help you. Nevertheless, the hardest part about php is installing and configuring the php language on your local server iis, apache, or whateva', then if that was easy, try using it with a database like....mysql....

[edit: title changed. -s] for learning php, this forum is what I found out about 2 years ago when I was searching for PHP learning. for addition, you can try for code walker and also zend those sites allow you to give your email address so you will have new codes almost daily (or maybe it's daily). and I must say it's impressive because I have so many great codes from those sites. for package, I would say having separately PHP, MySQL, and Apache needs a difficult understanding. having one of the package will save much of your day I guarantee it. EasyPHP is a good one, but I ony have their outdated version so I don't know very well. an another good package is WinLAMP, because I had good time using that package.
Just keep going with the PHP tutorials and put the .php files in your trap17 webspace. There are plenty of things you can do right here without going through all that trouble. If you want database then find a host with database. (not sure if trap17 offers this or not)
No need to download and install and configure... that's only if you want to learn how to administer a server.
XAMMP is extremely is and is well documented. All you have to do is download their installation program and then run it. It will then allow you to start the apache (which includes php) and mysql services. Then all you have to do is either put your files in the web folder or create a virtual host (see the tutorial section here on how to do it). Then you are all set and can easily learn to program php on your own pc without ever having to upload a file to web server to test them
no need to worry about that.
so many software bundle that will automize installing php, apache and mysql at one click. if i were u, i will make google to be my best friend. learning spirit is the most important and good tutorial links also important. so, start googling then.. cheers,
