| | I actually need a new pair of headphones as well. The tops of my Apple headphones popped off, and now they don't produce sound. I just bought of Philips In-Ear headphones, but they were too big to fit in my ears, and I hated the assymetrical design. I didn't like the fact that the cord for one earpiece was much longer than the other. Apparently it is designed this way so you can put the cord around you head to prevent tangling, but it isn't the design for me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like earbuds rather than the big over-the-ear ones. |

I beleive that sony products are medium - high quality, most of their headphones, earbuds, etc. are worth buying if they're looked after properly and aren't thrown around, i personally just bought a pair and they worked for about a week and suddenly started making static sound, mind you i was walking in the rain from school, but all in all they are worth buying if nothing unexpected happens.

Unfortunately, you need to spend more and go higher up to get anything close to high quality. Don't think about anything lower then.... $80 or so. I've had a pair of Sennheiser PC 160's that has lasted me YEARS and still sound fantastic. I've recouped on the expensive $140 price tag as I havent needed to spend to get more 'phones, while enjoyed better sound with more comfy phones too

I currently use Shure SCL2 in-ear earphones, it cost me 65 bucks after some searching. The sound quality is amazing, and the cords are somewhat thick, which basically guarantees that they'll last at least 2 years, according to reviews I've read. I highly recommend these earphones. Also, the sound isolation is fantastic, if not dangerous

As far as headphones go - Sony make really good Playstations....... I tried a Sony gamers style headset with microphone - it died within about a month and I didn't have the receipt to exchange them. I currently use 2 different sets. 1. My Sennheiser noise cancelling earbuds for when I just need sound on my laptop or to listen to my MP3 player. and 2. A great set of Logitech USB stereo heaphones with microphone for MSN or skype chat. My son has the same set for the desktop PC and uses them for playing Counterstrike and he swears by them.

I can't hate on Sony. I have had only wonderful experience with them. I will say that their higher end stuff is overpriced (it's good, but not $bajilion good). I needed a stereo a while back with a $200 budget (US$), and I checked out every stereo at every store I went to, but for a low-to-mid-priced bookshelf stereo, my $170 CMT-HPZ9 is amazing! I love the sound quality for the price. I have more recently purchased some MDR-XD200 headphones (about $30 I think) and could not be happier. I mean, who puts 40mm speakers in $30 headphones?! I don't own anything else from Sony, but when I go shopping at a mall in a bigger city, I can't help but be drawn into the Sony Style shop (not to mention the Bose store). All I can say is that for a small budget, you can get better than just an illusion of crisp sound.

coming out of it, and so I sent it for repair into Kwiktron. 2 weeks later (awfully a long t....
