I have already used: Spy Sweeper, Spybot, Ad-aware, mccafe anti-spy, microsoft anti-spyware and others, but the webroot spy sweeper is the best!! its shareware, but download the trial!

I agree with the mod, some more insight into why you think it is that good would be helpful. So far I'm using Spybot, but I'm always on the lookout for better alternatives.
I think my school uses this on their network. I don't know how good it is. I haven't personally used it myself. I guess the more spyware scanners you have the better your computer can be safe from prying eyes. What makes you say this is the best spyware scanner???

I used ''Spy Sweeper, Spybot, Ad-aware, mccafe anti-spy, microsoft anti-spyware and others'' and the one that caught more spywares in my computer is the spy sweeper. Plus i saw a lot of antivirus testing sites and spy sweeper always take place 1º or 2º or 3º so...Spy Sweeper Rox.
Well, I used Webroot Spy Sweeper by recommendation of a friend and I have to agree is very good:
Pros: It has a cool interface, it's very flexible (you can tell him to analyze only what you want) doesn't bother you a lot with messages except… (Read cons)
Cons: When you install something in general it bothers you with messages like "a new program is being installed, do you authorize it?" and “a file has been setup to start with windows, do you authorize it?”, I know it is for security, but that of new programs being installed without your notice doesn't happen a lot now and the “file started with windows” is very unlike for a normal user to recognize what is it (i.e. when you install MSN Messenger, it asks you if you let CTFMON.exe to start with windows, a normal user won’t know what is that…). And the other con it has is that despite the interface is very nice; it's a little heavy, not like Norton, but heavier than Microsoft Anti-Spyware...

Spy Sweeper so far has worked the best for me for everything. It seems that whenever I get a virus I'll try 10 different virus scanners and the only one that will get to the source is Spy Sweeper and it will get rid of them for good. This included a keylogger and some Internet Explorer bug thing. I really think it's the best way to go Anti-Virus wise. It seems to work the best for me.
I have used Spy Sweeper before. It sure is the best anti-spyware , it can block a lot of annoying advertising web site from acessingmy computer. I highly recommend that you should use this anti-spyware software. A lot of other company's products can't block them and Spy Sweeper also has a very large database , too.So I think it is the best.
Just installed Linux Ubuntu on a partition with Wireless access to the Internet and have a question
about the need for an Ani-virus software. Is it suggested to have it installed? and which one is
recommended by the Trap17 users? Ubuntu 8.04 installed via Wubi, if that matters. Both the LAN
hard-wire connection and the Wireless Adapter work, if that matters.......
Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew of a good free lightweight antivirus program, as I just got
an internet connection on my slower computer. The computer itself can hardly be called
internet-ready, it's over 10 years old, but it still works fine, the problem is I'm worried
that an antivirus program would slow it down too much. (I have Norton Antivirus and Firewall on my
other computer, which is much faster, and it slows down the computer a lot, especially booting. I
kinda want this computer to be usable online.) I know that there are some great programs out ....
I have often wondered how you can deal with spyware effectively. As a matter of fact, I seem to find
spyware more dangerous than viruses. The thing is, I use Spybot search and destroy, gets great

I think avast antivirus is the best antivirus software, it is free and avilabe for everyone, it scan
every thing fast, each page you open, each file you download, and everything thats working on the
computer, t is really good, it stops the danger so fast... Try it and let me know....

This piece of software is very cheap and powerful, I´ve tested a lot of software against numerous
kinds of attacks, and the one that defended my stations best was it. Give it a try!....

You should be very careful with these two software Spy Sheriff and Spyware Quake. Spy Sheriff is a
virus / spyware that can harm your computer quickly , I downloaded it and tried scanning and always
receive a list more than 20 Spywares. And then I tried looking for some information about Spy
Sheriff and known recently that it is a very dangerous Spyware , it can attack another trusted

this is a huge file. 22.9 Mb to be exact. So it took me about 2 and a half hours to download. Now,

Well I picked Norton 2006 last night since my subscription ran out so I thought I give a review on
it and let you the members of trap get a good idea what it all before getting it. The First thing I
notice what was different then most Norton software after it install it automatically does the first
scan of the computer (13 warnings_adware). Also for the first time it checks programs that connect
to the internet as well but just a bit better as well then that awful 2005 where the block programs
came up ever 2 minutes that was finally fixed. Also it does a tab FYI on yo....
As im a flash junkie i need some other tools ti empower my applications and make them look pretty
beautiful so i downloaded the new Fireworks version (8)..there are new panels very useful and u can
easily see why they are there for or how to use them, the first panel i saw was the "frames".. used
to create animated gifs it seems to flash but the panel is on ur right side so it looks strange

Yesterday I was surfing the net and new virus was detected in my computer, its called
w32.bloodhound. Currently I am using Nortong Antrivirus Corporate edition version 9. This program
detect the virus but was not able to remove it. IF you people have encountered this virus? what
program or anti-virus did you used? Also there I have found a program in my add remove program
called BullEyeNetword and I can't remove the program. Can you please give me hint on how to

Is there such an animal as a spyware and adware free Peer to Peer network. I've been using
K-lite 2.7 and I have been having problems locating the files I want. I used to use Ares before I
reformatted but I got tons of spyware from it, but there was much more files found during searches.....
well, I got a spyware on my other computer. First, I searched with Ad-Aware, then with Norton
Antivirus. Antivirus detected a spyware that Ad-Aware didn't detect, named
"Spyware.Marketscore". But it can't repair the file or delete or whatever. And I know that the
spyware is installed with another program I installed for some weeks ago, but I have uninstalled the
program now. But the spyware is still there. The infected file can be found in
%Windows%/system32/osmim.dll Can someone help me? And do you have the file osmim.dll too? I need
to know if I can dele....
i find norton anti virus to be more of a hassle than anything on my system. i currently have it
disabled because of the constant warnings and 'tips' it 'provides'. i have talked
with other people about this, and have set up someones new computer that they have little knowledge
about and the responses i get are the same, people are annoyd with it. do you find it protects well?

So I was updating my free version today and it told me that I had 5 things in my vault. I was
wondering if emptying it would be the good thing to do. I mean do I just keep the virus' in
there? Or do I empty it and are they then deleted?....
