It's a very well done site Jimmy. Those pictures somehow make me think about Imperial Stormtroopers.

Your site is very well designed - everything is easy to access, easy to read and very clear. The colours work quite well together and the size of the writing is OK (1280x1024 19" monitor). You pass W3C validation for the markup, which is good, although a few CSS errors are thrown out that you might want to look into. Otherwise, a very well designed and made site.

Thanks for pointing out the CSS errors rval (Warnings? I got six warnings and no errors when I ran it just now!? - interested to hear what errors you got) I'll get on it... If it was the warnings you mentioned, I decided to ignore them as theyre all "same colors for color and background-color in two contexts .. and .." or "same colors for background-color and .."
As you can see it looks ok in the actual thing

So do you reckon that the main body text colour is clear and readable..?
I was sorta thinking (its OK for me, but..) that it may be slightly difficult shade of grey to read?

Rval... Nice Butterfly II sig there... looks cool!

I just added a 1px border around the images (using css) I was thinking of doing it
and it does make everything and those images look significantly better.
Its especially nice using css so that I don't have to photoshop it into the actual image - also means I can compress my images more without blurring the surrounding border!

this is the css it takes - for an external css file:
change the bit where it says imageborder (leave the dot) if you wish to change the name of the class to link images that you want a border around.

Put the img in a div with a class like this and it immediately adds the border!

Any more suggestions? maybe change each header colour from grey to something a little more colourful?

Nice work! It's good that it's all valid. However, I think you'd have more fun with a more flexible CMS like WordPress or TextPattern, rather than CuteNews!

I have to say not bad looking site and it's xhtml strict to which is a challange to validate, althought it is valid heres a couple of warnings they mention (most likely minor ones) for the html and CSS. I think the background should use a gradient background, the light blue color seems a bit a distracting but thats just me.

to comment on biscuit posst yeah a better blog software would be better but by the looks of the simplicity of the site cutenews would be a simple enough software to use.

It looks pretty good, or maybe i'm just saying that since it's blue. But yeah, it seems to be stable too, nice. Oh yeah cool photo effects too.

Good Job!

When I first went to the site no offence but it made feel like I misspelled a web address. Very nice pictures though, I myself was trying to get a picture of squirrel today.Now whenever i went to the links I sorta felt lost,but i get lost in my own house sometimes.When i clicked on contact me I thought this is what your site needs to look like.I know if i made a site that looked like that I would be pacing the floor smiling and smoke 10 cigarettes.

you did say that brown wasn't you're favorite colour and blue and orange go together well. I thought it was orange

hey jimmy, it looks nice and clean, the menu is very clear and easy to navigate. i just dont like the colors but that is a personal thing. i am not that much into brown. i think myself if you make it orange it is a lot better. bleu and orange go well together. it makes a nice contrast. but that i personal.
you did a good job here.

The site looks very clean cut and organized. A few things that i personally would change are the following:

1.) When you are on the sark photos 1 page, below the navigation bar you have a gradient tiled image and then just black. This just doesnt fade into the black perfectly and looks a little weird. I would either just do a plain gradient, gradient the whole thing, or just get rid of it.

2.) Your copywrite notice is on the background color and looks a bit out of place. I would either just put it in the white background area just below all of the content.

3.) Your contact us page has a completely different design and thus makes me wonder. Either move it to the same design or add a new form.

Besides these 3 small things, your site looks good.

I'm sorry to say I didn't have the time to manage because of exams and also I modded the .htaccess file for a different site. This meant the content generated via cutenews CMS I was using doesn't appear anymore.

My site will now redirect to my bigger, new project that has a LOT more content!

Alex it made me laugh when you said you almost closed the window because it was a parked domain

Any further reviews from here onwards will probably be on my now main site, where the newer reviewers might not realise it's not projectjim.co.uk any more!!!!
