I want to know how to make a batch file that will run a program at a certain time of day, like a scheduled thing, but i want it in a batch.. lol.. Easy enough?

What you are looking for is called a 'cronjob' and would be available once you are Hosted.
Various Operating Systems have different systems in place for Task Managers to perform these 'scheduled' jobs. Windows has theirs stuffed away under Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks. Might start there to see what you can find if you are running XP.

In windows you need to be able to see the file's extension so you can rename a .txt file to .bat
This batch code I wrote searches your C:\ drive for video files and drops the results into a

I wish to execute a command at regular intervals .....precisely every half an hour....Is there any
Dos command which can do it I havent found any so far...and i've heard there are no timer
commands in DOS. So how should i go about it...i want the batch file to be executed at regular
intervals....any external process or application that will invoke it?????....

I was watching Star Trek the other day, I think it was Voyager. Anyways I was wondering.. They refer

Hi All, I don't see any thread discuss about the pros and cons of different languages to help
beginners, but i'm asking for a slightly different reason. I have been programming for about 1
year now, and I know only Visual Basic. I am planning to learn some other programming langauges.
I've learned that once you've learned one language, pretty much all you have to do is learn
a new syntax to learn a new language. So, now I'll get to the point. I think that I should begin
to specialize in a language. I don't know which language I should learn and ....

I want a thread where I can see how to solve a Varity of programming problems in many languages. The
idea is so I can read short examples to become fluid in many languages. Both reinforcing what I know
and learning new stuff. The problems should have a short solution and be solvable in many different
languages. Web applications are alright but make some reference on how the code is used (e.g. CGI).
