Okay guys, I'm having a bit of a problem regarding my website and domains. Basically, I have about 6 domains...I want 3 or 4 of them to go to my main site (a blog), and the other 2 to go to another directory of the site (a graphics forum), so I've been trying to set up my cpanel to be able to do this. The current setup is like this: plusone.trap17.com -- my blog plusone.trap17.com/forums or forums.plusone.trap17.com-- graphics forum As an example, I have these two domains registered: jrockett.info plusoneconcepts.info and I want them to direct like this: jrockett.info --> plusone.trap17.com plusoneconcepts.info --> plusone.trap17.com/forums or forums.plusone.trap17.com I want them to actually go to those locations, and not just be a redirect, but all I've been able to do is make domains go to my main site plusone.trap17.com. So is there any way, maybe by .htaccess files, that I can set it up so that some domains go to the front page while others go to a subdirectory?

A CNAME pointer might help. A computer hosting a Web site must have an IP address in order to be connected to the World Wide Web. The DNS resolves the computer’s domain name to its IP address, but sometimes more than one domain name resolves to the same IP address, and this is where the CNAME is useful. A machine can have an unlimited number of CNAME aliases, but a separate CNAME record must be in the database for each alias.
Usage Note: While CNAME is short for canonical name, use of the abbreviated term implies that one is referring to the canonical name record, not simply the canonical name.

Strange, that's exactly what I tried yesterday and it didn't seem to work, I forgot exactly what happened though. EDIT: BH, Have I mentioned I love you? I figured out what the problem is...basically, BH's method did what I wanted it to, but for some reason it was showing a "no page at this address" cpanel message, but it was just because the site didn't know that the index was a php file, so I had to edit the .htaccess to reflect that. The only thing I don't get is why it requires a password for the addon domain...seems like it should be an option. Now, that's one issue down, I just have to deal with the other hundred.  Thanks BH. I'll leave this unlocked in case future problems arise or if anyone wants to discuss a similar issue. I'll try it again and see if it works.

Ohh, I see. So it's only used for FTP access to certain parts of the site, rather than the whole one, right? Like if you were to allow someone (or everyone) to upload files to a certain directory, provided they have the password. Neato.

Return From Haitus

Page Load Error When Trying To Get Into Control Panel
I just changed domain (2) I had put a domain name that I didn't have when I registered my website. I got the 15 credits
and changed it to a subdomain. Now I can't log into my control panel. At first it was telling me

Question About Changing Domain Names.
(8) Hey guys how's it going! I just had a quick question about changing domain names. My domain
now is fearclan.trap17.com, and I wanted to change it to fearclan.org. How should I do it? Do I use
the credit system and it will give me my own domain for free? Or do I have to buy a domain name from

Addon Domains
What exactly are they? (4) Sorry if I should have read certain bits of the forum for an answer to my question, but I have
looked and cannot seem to find it in the usual topics. I would like to find a bit more about
domains, and especially addon ones. I see from my cpanel that you can have 9 parked domains and 9
addon domains. At the moment I am using 1 parked domain, which I use as an address for my website
and email. I did it like that since that was the way I was advised to set up my domain. But, if that
is the purpose a parked domain serves, then what are addon domains? Can you, just like wit....
Giving Out Subdomains
(1) Okay.. so i was wondering if theres a way to give out subdomains names, without actuly hosting them
on my cpanel/account such as cheese.have-heart.net or so, if i have my dsn things pointed to
trap17 and they are installed on trap17 if not.. is there a way to give out subdomains to lets say
a domain thats with namecheap, because i have have-heart.info i dont use it really, i had it
pointing to have-heart.net but with the whole trap17 error thing, it unparked and im too lazy to

Issues Uploading A File [resolved]
(3) Hi there. I have been trying to upload a zip file only about 2mb to my account through CPanel.
First I tried uploading it to a new folder in public_ftp. Then i tried to put it in the main part
of public_ftp. I also tried the same thing in public_html. It shows the file being uploaded, and i
get 100 %, but alas, when i look in the folders nothing is there. Is there a restriction on .zip
files? I have had no problems as of yet uploading htm and html pages. Please let me know ASAP.

Sub Domain Problem : Urgent
Cannot access my sub domains (10) Hi, I am having some serious problems with my sub domains. I registered a site with trap17 named
http://zoebelkin.co.cc . Then I made 2 sub domains for the site. One is for the forums section

Whenever I type these in the browser adress bar the browser gives an output that it cannot find the

Need Help In Addon Domains
(4) i need some help in addon domains My domain registor uses A record hence in the DNS setting i have
to put the ip address of my trap17 hosting account. The main domain works out perfectly after

Directory Restricted?
I can't edit one of my site's directories (7) My website is split into two directories: "site", which is my main site's content, and "forum",
which explains itself. The "site" directory is mostly filled with Joomla! files due to my
