A better and faster Internet experience with a full Internet browser in a small package especially suited for small-screen devices.
Opera is a powerful Web browser for surfing the Internet. Opera comes with an integrated e-mail program and a wide range of easy-to-use tools to let you surf the Web faster, safer and easier than with your current browser.
Opera is a powerful Web browser for surfing the Internet indeed....Opera rulz...is better than IExplorer...because he run very quicly...page are downloaded in few seconds....it is good..i have a new version...it`s good
Maybe that browser is better but I will hold me to Internet Explorer, beacuse I dont feel to try new browsers.
But thanks anyway...

And one thing too, page browsing time has nothing to do with wich type of browser you are using. Its your connection type and how fast it is that does matter.
To be honest, I've used Opera for long time, but I switched to firefox lately, since I'm dissapointed by Opera. At first when I changed IE for Opera I was very amazed by the browser's page load speed and the program's interface (I loved the tabs ). It's a great browser, much better than IE, but I think Firefox is the best.
i use opera. its a cool browser. it has a lot of features. firefox, i really dont know wat i dont like about it but opera's interface kinda makes me feel better. lol.
It took me a while just to get out of the habit of opening Internet Explorer and getting into the habit of using FireFox. I don't think I need another browser. Although I should probably download it so I can make sure my site is compatible with it but I don't think I will right now. Firefox is good enough for me.

i just remembered that some sites only work with IE or are optimized for it. i know that www.mapleglobal.com is onlr IE only. i dont know what their difficulties are, but you can t use ANYTHING but IE to go there. so i recommend keeping IE in a place you can find it...
And I in fact do. I use both Opera and Firefox every day. And not just for testing. I use Opera as my email client and for all my webmail and use Firefox for normal browsing and as my primary testing browser. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I've developed a site in Firefox (and working around for IE along the way) that hasn't been nearly 100% fine in Opera as well.
I wasn't disputing that. My point is/was that the browser with the best CSS support that is PUBLICLY AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW is FF 1.5. So Opera 9 is due soon and it's going to be better; Firefox 2.0 is in alpha development too so who's to say it won't be better again. The argument should only be based on what is currently publicly available.
Actually Tyssen had make very good points also. Being what is currently publicly available, I guess both browsers stand in good competition between it's own standards. The best way is to get both Opera and Firefox. That should render alot better efficiency in web browsing as we will be sure most things will work on the web with both. I also cannot deny that Opera renders everything perfectly. A good example is Gmail where it wasn't a supported browser some time back. Now Google make it compatible so it's not a big problem using Opera to check Gmail inbox.
I personnaly really like firefox. But i havent tried the opera browser. I have heard a mixed review of it. But i think i will test it out and see how it compares to firefox.
Tyssen, the post clearly states that it is in Opera 9 and not Opera 8.5 that it works. It works sometimes in Opera 8.5 though.

When I have been designing, there has been lots of issues both in Firefox and Opera, even if the code is 100% correct, and I have to write awkward pieces of code to make it work in all browsers. Anyway, it has been harder to me to program for Firefox than for Opera.
Well, the main reasons that I use Opera are: The only thing I do is not browsing the web. I'm sure Firefox is good if you do that, but I actually SURF on the web. Firefox is too slow to let me do that
Also, I actually have a e-mail. So, I want to read it. Not online, as that would be too slow (even in Opera). So I'm using a mail client. Opera have a mail client, with notices (with sounds) appearing when you get a mail, even if Opera is minimized. That's good, and I can answer fast. Of course, there are other clients doing that, but I prefer to not have too much in my start menu.
I am also downloading lots of things. So, I need a client that lets me download something without opening new windows. In Opera, I can have tabs for downloads (and mail, and chat and every shortcuts I need), which will have a small additional window next to the page I'm browsing telling the status of all downloads.
Also, I am sometimes closing tabs accidently. It's good to open them again without having to browse the history. That's a feature I miss in Firefox.
When I'm browsing, I often have pages open that I do not want to bookmark, but still have them when I come back. Opera is excellent, as it lets you open the same pages that were open when you closed.
I am also active in Wikipedia. For me, it's important to have a fast browser for that. Also, I am active in the Wikipedia chat. Of course, I could download mIRC or another IRC-client, but again, this will lead to many open windows. So I'm using Opera.
I like to see the status of my website, such as the encoding, the SIZE of the page (very handy to know) etc. Everything like can be opened without having to click click click and open new windows.
Also, it's good to use shortcuts to navigate EVEN faster.
Furthermore, notes are handy.
And to end, I would like to tell you that Firefox is NOT faster than Internet Explorer.
Hi, Im working on a website, and im trying to make a right-click menu, which opens on right click,
wherever the cursor is, and closes on mouse out. I wrote the code below, and when i ran it in IE it
ran fine, just how i wanted it to work. However in firefox, the menu just opened in the top left. im
presuming this is because it doesnt like my style changing in the javascript. Any ideas, and
suggestions? If i cant make this work, i will just make it so it works slightly differently when
viewev in firefox so that it can just open in one place. All ideas appreciated. ....
I hate that peace of junk web-browser, and I don't know what THE HELL were Microsoft's
devs thinking when they made it and decided it to be bundled with the OS and not making it nearly
good enough as other variants. I can say, yes, I understand that a browser needs to be
incorporated into the OS, otherwise how could a man go and surf the web or download other browser?

I came across this browser by a fluke chance when I was checking out articles at PC World, and from
what I remember from the article this is a very big name browser in Japan and they wanted to expand
it to the international market. What really caught my eye is that they want to get 5% of the
international market in the browser wars in the next couple of years. To give a background story to
this browser, it was developed in 2005 in both English and Japanese and after 3 years it gain some
popularity in the international community and so now they are trying to enter thems....

well since i started web desighning i've always used internet explore (why?) well when i first
tried FF2, i wasn't a "web-designer" then so i didn't care much about css and htlm stuff, i
din't like it and one of the reason was beacause a couple of the sites i visited wasnt firefox
compatible. but anyways recently i was desighning a site for this community. so like two weeks ago i
downloaded FF3 for testing purposes. in IE the site looked great but what i found was that in
firefox the site was horible, as bad as they could come. so since firefox was better....

While i'm waiting for the My Opera moderators to approve my Opera skin, i'll place it up for

No seriously, I've been using Firefox since 0.x releases. I loved it. Every release, despite
having no huge features, was a great update. Version 3, however, totally messes everything up. Its
default interface is ugly. And no Home button, really ??? (ps. I kno i can drag it back from the
bookmarks toolbar but still, its stupid). The address bar search thing. I liked the concept, but I
am so used to the old way, this actually distracts me, I don't want to search my history
everytime I type a new address. Plus the slide out is huge now making the whole thing feel t....
