| | go to start, click run, type in "msconfig" go to the services tab up at the top and uncheck any of the following programs you would not like to start at the startup screen. Then click apply and you can continue without restarting or you can restart (recomended) and this will speed your computer up. |

Be careful which services you disable tho, some services may be needed for Windows to be ran properly. Virus scanning, registry cleaning, defragmenting, and spyware scanning are also effective ways of increasing your computers speed.

The worry I have with doing this is that I do not know which are the essential services, as a result I may not be starting the services which are necessary for windows to run properly. It would be helpful if someone actually posted the list of services which windows requires to run properly.

true services.exe is located inside the windows\system32\folder not the windows\
folder. so i've run updates on avg, ad-aware, spybot and microsoft antispyware and ran...

users of their opinion and perspective on this. As web is becoming more and more a medium for
communication with visitors and less and less "a static page" it also gains a bit of "intelligence".
Users now visit web sites and get a bunch of "recommendations", and alike stuff, based on their
profile. That is sort of intelligence, namely artificial intelligence . At some point, when
computers evolve and start using retinal scans, there should be no "login pages", and a visi...
