| | I have my hosted account. I have a IPB 2.0 script that i want to upload onto my account.
What folder do i upload it to and how long do you think it would take? (56k)
Also how i 'mod' them, i know where to get the codes but where do i insert them?

Panzer you can create a new directory and upload all the files of IPB in it...Make sure that you are using the legitmate copy of IPB 2.0 (In case of cracked copy, your account will be suspended). Secondly, I wont have an idea on how much time it may take Thirdly, it depends on which MOD you are using...and if you are looking for detailed help then you can refer to the support site of that particular mod

I have uploaded IPB to my sites in the past and it takes roughly 10 minutes. When you make the new directory make sure to name it because that is how people get to your forums. So if you call it monkey it will be located at www.yourdomain.com/monkey Most every mod comes with an installation manual of some sort. Look for a ReadMe or Install Guide with the files that you download for the mod.

Well, i made a new directory called forums. I uploaded the enire content of the IPB folder (unzipped) onto it. I tried going to www.mysite.trap17.com/forums forums.mysite.trap17.com Both are 'this page cannot be displayed' Can anyone please help?

hmm, i sorta followed that how to set up a phpbbfm forum tutorial. I am uploading them in the public_html folder. Thats alright isnt it?

yup, panzer. www and public_html are one and the same. you should make your forums directory inside of either. the www just acts as an alias of sorts for public_html.

Well... I have uploaded the entire IPB 1.3 into the public folder. I tried to follow the 'how to make a phpbbfm' guide but i am stumped on QUOTE 11. Now your going to assign the user you just made, to the database you made before. Find where it says "Add user to database" and there should be 2 drop down menus. One of them, being the user, and the second, the database. Don't worry about all those checkboxes, it should already be set on "All" for you. In the first drop-down, find "YouUserName_forum" and then in the second one, do the same thing. And click "Add user to database". There is no such thing. I tried following the rest of the instructions but the same thing happened, NOTHING! I am disheartened and confused can somebody please help me? (or write a guide on how to do it)

where are you looking for this assign user thing at?? you should be looking for it in your MySQL Database manager, the assign user screen should look like the image attached

your not spamming up the forums, your giving other people the chance to look here if they have the same problem, and now that that is done, you should just enter the following settings when instaling your forum Database user: panzer_forum Database name: panzer_forum Database password: whatever you made the password i am only guessing that those are the database user and database names...

Issues Uploading A File [resolved]
(3) Hi there. I have been trying to upload a zip file only about 2mb to my account through CPanel.
First I tried uploading it to a new folder in public_ftp. Then i tried to put it in the main part
of public_ftp. I also tried the same thing in public_html. It shows the file being uploaded, and i
get 100 %, but alas, when i look in the folders nothing is there. Is there a restriction on .zip
files? I have had no problems as of yet uploading htm and html pages. Please let me know ASAP.

The plea of a nube who wants to make a successful forum. (3) I have a rather large problem at hand, and I don't know from where to approach it. I want to
make a forum using phpbb, I have done so before, but I have never hosted it and made it adfree. I
want to do so with trap17, but I find that I know nothing about FTP and hosting in general.

www.megaupload.com en www.rapidshare.com) They are one of the most biggest file hosting services on
the web. You can upload your files on their server and share them will everyone with a link you
receive. Every host has it's limits. On Rapidshare you can only download ones in 1 and a half
hour and the files can't be bigger then 100 mb. On megaupload the files can't be bigger then
500 mb and there is a download limit too. There also exist hosts that don't have much limits....

DVDs, CDs, Uploading, ect (8) Well i should make backups since i have a lot of info i need. First off i have 5 websites (only 3
online) that i should backup. I also have TONS of movies i made for my website (

Should i burn to DVD or CDs? Should i upload to the net like filefront. Or some other way. I have at
least 100 GBs of stuff. The reason is i have my movies i make so it takes a lot of space. How can i
